I. The author enjoys organizing mission trips to provide aid to communities in need and finds it contributes to personal and professional development. For example, in 2008 the author helped organize a trip from Costa Rica to Mauritania to support a language school, with 16 Costa Ricans traveling to teach English, Spanish, embroidery, and share music. The work provided exposure to different cultures and an opportunity to exchange ideas, learn to work as a team in difficult situations, and respect other ways of living.
