Overview
This article is discuss about why art education curriculum, pedagogy and theory nowdays is more important
in studies. Based on this article, the researcher find that people nowdays are influence in design. Design is
also the good income and become a big business then can makes a viable contribution to the economy. How
to be a good designer and make a unique product , the designer must have knowledge about elements and
principles of art. Other than that, there also must have a good art educators or teacher to give the guide and
teach.
Nowdays art is the important subject in school because Davis, Hawley, McMullan and Spilka (1997)found that
the national standards now for civics and goverment, languange arts, mathematics, science and technology
have learning expectation that support the teaching of functional design. When we strat to do the
architecture, graphic design, produce a product, all this kind is related with art and using elements and
principles of art. Based on the current issue now, the goverment is strat to promote art and design because
can give the income to our country, such as, batik, art curving and anything. That also include product and
design to promote our country in global. Then, from this articel the author also emphasize that to develop
the interest from student, museum and architectural organization is one of the media for them.
2. A description of the methodology
A description for the methodology process, the author found that teacher or art educator have this 3
process to do. That is Lesson Planning, Lesson Examples and Lesson Plan. From all this three function
teachers or art educators can give the good planning for their students and the students also can produce
the aesthetics and functional product to audiens or customer.
Lesson planning is to guide students and make them recognize and appreciate something that can look
aesthetic and have function to people. Then, lesson planning is the role to make students understand how
sustainable design contributes to a helaty environment. Other than that, students can learn how design and
designers function as an integral part of our society, than students also can use invention the
interconnectedness of ideas and events that are central to design and can design the compositonal elements
in viewing and creat design object. Lesson planning also can improve students skills otherwise can build their
awareness of how and why desicions ade made in creating some objects that have direct relevance to their
lives.
Lesson examples is the good guideline to student think the problem and make the problem solving
before their strat produce their work. From this articel there give examples about playground that give
functional to all people. Then, strat from that, the students can create plot from this situation. From their
research te students must think and contacting a design with the enviroment also. After that, the students
must give their ideas to the audiens for respon. Based on this articel, the author give example in Ohio city
and that have two teacher and group students that propose their ideas to principal. Then their created some
complete models with landspace and all things to show it. Lesson examples is one of the sketching ideas for
students presents their ideas.
Last one is the lesson plan,that is the preparing a functional design lesson, that the teacher must
needs to clearly define the design problem, provide background information, define objectivesand
determaine the manner of assesment. From this lesson plan, studets should know the objectives and then
from the group their must create a plan for a new or just improved the design that their doing. Students also
should know the background information of their research or what their doing. This is because, the product
or design that their doing must give benefit and environmetal to all customers.Such as the example that the
author give about the playground, the design must include traditional concept, natural, story, designer,
adventure and creative. All of this things can is important to make a great playground. Example, natural
concept means that the playground must habe enjoyment of natural surroundings such as bodies
water,mountainsor wooden. In addition, the lessons can creted interest for community and give the good
outcome.
3. An evaluation of this study.
1. The researcher, give the good guideline for teachers and art educators to teach their students with this
three lesson, that is lesson planning, lesson example and lesson plan.
2. In this article, I agree with the researcher that we must have the example for students viusalize their
design or artwork. Such as doing the models and do the skecthing.
3. Based on the findings, the teachers that follow this three lesson can improve their students skill because,
from that students can doing step by step and can produce somthing like interesting and give funtion to
customers or their clients.
4. Art education is the silibus that students can design, produce and create their ideas based on the
requirement community nowdays.
5. In my opinion, the researcher can do observation about the population also. This is because nowdays, the
population emphasize the designing. Example like, all the unique design can give the attraction to modern
people.
4. A Discusions of Implications
In era globalization now, art education is the important silibus that students should learn. This is
because, to buy or to get the good product or artwork, we must have designer. From this article, I can make
the conclusion that, art nowdays is take part at many industry, such as architecture, archeology, industry
packaing and everythings. The important that desinger should know is elements and principles of art that
create the object or sketces. Design, Form and function in art education is to teach students how to design
the good and aesthetic idea that can give function to all community. This is because community nowdays can
make a choice to buy something.

Based on this article, the researcher find that people nowdays are influence in design. Design is also the good income and become a big business then can makes a viable contribution to the economy. How to be a good designer and make a unique product , the designer must have knowledge about elements and principles of art. Other than that, there also must have a good art educators or teacher to give the guide and teach. Nowdays art is the important subject in school because Davis, Hawley, McMullan and Spilka (1997)found that the national standards now for civics and goverment, languange arts, mathematics, science and technology have learning expectation that support the teaching of functional design. When we strat to do the architecture, graphic design, produce a product, all this kind is related with art and using elements and principles of art. Based on the current issue now, the goverment is strat to promote art and design because can give the income to our country, such as, batik, art curving and anything. That also include product and design to promote our country in global. Then, from this articel the author also emphasize that to develop the interest from student, museum and architectural organization is one of the media for them. 2. A description of the methodology A description for the methodology process, the author found that teacher or art educator have this 3 process to do. That is Lesson Planning, Lesson Examples and Lesson Plan. From all this three function teachers or art educators can give the good planning for their students and the students also can produce the aesthetics and functional product to audiens or customer. Lesson planning is to guide students and make them recognize and appreciate something that can look aesthetic and have function to people. Then, lesson planning is the role to make students understand how sustainable design contributes to a helaty environment. Other than that, students can learn how design and designers function as an integral part of our society, than students also can use invention the interconnectedness of ideas and events that are central to design and can design the compositonal elements in viewing and creat design object. Lesson planning also can improve students skills otherwise can build their awareness of how and why desicions ade made in creating some objects that have direct relevance to their lives.
  • 2. Lesson examples is the good guideline to student think the problem and make the problem solving before their strat produce their work. From this articel there give examples about playground that give functional to all people. Then, strat from that, the students can create plot from this situation. From their research te students must think and contacting a design with the enviroment also. After that, the students must give their ideas to the audiens for respon. Based on this articel, the author give example in Ohio city and that have two teacher and group students that propose their ideas to principal. Then their created some complete models with landspace and all things to show it. Lesson examples is one of the sketching ideas for students presents their ideas. Last one is the lesson plan,that is the preparing a functional design lesson, that the teacher must needs to clearly define the design problem, provide background information, define objectivesand determaine the manner of assesment. From this lesson plan, studets should know the objectives and then from the group their must create a plan for a new or just improved the design that their doing. Students also should know the background information of their research or what their doing. This is because, the product or design that their doing must give benefit and environmetal to all customers.Such as the example that the author give about the playground, the design must include traditional concept, natural, story, designer, adventure and creative. All of this things can is important to make a great playground. Example, natural concept means that the playground must habe enjoyment of natural surroundings such as bodies water,mountainsor wooden. In addition, the lessons can creted interest for community and give the good outcome. 3. An evaluation of this study. 1. The researcher, give the good guideline for teachers and art educators to teach their students with this three lesson, that is lesson planning, lesson example and lesson plan. 2. In this article, I agree with the researcher that we must have the example for students viusalize their design or artwork. Such as doing the models and do the skecthing. 3. Based on the findings, the teachers that follow this three lesson can improve their students skill because, from that students can doing step by step and can produce somthing like interesting and give funtion to customers or their clients. 4. Art education is the silibus that students can design, produce and create their ideas based on the requirement community nowdays. 5. In my opinion, the researcher can do observation about the population also. This is because nowdays, the population emphasize the designing. Example like, all the unique design can give the attraction to modern people.
  • 3. 4. A Discusions of Implications In era globalization now, art education is the important silibus that students should learn. This is because, to buy or to get the good product or artwork, we must have designer. From this article, I can make the conclusion that, art nowdays is take part at many industry, such as architecture, archeology, industry packaing and everythings. The important that desinger should know is elements and principles of art that create the object or sketces. Design, Form and function in art education is to teach students how to design the good and aesthetic idea that can give function to all community. This is because community nowdays can make a choice to buy something.
