3. Some things you need to
understand about the
ArTES schedule
We have 4 quarters of 10 weeks in one school
year.
By having longer class periods we are able to take
less classes each term (only 3-4 classes)
4. How many credits is
each class worth?
Each class passed is worth 5 credits a term.
If you have 3 classes… each term you have
the possibility of earning 15 credits.
After 4 Terms (1 school year)…
you can earn 60 credits!!!
5. What do I need to move
onto the next grade?
By the end of your 9th grade you must have 55 credits
By the end of your 10th grade you must have
110credits
By the end of your 11th grade you must have
170credits
By the end of your 12th grade you must have
6. Can I just take a bunch of
electives to earn my 230
credits?
Unfortunately, NO. (Nice try)
The State of California requires that out of those
230 credits
160 creditsare core academic classes called
the A-G requirements.
Only70 creditsare electives classes
8. credits when I fail a
class?
Failing a class just puts you that much
farther from moving onto the next grade
level.
That class is still required and gets added
onto your class load the next term or year
This means more work &less electives later
