Mikael Sturesson is a Swedish student studying to become a music teacher. He has a wide range of musical experience, including experience leading music for the church, performing various genres as a solo artist and in choirs, and studying subjects such as vocals, musical direction, and songwriting. He is currently studying at the Royal Northern College of Music and Malmö Academy of Music. His professional experiences include presenting at a music competition, leading worship, performing jazz vocals, and singing with several choirs, including performances with notable gospel artists.

PROFILE
As a person I like to think things through before I do them, in that way I can be as well planned in
my task as possible. I am a curious person who likes to discuss subjects in detail. I am studying to
become a teacher because I love to share the knowledge I have. I have a lot of music experience
from many different areas in my life. A big part from the church, were I have been given a big
responsibility within music and leadership. I have been able to develop in music through a lot of
different genres both in quires and as a solo artist. That’s way I chose to study mixed genres at
Malmö Academy of Music.

2. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Riks SMASK (2015)
Presenter at music contest between the music collages in Sweden. I was a cowriter and performer to
the opening song and the intermission akt. We had an audience with around 500 people.
Worship leader (2014)
I served as a worship leader at a leadership conference for the organisation Equmenia.
Jazz concert (2014)
I performed as a vocalist on a live recorded jazz concert.
Gospel Company (2012)
I successfully auditioned to the professional gospel choir Gospel Company, were I still sing today.
We have performed concerts with professional artists as; Samuel Ljungblahd, Frank Ådahl and
Cory Henry.
Glim of Grace Gospel Choir (2011 – 2012)
I sang solo, conducted and was a part of the choir in over 35 gigs in Sweden and in America. In
America we sang with Walt Whitman and his choir Soul Children of Chicago. We also performed
on live TV, with a live audience of around 5000 people.
Leading part in musical (2010)
I was leading part in a rewritten version of the Swedish musical Lukas.
Samuel Ljungblahd (2010)
Backing vocals for Samuel Ljungblahd in concert.
Youth Leader (2009 – 2011)
I worked as a full time youth leader, with a special responsibility for the music. I was in charge of
projects were a started up bands and choirs that performed in many different locations.
OTHER MERITS
During 2015 I was active in a group that analysed the workload of the students at the music
academy of Malmö. I worked as a mentor for music student at Malmö Academy of Music 2015. I
sing in a gospel choir called Gospel Company, were I also served on the board as secretary.
