Education
August 2013- May 2015
Louisiana Tech University, Ruston, LA- Bachelor of Arts in Music with Minors in
Spanish and History (focus on American History)
During my time at LA Tech I was a part of the Chamber Singers, University Choirs, and University
Orchestra (when it still functioned during my first attendance there). I made the Dean’s and
President’s lists majority of my time as a student (honor roll lists) and was a part of the National
Honours Society. I also was briefly the secretary of the local Sigma Alpha Iota chapter at Tech. I helped
to record concerts and recitals and volunteered to help out during rallies and other various functions.
September 2015-August 2016 (In Progress)
University of Edinburgh- Master’s in Musicology (IN PROGRESS)
Currently studying for my Master’s in Musicology, I have already finished one research project on the
inner workings of Dance Halls during WWI and WWII in Scotland (mainly Glasgow and Edinburgh). My
dissertation which is in the process of being researched and written is focused on the Scottish music
industry and the relationship of the recording and live music sectors. Various essays have been on
videogame music, diaspora and dissemination of Jazz music in Paris and London before and up to the
Harlem Renaissance, the importance of disseminating field recordings back to the original cultures,
and the importance of boy bands (to the preteen girl). I have also continued to be a member of a choir,
volunteering to sing with Greyfriar Kirk and Voces Inauditae (a choir run by a fellow student at the
University that is serves to promote lesser known composers such as those of colour or female.)
January 2010-June 2010
Craven Community College- Certification for Veterinary Assistant
3. 3
Attained this during my absence from Louisiana Tech University. Due to a shortage in Veterinary
technicians, the class was also trained in both the job of assistant and technician. I learned how to
handle live animals, run IVs, and more customer service skills when dealing with the pet owners during
the brief rounds required of us to receive certification.
