2 sems and strain gauges
1. NEW PHYSICAL LAWS (SEMS and Strain Gauges)
According with the new Physical Laws and by the Structural Elasticity Measurement (SEMS Sensors), we can
obtain the exact strain in any point of the structure whatever be its load and flight condition. It is important to
note that the biaxial strain-gauge measurements at a point, will be exactly equivalent to the SEMS sensors
measurements of flexion and torsion at such point.
It means that we can substitute the SEMS sensors by biaxial strain-gauges, with the advantages it suppose in
safety (maintenance) and economical profits (less cost and saving weight). In this case and by obvious
reasons, it would be desirable to create a standard strain-gauge.
2. It is important to note that by gravity the SEMS sensors are self-calibrated, hence the strain-gauges can be
calibrated if necessary at any time, and the SEMS Sensors all at once can detect in real time any mis-function
of any strain-gauge.
Also it will be important the strain-gauges be flexible enough in order to situate them in round surfaces, as in
the wing leading edge. This will let us to obtain an exact measurement about the elastic performace of the
wing in the plane xz (yellow plane and arrows). In this case we can also know the strains in the wing upper
surface (Extrados) and lower surface (Intrados). For this measure the biaxial strain-gauge will need a center
point as measurement reference, like four strain-gauges converging in a point.
