The document compares housing and customs in the United States and France in 3 areas: house sizes, renting vs buying properties, and bathroom differences. While the US has larger houses that are typically rented, France has smaller properties that are commonly purchased. Additionally, French bathrooms separate functions and use bath mitts instead of washcloths.

Personally the United States and France are the same to me. France just do a
little more out of respect than the United States. Like when the guest comes by for
dinner they bring flowers the next day. We do not do that in the U.S.. Also we do not
purchase apartments we rent them but in France you can purchase them instead of
renting them.
