This document provides information and examples about creating a music magazine called "Essential". It includes examples of magazine layout elements like the front cover, content page, and double page spread. It also discusses the target audience as young adults aged 16-24, and how the magazine would be distributed by IPC Media. Technologies used in constructing the magazine included Blogger, SlideShare, Photoshop, Publisher, Excel, and Animoto. The process taught the importance of mock-ups and revisions to create a cohesive final product.

6. How does your media product represent particular social
groups?
It is aimed at anyone who is interested in the genre of the
magazine which is a mixture of R’n’B and Hip Pop music
and in new artists. However it can be preserved has being
aimed at young adults aged 16-24 or either older. The artist
on front is a young adult aged 19 and is a new artist which
suggests that my target markets are interested in new
artist. So she will appeal to both older and younger age
members.
7. Media institution might distribute your media product?
IPC Media
IPC Media is a leading UK consumer
magazine publisher. Almost two in
every three UK women and over 44%
of UK men read an IPC magazine.
IPC's diverse print and digital
portfolio offers something for
everyone.
This is because they are an
established business with an
impressive portfolio. Currently
NME is their only music
magazine, which is why I think that
IPC Media is the best publication
to distribute my magazine.
8. Who would be the audience for your media product?
The audience for my magazine would be young
adults from the age of 16-24. It is mainly aimed
at females because of the feminine touch and
sophistication may be the style of a man’s
magazine however it does not mean that
males are able to read as well. This is because
the magazine is aimed at this specific
audience; however it doesn’t mean that older
adults are able to read the magazine. Also the
feature of the magazine and the editorial
context is aimed at the younger generation.

10. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
Blogger is a blog publishing
system where users are
able to upload pictures
and videos onto. Users are
also able to update their
blog and publish it for
others to look at.

11. Photoshop Techniques
Clone stamp was used to remove
the string hanging from her dress
for the front cover image. To use
this tool I clicked the clone stamp
and clicked the background to Text Tool
clone the string out.
Text Tool was used on my front cover, double
page spread context page and the album cover.
Clone Stamp Tool To use this tool I simply click on the ‘T’ tool. This
also allowed me to move the text to place.
Crop Tool
Crop tool was used to
make the album cover
which I used in my
article on the double
page spread. I basically
clicked on the crop tool
and I was able to select
the bit which I wanted
to crop from the picture
below to get the picture
above.
12. During my primary
research I used excel to
write up my results using
the bar and pie graphs
Publisher Excel
I used publisher to make a
mock-up of my front
cover, content page and
double page spread.
13. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you
have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
Producing a mock up before hand
made it easier to construct the
magazine. I was able to choose
which colours will look and fit well
into my magazine. I learnt how to
assemble the whole magazine so
that the front cover, content page
and the double page spread all
flowed together has one magazine.
Music Magazine I also learnt that it takes time and a Preliminary Task-
ESSENTIAL lot of effort because what you may Magazine TOAST
see on screen may not be what you
see on paper which meant that I
had to keep printing out pages to
make sure that I its correct and
how I want it to look like and
making loads of drafts.
