CAREER OBJECTIVE

2. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
January 2015 To Date-Nutrition Volunteer at Makueni Kenya Red Cross Branch in
conjunction with Makueni County Referral Hospital.
January -April 2014-conducted ENACT (Education for Effective Nutrition in Action)
pilot study with FAO
May To November 2014-Ministry of Health - Nutrition Department, Makueni.
Responsibilities
Compilation of monthly IMAM Reports in the sub county.
Nutrition Assessment, counseling and Education,
Monitoring of performance of health facilities in the Sub county in implementation of
the Supplementary and Outpatient Feeding programs,
Gaps identification and follow up in dispensing food supplements in the health facilities.
Initiation of nutrition activities in the newly opened Health Facilities e.g. taking of
anthropometric measurements, Vitamin A administration, Iron and folic Acid, zinc,
Growth monitoring etc.
Distribution of nutrition equipments in the different health facilities in the sub county
E.g. infant weighing scale, Salter scale, MUAC Taps etc.
Distribution of therapeutic food and multiple micronutrient powder.
Monitoring and evaluation on both SFP and OTP/ other nutrition activities
Community Nutrition Education aimed at improving food security.

Prescribing therapeutic foods for both inpatient and outpatient in the hospital
Nutrition counseling and education to patients in outpatient, inpatient and comprehensive
care clinic.
