The Influence Of The Bush Doctrine
This message of this quote from President Bush is clear, America is not immune from the evils of
the world, therefore America will take action to protect both the ideals and people of the free world.
To defend against the evils of terrorism, America would go to war with terrorism, which will
ultimately lead to the war on terror. President Bush made this stance clear, he stated that "every
nation in every region now has a decision to make: Either you are with us or you are with the
terrorists". Now moving away from President Bush's speech on September 20, to focus on the more
formal Bush Doctrine. The Bush Doctrine was a range of policies that gave the United States the
right to protect itself against countries that harbour or give aid to terrorist

Essay on George W. Bush
George W. Bush
George Walker Bush is the son of the 41st President George H. W. Bush and Barbara Bush. Born on
July 6, 1946, Bush was raised in Houston, Texas and was the oldest of four children. Bush finished
his high school years at Phillips Academy, which was an all–male boarding school in Andover,
Massachusetts, where he was the head cheerleader during his senior year. Bush went to college at
Yale University from 1964 till his graduation in 1968 where he finished with a Bachelor's degree in
history. In the fall of 1973, Bush attended the Harvard Business School, where he earned an MBA.

His campaign focused on four themes: welfare reform, tort reform, crime reduction and educational
improvement. He won re–election in 1998, becoming the first Governor in Texas history to be
elected to two consecutive four–year terms.
In June of 1999, while still Governor of Texas, Bush announced his candidacy for President of the
United States. In the final showdown, it was between Bush and Vice President Al Gore in one of the
closest elections ever. After a third recount, Bush received 271 electoral votes to Gore's 266 and
became the 43rd President of the United States. However, he lost the popular vote by more than half
a million votes. His fist initiative as President was the No Child Left Behind Act, which raised
standards in schools and insisted on accountability in return for federal dollars. The most significant
event during Bush's reign came on September 11, 2001 when terrorists hijacked several planes and
attacked American soil killing nearly 3,000 people. In response to the attack, Bush established the
Department of Homeland Security and announced the "War on Terrorism" which still continues to
this day. Bush focused his attention on Iraq, labeling them as part of an "axis of evil". He
proclaimed that they were in the possession of weapons of mass destruction and had to be stop.
Eventually, they captured the Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein but no weapons were discovered. In
2000 and again in 2004, Bush was named the Person of the Year by Time magazine.

Bush Speech Analysis
Purpose The purpose of George Bush's speech is to justify his future military actions and to unite the
Americans by appealing to their emotions. Bush used a variety of emotive language and stylistic
devices to express his concern over the incident for the audience. Content and Theme Firstly, Bush
structured this speech is very small paragraphs. When he delivered the speech he speaks very slowly
and never speaks more than 6 sentences at a time. Also, he pauses very often to allow the audience
to clap for his speech. This gives an opportunity for the audience to give a very positive response to
his campaign. Displaying the popularity and support George Bush has to the international
community. These short sentences delivers short ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
'America has no truer friend than Great Britain.' Bush appeals to the Britain by stating the friendship
between the two countries. He used the words 'truer friend' to emphasize on the on–going support
and co–operation from Britain. It is almost as if Britain did not offer it's support to the America, they
will not longer be know as a 'true friend'. I think that Bush is using it's political influence, pressuring
on the British government to support America's ideals. He is trying to persuade England to join
America in the activities of anti–terrorism. He specifically thanked the British, South Korea, Cairo,
Australia, Africa and Latin America as a 'friendly gesture' to pave way for future campaign which
may include taking the same political stance in certain worldwide issues in the Middle East. He
takes advantage of this internationally issue to gain more allies and show off it's political influence
in the world. This speech is also a declaration of war from America. "Our war on terror begins with
al Qaeda, but it does not end there." Bush announces that America will take the responsibility of not
only eliminating those who were involved in 911, but also all other terrorism activities around the
world. It is interesting how America automatically assumes authority over world and self nominates
itself being the 'global police'. This statement indirectly suggests that America is to be in charge of
all activities in the world.

The Bush Doctrine
The Bush Doctrine Analysis On March 16, 2006, the White House released President George W.
Bush's second–term National Security Strategy (NSS), which later come to be regarded as the Bush
doctrine. The doctrine was developed predominantly in response to the most unforgettable day in
the American history – the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. He comes up with the two major
pillars of the National Security Strategy which consist of the promotion of freedom, democracy and
also he used the 'globalized approach' to extinguish terrorism due to the global security. On the other
hand, President Washington and President Eisenhower emphasizes different arguments on how does
that military–based 'global approach' would be indeed beneficial and ... Show more content on

The three Presidents might have their own startegy to response to any act of threat, but we definitely
know that Bush has the most viral strategy among all. Not trying to mention that Bush's is
dangerous or mischievous, but at least he has done something to get everything fixed rather than just
spending too much time thinking of it. Nevertheless, an immediate act and response should not be
neglected here. And we're all know that Bush has completed that task eventhough Washington and
Eisenhower might have disagree with him if they were still alive. But, again, both Washington and
Eisenhower should not come into such a judgement because they were not there in the era of Bush
precidency. So they do not have any idea how does it feels like to be in Bush' shoes. They do not

Bush V. Gore 2000
The year 2000 held one of the most controversial elections of all time. Al Gore, Vice President for
eight years, against George W. Bush, son of former President H. W. Bush. Both Gore and Bush
sought to distance themselves from their normal parties, to make a unique approach to their political
ideas. The 2000 United States presidential election was one of the closest presidential elections in
history. A month of recounts and court challenges followed, culminating in the Supreme Court case
Bush v. Gore. Following the court's 5–4 decision, George W. Bush was declared the winner over
Vice President Al Gore by 537 votes in the state of Florida. Domestic issues as opposed to foreign
policy dominated the campaign. Key issues were prescription drug prices, campaign finance reform,
Social Security, and education. Each candidate claimed their economic plan would reduce the
deficit. Bush parodied himself as a "compassionate conservative." ... Show more content on

took place, I did not fully understand the weight of what happened. The table below depicts just how
controversial the 2000 election was. The final election was not called, leaving the nation in shaky

Bush And Clinton Comparison
While this was largely due to the similarity on their views regarding Russia and China, the two also
bonded over topics as disparate as NAFTA and the line item veto to an assassination attempt on
H.W. Bush. Despite Carter's fall–out with his predecessor, Clinton effectively employed Carter.
Their relationship had an unchallenging beginning due in large part to the similarity in their
upbringings and political affiliations. Despite temporary fallouts, the two collaborate on major
foreign policy conflicts in North Korea and Haiti. Both ventures were risky and unstable, yet
ultimately successful – all due to Carter. During another risky time, the Monica Lewinsky scandal,
Clinton was largely aided by Ford. Ford instructed him on the importance ... Show more content on

Bush was revived when he found his place in politics. Unlike his more methodical father, W. Bush
was instinctive; moreover, he appealed to the very Evangelical voters which his father had found
elusive to obtain. This was largely because W. Bush separated himself from his father during his
presidential campaign. He took more conservative stances on economic and social issues – for
example, focusing on "tougher educational standards" (Duffy and Gibbs ?) – than his seemingly
bipartisan father. Yet, as they were father and son, H.W. Bush never publicly critiqued W. Bush's
foreign policy decisions, despite many of W. Bush's decisions being incongruous with H.W. Bush's
foreign policy stances (for example, the War in Iraq). Unlike former presidential relationships which
often centered on political alliances, H.W. Bush, Clinton, and W. Bush bonded over non partisan
interests – natural disaster relief. They raised millions of dollars in aid for the Boxing Day Quake in
Indonesia, and their "pleasant personal relationship" (Duffy and Gibbs FIND) was well–received by
the general American public, as it was a sharp contrast from the bitter divisiveness and resentment
that characterized most political relationships

President Machiavelli Bush Essay
President Machiavelli Bush George W. Bush, our current President, must keep a copy of
Machiavelli's most celebrated work, "The Prince "(1513), on his desk in the Oval Office. In my
opinion, Bush and his administration's actions mimic Machiavelli's advice to the Prince on the
tactics that he should use to stay in power. I am going to discuss how President Bush uses
Machiavellian principles. My first example is of Bush's "War on Terror". In 2001, the President
stated that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and Saddam was going to use them
against the U.S. and other nations even though he did not have concrete proof . He also said Iraq had
ties to Al Quaida and this was a threat to our security and the security ... Show more content on

Yet, it is only the appearance of religion that is helpful . George Bush claims that not only is he
saved, but is called upon by God to political office. He also uses extensive references to scripture
during his public speeches and he promises to bring freedom "as a gift from the Almighty" to
benighted regions of the world like the Middle East. His so called strong morality and grounding in
faith was one of the major reasons for his widespread public appeal, and according to some
estimates, they are among the most important factors in the 2004 election(Urban, #130). This "good
ole boy" painted a virtuous image of himself that the people loved and he has quickly fallen from
grace after being in office for two terms. His positive popularity diminished, not only in the United
States, but all over the world as well. I found the following fact interesting: a poll conducted in
Britain named Bush the second biggest "threat to world peace" after Bin Laden, beating North
Korean president Kim Jong–il (Wikipedia, #203). I guess appearance isn't everything. The last
comparison I will make is the Patriot Act and the fear that it created in the American public. The
Patriot Act was passed immediately after 9/11. It was meant to protect American's and to obstruct
acts of domestic terrorism. The act gave the government the right to invade American's privacy by
increasing the ability of law enforcement agencies have to

U.s. Bush And The United States
"Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the
foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve"
(George W. Bush). Bush was referring to Tuesday September 11, 2001. This day is what woke up
the sleeping giant that was America and forced America to form into a great country again. Events
in the 2000's such as the signing of Bush Doctrine, creation of homeland security, Google, the
successful mapping of genome, Obama becoming the first non–white president, Wikipedia was
launched, all helped improve our country. Between politics, american values, foreign
affairs/conflicts, popular culture, the economy, and technology/ innovation all make this century
worth studying.
Politics is something that has been around since the start of times and usually is the talk of the town.
During the 2000's there were three presidential elections the first one took place in 2000. The
Republican candidate was George W. Bush and the Democratic candidate was Al Gore. This race
was extremely close. The final state, Florida, which was the deciding factor, was so close there was
a recount. This became so big it went to the supreme court, Bush vs. Gore. But in the end George W.
Bush won with only 5 more electoral votes than Al Gore. "This marked the fourth election in U.S.
history in which the eventual winner failed to win at least a plurality of the popular vote (after the

Statement Essay: What Is The Bush Doctrine?
Paper #2: "What is The Bush Doctrine?"
The Bush Doctrine is an ideology developed by think tanks of neo–liberal and neo–conservative
political scientists in the United States much earlier than when President George W. Bush assumed
power. Nevertheless, Bush was the first to openly declare it as the landmark of his foreign policy
while the aftermath of the tragic events of 9/11 provided a fertile ground for its practical
advancement. These events did not spark the ideas encompassing the doctrine; rather, they
expedited its process and justified its actions to the people of the United States and its allies. This
ideology has its roots in the Wilsonian tradition of political thought, which advocates the importance
of self–determination, the advancement of democracy. It also promotes the free market economy
model as well as a global, sustainable and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bush sought to reveal his administrations' ambitions for the creation of a new world order
dominated by a global union of liberal democratic states with open market economies in a golden
era of perpetual world peace, prosperity, and freedom. Thus the US, in its attempt to accomplish this
vision, is willing to work collaboratively with other friendly nations in a multilateral basis through
the use of independent institutions. Moreover, this administration is prepared to act unilaterally with
the use of force if necessary, to counter and contain threats to the American sovereignty and that of
its allies. As the scholar Tony Smith describes, "there would be American Hegemony over the
international system, with progressive imperialism against those who thwarted America's grand

Bush was born on July 6, 1946 in New Haven, Connecticut as the oldest son of Barbara Bush and

The Consequences of the Bushs' Policies
On September 11th, 2001, Al Qaeda terrorists flew two planes into the World Trade Center in New
York and one into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. killing over 3000 individuals and destroying
the World Trade Center. Al Qaeda intended to psychologically cause panic and fear in the United
States (U.S.) through the use of terror because Al Qaeda wanted to influence U.S. foreign policy.
Goldstein and Peverhouse explain, "Terrorism refers to political violence that targets civilians
deliberately and indiscriminately... Terrorism thus amplifies a small amount of power by its
psychological effect on large populations; this is why it is usually a tool of the weak... It is usually a
calculated use of violence as leverage," (p. 145). The U.S. government and citizenry were frightened
after the attacks and worried about when the next attacks would occur. Due to the brutality of the
attacks, the U.S. had an international mandate and international support after the attacks of
September 11th, 2001. The U.S. government responded to the Al Qaeda attacks on September 11th,
2001 in ways that would tarnish the reputation of the U.S. on an international level and that would
have long lasting negative consequences both domestically and internationally for the U.S. and the
world.

a path of domestic policy to one of international policy. With an international mandate, the U.S.

The Bush Administration: The Neoconservative Movement
Judging from history, the Bush administration did nothing else than to realize the dreams of the
neoconservative movement. He only fulfills the agenda of neoconservative movement. I agree with
the statement. I think that the United States went to war with Iraq because that is what the neocons
had planned on its agenda. President Bush was the period where you've just part of the
neoconservative agenda (which did not materialize when Reagan); and his way of being proactive
and ideological beliefs were faithfully neoconservative
For the neoconservatives one of their major contributions in the 70s and 80s is the revaluation of an
empirical attitude towards political action, valued more for the practical results than for their strict
allegiance to an ideology. For some, the neoconservatives are the heirs and, indeed, some are
relatives of intellectuals of the forties, fifties and sixties, influential Jews from New York who
ultimately abandoned Trotskyism in favor of the American right.
Bush and his team came to power in a controversial circumstances, having pledged during the ...

heritage has had on him as a person, and who and what has influenced him as a politician. The
biography is mostly nonjudgmental towards George W. Bush, but does paint an image of him and
his family that is exactly what he has been trying to deny throughout his whole political life: he was

The day after graduation, the elder Bush set off for West Texas and a job at the International Derrick

George Bush Multilateralism
In the days surrounding president George W. Bush's address to the United Nations regarding the
political climate in Iraq, Washington had become a whirlpool of two different approaches:
unilateralism and multilateralism. After an attempt to appeal to both sides in Washington with his
initial address to the UN, George Bush's action of waging an arguably unjustified war against Iraq
without assistance from the United Nations can ultimately be explained using realist theory.
The dominant approach supported by Bush's Republican party was unilateralism. Assuming the
Republicans led by Cheney and Rumsfeld were truly under the impression that Saddam Hussein
possessed weapons of mass destruction, while also having ties to international terrorist groups, their
wishes were not irrational. The unilateralists felt that every day the United States did not act was
another day closer to an attack like 9/11. The main idea behind realism is that war is inevitable, and
that the number one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Liberalism is centered around the ideal that peace is maintained through policy, rather than war. In
the eyes of a regulatory liberalist, international organizations can peacefully facilitate conflicts
before they turn into war. Powell urged Bush to seek the UN security council's assistance in re–
administering nuclear inspections teams within Iraq. The idea was that the inspections teams would
find monitor Iraqi facilities to keep Hussein under control. If Saddam did not agree, then war could
be waged. The key is seeking alternative means of promoting peace before waging a costly war.
Under republican liberalism, democratic states do not wage war under the premise that the citizens
pay the costs of war. The multilateralists knew the war and reconstruction of Iraq would be very
demanding. With this in mind, they felt it was in the US's best interest if members of the United
Nations shared the

Bush, George Herbert Walker (1924– ), 41st president of the United States (1989–1993), president
at the end of the Cold War between the United States and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
(USSR). Bush also organized an unprecedented global alliance against Iraq during the Persian Gulf
War of 1991, but he was less successful in dealing with U.S. domestic problems and was defeated
after one term by Bill Clinton in the 1992 election.

Bush was born in Milton, Massachusetts, but grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut. His parents came

Yarborough argued that Bush's views were too extreme, and, like most Republican candidates that
year, Bush was defeated in the landslide that accompanied the victory of Texas Democrat Lyndon B.
Johnson over U.S. Senator Barry Goldwater of Arizona in the presidential election. Bush's strong
showing in the firmly Democratic state, however, won the attention of a former Republican vice
president and U.S. senator from California, Richard Nixon. In 1966, with assistance from Nixon, an
affluent Houston district elected Bush to the U.S. House of Representatives, and reelected him in
1968.
In the Congress of the United States Bush identified with Republican moderates who were practical
and business–oriented, approaches to which his father had subscribed. He won a coveted seat on the
powerful House Ways and Means Committee (which has jurisdiction over financial matters),
supported the extension of voting rights to 18–year–olds, and voted to abolish the military draft.
After two terms, he gave up his seat in the House to run again for the Senate, expecting to take on
his old rival Ralph Yarborough. The Democrats, however, nominated a much more moderate
candidate instead, former congressman Lloyd Bentsen, who defeated Bush in the fall.

President Obama And President Bush
President Barack Obama and President George W Bush are two extremely different politicians with
different political backgrounds and beliefs in different political ideologies. Between both two term
administrations some of their most scrutinized issues focused on the topic of foreign policy.
President Obama and Bush had to deal with continuous threats and problems arising from the
tumultuous political climate of the Middle East. The way each president saw it fit to eliminate the
problems was quite different as, President Bush often saw it more appropriate to use military force
in the intervention of these issues, where as President Obama is more likely to take a diplomatic
approach before resorting to military intervention. Regardless of these differences both presidents
are ultimately trying to achieve the same goal which is to achieve peace for the United States and
continue the American prosperity. The grand strategy of President of Bush foreign policy was to

those who are oppressed under non democratic regimes. In order to accomplish these foreign policy

Essay on War and Bush
War and Bush
War has taken place all over the world. It is brutal at times even necessary, and the United States of
America has seen its own share of wars. Since September 11, 2001, the President of the United
States has launched a war on terrorism, and currently we are still at war. The War on Terrorism has
been one of the most important battles our country has ever had and overall it has been the best for
the U.S. as well as Iraq. The United States does have its motives for the war, and those purposes are
what make this country as safe as it is today.
Before September 11, 2001 many individuals assumed they were living in a safe country. The news
showed bombings and war in different countries, but people in ... Show more content on

The perspectives of people in war and people viewing the war are very different and many people
fail to realize the news can be a very one–sided source. California itself is very liberal and that can
affect the way the news is run, but the fact is California is not the only location in the U.S. The same
news sources that criticized the war are also the same individuals who show negativity on television
every single day about such things as the Peterson trial, kidnappings, homicides, car accident
fatalities. They show such atrocities of people getting beheaded to get people talking and the more
they talk the more people that will watch the news. In the black eyes of the media the more death in
war and any other part of the world the better. What the news fails to carry out is to show other sides
of their argument.
The war in Iraq has drawn a very rough line that the U.S. will not stand for terrorism and will fight
to destroy these threats of the world. Destroying terrorism will make many individuals feel safer
than they have felt since 9/11. Many people say Saddam was never a threat and the U.S. should have
never stuck their nose in Iraq, but those people are ignorant because Saddam was always a big
threat. The leadership under Saddam Hussein used weapons of mass destruction and hurt Iraq
immensely, causing people to lose their

George Herbert Walker Bush and George Walker Bush Essay
Like Father Like Son – George Herbert Walker Bush and George Walker Bush
Although all individuals are unique no matter how closely related they might be, sometimes their
similarities over shadow their differences, and yield a very interesting combination of events that
almost have a deja vu effect on its audience. The Bush family serves as the perfect illustration for
this phenomenon. From their family history and business life, to their life as the Presidents of the
United States, Bush Senior and Junior have led quite parallel lives. The thesis seems to be more
complex than this.
George Herbert Walker Bush was born on June 12, 1924 in Milton, Massachusetts. He became a

Later he served as an F–102 fighter pilot in the Texas Air National Guard. He received his Master of
Business Administration from Harvard in 1975. George Walker Bush then worked with his father's
Presidential Campaign. Just like his father, he also had an interest in baseball, which eventually led
him to buy the Texas Rangers Baseball franchise with a group of friends in 1989. He married Laura
Welch and had twin daughters, Barbara and Jenna. On November 8, 1994 he was elected Governor
of Texas with 53.5% of the votes. He became the first governor of Texas to be elected to two
consecutive terms. After two terms as governor, he became the 43rd President ("The White House"
Incorrectly cited).
Both George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush have been quite successful businessmen, having both
taken business courses at Yale. Each of the Texas–raised Bushes even came to have substantial
holdings in the oil–industry. Is this the conclusion based on the sources above?

9/11: The Bush Administration
The dreadful occurrence of 9/11 is in and of itself a horrible reality that is a fact of American history.
However, the Bush administration attempted to alter that reality by turning that event into something
else. According to Nuzzo, the only way the Bush administration could have made it seem as if
America as an "absolute victim," free of any fault, was to mark the event as the beginning of
conflict between the two sides (338). To say that 9/11 was the effect of unprecedented evil was the
only way that Bush could use 9/11 as a cause for invading Iraq and hunting down Hussein and bin
Laden (Nuzzo 338). The messages and propaganda put forth by the media and government

For instance, documentary filmmaker Adam Curtis argues that the so called "war on terror" is just
another Cold War, where there is a good guy and a bad guy. This time however, instead of the bad
guy being the Soviet Union, the bad guy is a "phantom enemy" that we assumed to be the
worldwide terrorist organization Al–Qaeda. Curtis also does not believe in the description of Al–
Qaeda as being a worldwide terrorist organization, centered around one man, Osama bin Laden.
Thus, he believes that Al–Qaeda "is more of a world view, a set of ideas around which to inspire a
diverse range of political and/or militant, Islamic groups from Africa, the Middle East and Asia"
(McLaughlin 193). The propaganda created by the attacks of 9/11, proposed by George Bush and
expanded upon by the media, was supported by the suspicion of the rise of Al Qaeda in Iraq and
Afghanistan, as well as the security measures taken around the world in order to defend against
these organizations (McLaughlin 194). The media, by covering the "war on terror" in such detail,
had actually been doing exactly what these organizations want, because they feed on the attention

The Privilege Of Attending The Bush House Museum
I had the privilege of attending the Bush House Museum here in Salem. I went on Sunday
November 20, 2016 and wanted to go because the house was built in the Victorian era. I've always
been quite intrigued with the Victorian era overall. That includes architecture, people, and the
culture. The Bush House belonged to Asahel Bush II (1824–1913) became editor and publisher of
The Oregon Statesman newspaper in 1851, and later served as state printer. He lived in the house
with Eugenia Zieber Bush (1833–1863) and his four children, Estelle (1856– 1942), Asahel (1858–
1953), Sally (1860–1946) and Eugenia (1862–1932). Later in 1863, Bush's wife died at age 39 with
Tuberculosis and so the children only lived with him after that while later moving forth with their
own lives as adults. However, I have declined to provide a ticket due to this following reason: my
good colleague, Karen Howard and I got lost trying to locate the Bush House Museum. We finally
arrived at 1:20 and graciously waited for the tour guide to come to the door after we rang the bell.
She came out and we explained to her that we lost our way in trying to find the house. We told her
we intended to come for the 1pm tour. Thankfully, we did not have to wait for the 2pm tour and she
took us right in. After, we finished the guided tour, she said we did not even need to come back and
prove to her that we bought tickets, she said we simply needed to pay the admission price at the

Bushs Tax Cut Essay
There are two words in the English language that when combined will cause immediate joy and
skepticism at the same time. Tax Cut, although at first it sounds only good there can be some
setbacks. George W. Bush entered his term in office with an aggressive agenda to cut taxes that
turned heads in his favor; however, some people don't think his cuts are fair or effective.
The United States economy is slowly creeping towards a recession. The stock market has shown
repeated drops. Consumers are not purchasing and even savings and loans are down for fear of a
huge economic crash. The only bright spot is a housing market that refuses to yield as apparently
consumers are still positive enough to purchase houses. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His plan is to totally cut 1.6 trillion dollars in the next ten years and he even leaves open the
possibility of a 60 billion dollar reduction this year alone. Bush is confident that this plan is sound
and very workable thanks to a 5.6 trillion dollar surplus that is being predicted. Overall the Bush
plan would reduce marginal tax rates for about 2.9 million of the 13.9 million working families with
children that now get the earned income tax credit. Another 2.6 million families would get tax
reductions or large tax rebates even though their marginal tax rates would not be affected. the
current federal income tax system does not tax the earnings of low income working families with
children, but this is only true for very low income families, the lowest five percent in fact. Bush's
plan would increase this to about the lowest eight or nine percent. Bush states that his plan would
encourage hard work in the average American household because the more overtime a person works
the more their taxes are cut on that extra pay. Many Americans hope that Bush's plan will be passed
and that they can enjoy one of the largest tax cuts in recent history. Economists are hoping that the
cut is just what the economy needs to jumpstart the consumers.
Despite the mainly positive outlook towards Bush's new plans many economist are very skeptic of

George Bush Biography
Introduction
George W. Bush is one of the most controversial figures in recent memory. From his boyhood
boarding schools and military background to the election in 2000, Bush has been the beneficiary of
preferential treatment. Coming from a family of wealthy politicians and businessmen, he did not
have to want, or work very hard for anything. That is, until his presidency pushed him on to the
global scene making it nearly impossible to underachieve like he did in school and in the military.
Several encounters with both the law and the Securities and Exchange Commission weren't enough
to check the Bush privilege. In fact, his family influence was strong enough to infiltrate the U.S.

After two years of piloting and logging over 336 flight hours, Bush requested to transfer to 9921st
Air Squadron in Montgomery, Alabama under Colonel Reese R. Bricken, in order to work on the
senate campaign of George H.W.'s close friend William Blount. Before he could do so, Bricken
made it clear to Bush that he had not yet fulfilled the obligation agreed upon when he entered the
service, but Bricken approved his request anyhow. Much to the dismay of Bush, on July 31, 1972,
the Air Reserve Personnel Center (ARPC) overruled Bush's transfer request, saying that he could
not be reassigned to an Air Reserve Squadron in Montgomery because of his service obligations.
Against the orders of his superior officers, Bush relocated to Alabama anyway, leaving his guard
responsibilities unresolved. In August 1972, Bush was suspended from flying due to his failure to
report for a medical exam. Soon after, Bush reapplied for transfer to 187th Tactical Reconnaissance
Group in Alabama and was promptly approved. This is where allegations of Bush going A.W.O.L
come into play. There are no actual records of Bush performing any of his Guard duties between
May 1972 and May 1973. William Turnipseed, the commander of the 187th, doesn't even remember
Bush at all. "Had he reported in, I would have had some recall and I do not," said Turnipseed when

Bush Speech Ethos
The events that took place in America on September 11, 2001 will have a lasting wound on this
country forever. President George W. Bush's speech, "A Great People Has Been Moved to Defend a

the 43rd of the United States and was a very passionate man. Although Bush had to make some
tough decisions that very day, he was a president that made a lasting impact on America.

Bush uses the appeal of ethos in an effective manner. Bush had prior experience being a governor in
Texas before his presidential experience. He is very clear and confident throughout this entire
speech that the American people will recover from this event. Bush knows how the American
military functions more than any other person out there, and he states, "our military is powerful, and
its prepared" (Bush, 2001, para. 3). That statement is very bold and it would give any American the
sense of protection they needed to feel during this time. Bush had the experience to lead this country
in a time like 9/11 and he and congress worked together hand in hand to work powerfully on these
attacks (Bush, 2001). Although most of the American people did not know Bush on a personal level,
when he delivered this speech, he made it his top priority to feel a personal connection with the
entire country. Having the title of the President of the United States gives Bush the credibility he
needed to use ethos effectively in the 9/11 speech. Bush successfully uses logos throughout this
speech. Bush is very direct with the statements he uses to prove his points and to stand firm for
America. Bush is very clear that the events that took place on 9/11 will not have a lasting effect on
the American people. He states, "we will stand together to win the war against terrorism" (Bush,

The fiscal policies refer to the way in which the government affects those activities in the economy
of a country. The major common fiscal policies that occur in the economy are the government

The budget will also be adversely affected. The net loss in the budget would be about 2.5% of the
country's GDP representation $4.5 trillion. There are the figures that could have developed with the
implementation of the tax policy in the country. The adverse effects of the tax policy has forced the
federal government of the United States of America to shift to the alternative minimum taxation as it
is stipulated in the Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 law. This was more lenient as it had much
negative effects on the operation of the country. Even though the revenues and the budgets are
affected, the effect of the alternative taxation was no such much adverse. The alternative taxation
served the real need in the society. The tax policy regardless of being permanent or not; it will have
an influence on the government operations. The tax cut will have a lot of influence on the
government as there will be significant deficits in the next 10 years. Long term budget plan in the
country will also be affected in the country therefore the government has to take measures to ensure
that the tax cut does not affect the economy.
The tax policy that have been implemented need to be financed in order to ensure stability in the
country. It is evident if the tax cut is made to be permanent, there is need to ensure that government
spending is reduced significantly in the market. An example is 2014 whereby the government has to

President George W. Bush
Throughout the years we have had some great United States presidents and some terrible ones.
When we elect a president, we want someone who will improve our country and stabilize our
economy. However, many presidents do not accomplish this during their term and end up causing
the opposite effect to happen. One president who is on the list of presidents that made the country
worse and our economy decline is George W. Bush. He was the United States president from 2001
to 2009. George W. Bush was one of the worst United States presidents for many reasons, but the
top three on my long list are first and foremost his decision to start the war on Iraq, second his
support of the Military Commissions Act, and last but not least his handling of the Hurricane
Katrina disaster. President George W. bush made the decision to go to war with Iraq just months
after the 9/11 terror attacks on the United States. There is evidence that shows Bush was after
Saddam Hussain from day one of his presidency. Paul O'Neill claims that Bush started constructing
arrangements for the invasion of Iraq within days of Bush's inauguration. Bush denied these claims
and discredited O'Neill by declaring he was a dissatisfied employee who was dismissed by the
White House and that O'Neill had no reliable comprehension of U.S. foreign policy. The Iraqi
National Congress argues that soon after Bush's inauguration, Bush contacted them to discuss how
to remove Hussein from power, which confirms O'Neill's allegations

The Bush Administration Case Study
The Bush Administration considered and was influenced by liberal or realist views when handling
the international debate on Iraq. The six months before the United States invaded Iraq, it was clear
the Bush administration was going to use the UN route and allow the inspector to investigate
Saddam's "Weapons of Mass Destruction". However, the investigators did not find anything to
prove that Saddam had wmd's. This led to the Bush administration being wrong.
As indicated above, the Bush administration was proven wrong. In my opinion, the Bush
administration was not influenced by the liberal views even though they took the liberal route and
collaborated with the UN. Richard Bruce Cheney, in a case study on George W. Bush and Iraq,
states, "There is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction" (7). This
shows that a member of Bush's group had already established without gathering any proof that
Hussein was manufacturing weapons of mass destruction. According to Cheney, "A return of
inspectors would provide no assurance whatsoever of [Saddam's] compliance with UN
resolutions...it would provide false comfort that Saddam was somehow 'back in his box'." (7). This
proved that before the United Nations even began their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

views on going to war Iraq it appeared to have an odd influence on President Bush. As a matter of
fact, President Bush would then go to the UN to offer a compromise. According to Bush, "If the

In 1948, George H.W. Bush moved him and his family to Midland, Texas, where he made his
fortune in the oil business. George spent most of his childhood in Midland, attending school there
until the seventh grade. The family moved to Houston in 1961, and George W. Bush was sent to
Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. There he was an all–around athlete, playing baseball,
basketball and football. He was a fair student and had a reputation for being an occasional
troublemaker and joking kid around. Despite this, family connections helped him enter Yale
University in 1964.

George Bush Influence
Most Americans believe George W. Bush was an amazing President. He may have been the perfect
man for what was resting ahead of him in both of his terms. But, before his presidency, he had a
considerable amount of political experience as governor of Texas. This advantage gave him the
knowledge he needed to fight the Al–Qaeda and handle other circumstances. Without his previous
understanding of politics, he may have failed to protect America and its people. Bush, before his
presidency, had many events and involvements throughout his lifetime. In 1975, Bush graduated
from Harvard Business School. After he graduated, he wanted to work in the oil business. So, he
went back to his home of Midland, Texas (Rumsch, BreAnn page 4). After the ... Show more

Saddam Hussein fled from the U.S. troops, but he was then later captured (Burgan Michael, page
39). Bush fought Europe's ban on importing artificial crops from the U.S. (urondisplay.com page 1).
The next major event was the Iraq War, which George led (Rumsch, BreAnn page 5). The U.S. was
concerned about Iraq's neighbor, Iran. Iran wanted to build nuclear power plants for energy, but
those plants could produce nuclear bombs (Burgan, Michael page 31). Bush was one of the
strongest, if not the strongest, friend Israel has ever had in the U.S presidency
(www.urondisplay.com page 3). Illegal Immigration was a major issue because people from other
countries needed jobs (Burgan, Michael page 35). Most of the foreign issues he had were solved

The Influence Of The Bush Doctrine

  • 1. The Influence Of The Bush Doctrine This message of this quote from President Bush is clear, America is not immune from the evils of the world, therefore America will take action to protect both the ideals and people of the free world. To defend against the evils of terrorism, America would go to war with terrorism, which will ultimately lead to the war on terror. President Bush made this stance clear, he stated that "every nation in every region now has a decision to make: Either you are with us or you are with the terrorists". Now moving away from President Bush's speech on September 20, to focus on the more formal Bush Doctrine. The Bush Doctrine was a range of policies that gave the United States the right to protect itself against countries that harbour or give aid to terrorist ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Essay on George W. Bush George W. Bush George Walker Bush is the son of the 41st President George H. W. Bush and Barbara Bush. Born on July 6, 1946, Bush was raised in Houston, Texas and was the oldest of four children. Bush finished his high school years at Phillips Academy, which was an all–male boarding school in Andover, Massachusetts, where he was the head cheerleader during his senior year. Bush went to college at Yale University from 1964 till his graduation in 1968 where he finished with a Bachelor's degree in history. In the fall of 1973, Bush attended the Harvard Business School, where he earned an MBA. He is the only US President to have earned an MBA. He also is the first US President to get into office with a criminal record, as he had multiple ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His campaign focused on four themes: welfare reform, tort reform, crime reduction and educational improvement. He won re–election in 1998, becoming the first Governor in Texas history to be elected to two consecutive four–year terms. In June of 1999, while still Governor of Texas, Bush announced his candidacy for President of the United States. In the final showdown, it was between Bush and Vice President Al Gore in one of the closest elections ever. After a third recount, Bush received 271 electoral votes to Gore's 266 and became the 43rd President of the United States. However, he lost the popular vote by more than half a million votes. His fist initiative as President was the No Child Left Behind Act, which raised standards in schools and insisted on accountability in return for federal dollars. The most significant event during Bush's reign came on September 11, 2001 when terrorists hijacked several planes and attacked American soil killing nearly 3,000 people. In response to the attack, Bush established the Department of Homeland Security and announced the "War on Terrorism" which still continues to this day. Bush focused his attention on Iraq, labeling them as part of an "axis of evil". He proclaimed that they were in the possession of weapons of mass destruction and had to be stop. Eventually, they captured the Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein but no weapons were discovered. In 2000 and again in 2004, Bush was named the Person of the Year by Time magazine. ... • 3. Bush Speech Analysis Purpose The purpose of George Bush's speech is to justify his future military actions and to unite the Americans by appealing to their emotions. Bush used a variety of emotive language and stylistic devices to express his concern over the incident for the audience. Content and Theme Firstly, Bush structured this speech is very small paragraphs. When he delivered the speech he speaks very slowly and never speaks more than 6 sentences at a time. Also, he pauses very often to allow the audience to clap for his speech. This gives an opportunity for the audience to give a very positive response to his campaign. Displaying the popularity and support George Bush has to the international community. These short sentences delivers short ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 'America has no truer friend than Great Britain.' Bush appeals to the Britain by stating the friendship between the two countries. He used the words 'truer friend' to emphasize on the on–going support and co–operation from Britain. It is almost as if Britain did not offer it's support to the America, they will not longer be know as a 'true friend'. I think that Bush is using it's political influence, pressuring on the British government to support America's ideals. He is trying to persuade England to join America in the activities of anti–terrorism. He specifically thanked the British, South Korea, Cairo, Australia, Africa and Latin America as a 'friendly gesture' to pave way for future campaign which may include taking the same political stance in certain worldwide issues in the Middle East. He takes advantage of this internationally issue to gain more allies and show off it's political influence in the world. This speech is also a declaration of war from America. "Our war on terror begins with al Qaeda, but it does not end there." Bush announces that America will take the responsibility of not only eliminating those who were involved in 911, but also all other terrorism activities around the world. It is interesting how America automatically assumes authority over world and self nominates itself being the 'global police'. This statement indirectly suggests that America is to be in charge of all activities in the world. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bush's second–term National Security Strategy (NSS), which later come to be regarded as the Bush doctrine. The doctrine was developed predominantly in response to the most unforgettable day in the American history – the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. He comes up with the two major pillars of the National Security Strategy which consist of the promotion of freedom, democracy and also he used the 'globalized approach' to extinguish terrorism due to the global security. Not trying to mention that Bush's is dangerous or mischievous, but at least he has done something to get everything fixed rather than just spending too much time thinking of it. Nevertheless, an immediate act and response should not be neglected here. And we're all know that Bush has completed that task eventhough Washington and Eisenhower might have disagree with him if they were still alive. But, again, both Washington and Eisenhower should not come into such a judgement because they were not there in the era of Bush precidency. Both Gore and Bush sought to distance themselves from their normal parties, to make a unique approach to their political ideas. The 2000 United States presidential election was one of the closest presidential elections in history. A month of recounts and court challenges followed, culminating in the Supreme Court case Bush v. Bush And Clinton Comparison While this was largely due to the similarity on their views regarding Russia and China, the two also bonded over topics as disparate as NAFTA and the line item veto to an assassination attempt on H.W. Their relationship had an unchallenging beginning due in large part to the similarity in their upbringings and political affiliations. Despite temporary fallouts, the two collaborate on major foreign policy conflicts in North Korea and Haiti. Both ventures were risky and unstable, yet ultimately successful – all due to Carter. Bush was revived when he found his place in politics. Unlike his more methodical father, W. Bush was instinctive; moreover, he appealed to the very Evangelical voters which his father had found elusive to obtain. This was largely because W. He took more conservative stances on economic and social issues – for example, focusing on "tougher educational standards" (Duffy and Gibbs ?) – than his seemingly bipartisan father. Yet, as they were father and son, H.W. Bush never publicly critiqued W. Bush's foreign policy decisions, despite many of W. Bush's decisions being incongruous with H.W. Bush's foreign policy stances (for example, the War in Iraq). Unlike former presidential relationships which often centered on political alliances, H.W. Bush, Clinton, and W. Bush bonded over non partisan interests – natural disaster relief. They raised millions of dollars in aid for the Boxing Day Quake in Indonesia, and their "pleasant personal relationship" (Duffy and Gibbs FIND) was well–received by the general American public, as it was a sharp contrast from the bitter divisiveness and resentment that characterized most political relationships ... Bush, our current President, must keep a copy of Machiavelli's most celebrated work, "The Prince "(1513), on his desk in the Oval Office. In my opinion, Bush and his administration's actions mimic Machiavelli's advice to the Prince on the tactics that he should use to stay in power. I am going to discuss how President Bush uses Machiavellian principles. My first example is of Bush's "War on Terror". In 2001, the President stated that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and Saddam was going to use them against the U.S. and other nations even though he did not have concrete proof . His so called strong morality and grounding in faith was one of the major reasons for his widespread public appeal, and according to some estimates, they are among the most important factors in the 2004 election(Urban, #130). This "good ole boy" painted a virtuous image of himself that the people loved and he has quickly fallen from grace after being in office for two terms. His positive popularity diminished, not only in the United States, but all over the world as well. I found the following fact interesting: a poll conducted in Britain named Bush the second biggest "threat to world peace" after Bin Laden, beating North Korean president Kim Jong–il (Wikipedia, #203). I guess appearance isn't everything. The last comparison I will make is the Patriot Act and the fear that it created in the American public. The Patriot Act was passed immediately after 9/11. It was meant to protect American's and to obstruct acts of domestic terrorism. The act gave the government the right to invade American's privacy by increasing the ability of law enforcement agencies have to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. U.s. Bush And The United States "Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve" (George W. Bush). Bush was referring to Tuesday September 11, 2001. This day is what woke up the sleeping giant that was America and forced America to form into a great country again. Events in the 2000's such as the signing of Bush Doctrine, creation of homeland security, Google, the successful mapping of genome, Obama becoming the first non–white president, Wikipedia was launched, all helped improve our country. Between politics, american values, foreign affairs/conflicts, popular culture, the economy, and technology/ innovation all make this century worth studying. Politics is something that has been around since the start of times and usually is the talk of the town. During the 2000's there were three presidential elections the first one took place in 2000. The Republican candidate was George W. Bush and the Democratic candidate was Al Gore. This race was extremely close. The final state, Florida, which was the deciding factor, was so close there was a recount. This became so big it went to the supreme court, Bush vs. Gore. But in the end George W. Bush won with only 5 more electoral votes than Al Gore. "This marked the fourth election in U.S. history in which the eventual winner failed to win at least a plurality of the popular vote (after the elections of 1824, 1876, and ... The Bush Doctrine is an ideology developed by think tanks of neo–liberal and neo–conservative political scientists in the United States much earlier than when President George W. Bush assumed power. Nevertheless, Bush was the first to openly declare it as the landmark of his foreign policy while the aftermath of the tragic events of 9/11 provided a fertile ground for its practical advancement. These events did not spark the ideas encompassing the doctrine; rather, they expedited its process and justified its actions to the people of the United States and its allies. This ideology has its roots in the Wilsonian tradition of political thought, which advocates the importance of self–determination, the advancement of democracy. Moreover, this administration is prepared to act unilaterally with the use of force if necessary, to counter and contain threats to the American sovereignty and that of its allies. The Consequences of the Bushs' Policies On September 11th, 2001, Al Qaeda terrorists flew two planes into the World Trade Center in New York and one into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. killing over 3000 individuals and destroying the World Trade Center. Al Qaeda intended to psychologically cause panic and fear in the United States (U.S.) through the use of terror because Al Qaeda wanted to influence U.S. foreign policy. Goldstein and Peverhouse explain, "Terrorism refers to political violence that targets civilians deliberately and indiscriminately... Terrorism thus amplifies a small amount of power by its psychological effect on large populations; this is why it is usually a tool of the weak... It is usually a calculated use of violence as leverage," (p. 145). The U.S. government and citizenry were frightened after the attacks and worried about when the next attacks would occur. Due to the brutality of the attacks, the U.S. had an international mandate and international support after the attacks of September 11th, 2001. The U.S. government responded to the Al Qaeda attacks on September 11th, 2001 in ways that would tarnish the reputation of the U.S. on an international level and that would have long lasting negative consequences both domestically and internationally for the U.S. and the world. • 17. George Bush Multilateralism In the days surrounding president George W. Bush's address to the United Nations regarding the political climate in Iraq, Washington had become a whirlpool of two different approaches: unilateralism and multilateralism. After an attempt to appeal to both sides in Washington with his initial address to the UN, George Bush's action of waging an arguably unjustified war against Iraq without assistance from the United Nations can ultimately be explained using realist theory. The dominant approach supported by Bush's Republican party was unilateralism. Assuming the Republicans led by Cheney and Rumsfeld were truly under the impression that Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction, while also having ties to international terrorist groups, their wishes were not irrational. The unilateralists felt that every day the United States did not act was another day closer to an attack like 9/11. The main idea behind realism is that war is inevitable, and that the number one ... The idea was that the inspections teams would find monitor Iraqi facilities to keep Hussein under control. If Saddam did not agree, then war could be waged. President Obama And President Bush President Barack Obama and President George W Bush are two extremely different politicians with different political backgrounds and beliefs in different political ideologies. Between both two term administrations some of their most scrutinized issues focused on the topic of foreign policy. President Obama and Bush had to deal with continuous threats and problems arising from the tumultuous political climate of the Middle East. The way each president saw it fit to eliminate the problems was quite different as, President Bush often saw it more appropriate to use military force in the intervention of these issues, where as President Obama is more likely to take a diplomatic approach before resorting to military intervention. Regardless of these differences both presidents are ultimately trying to achieve the same goal which is to achieve peace for the United States and continue the American prosperity. The grand strategy of President of Bush foreign policy was to promote the spread of American democratic principles throughout the rest of the world and liberate those who are oppressed under non democratic regimes. In order to accomplish these foreign policy goals the Bush administration needed to exert a maximum display of force which was often achieved through military intervention. Before he could do so, Bricken made it clear to Bush that he had not yet fulfilled the obligation agreed upon when he entered the service, but Bricken approved his request anyhow. Much to the dismay of Bush, on July 31, 1972, the Air Reserve Personnel Center (ARPC) overruled Bush's transfer request, saying that he could not be reassigned to an Air Reserve Squadron in Montgomery because of his service obligations. When Bush's time in the Air National Guard concluded, he moved back to Midland, Texas. Initially, he began exploring the oil industry and formed his own oil exploration company. While continuing to grow his oil company, Bush began to make his presence known in the political arena. After the congressman in the Midland district announced his retirement, George W. Bush had the experience to lead this country in a time like 9/11 and he and congress worked together hand in hand to work powerfully on these attacks (Bush, 2001). The adverse effects of the tax policy has forced the federal government of the United States of America to shift to the alternative minimum taxation as it is stipulated in the Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 law. This was more lenient as it had much negative effects on the operation of the country. Even though the revenues and the budgets are affected, the effect of the alternative taxation was no such much adverse. The alternative taxation served the real need in the society. • 34. President George W. Bush Throughout the years we have had some great United States presidents and some terrible ones. When we elect a president, we want someone who will improve our country and stabilize our economy. However, many presidents do not accomplish this during their term and end up causing the opposite effect to happen. One president who is on the list of presidents that made the country worse and our economy decline is George W. Bush. He was the United States president from 2001 to 2009. George W. Bush was one of the worst United States presidents for many reasons, but the top three on my long list are first and foremost his decision to start the war on Iraq, second his support of the Military Commissions Act, and last but not least his handling of the Hurricane Katrina disaster. President George W. bush made the decision to go to war with Iraq just months after the 9/11 terror attacks on the United States. There is evidence that shows Bush was after Saddam Hussain from day one of his presidency. Paul O'Neill claims that Bush started constructing arrangements for the invasion of Iraq within days of Bush's inauguration. Bush denied these claims and discredited O'Neill by declaring he was a dissatisfied employee who was dismissed by the White House and that O'Neill had no reliable comprehension of U.S. foreign policy. The Iraqi National Congress argues that soon after Bush's inauguration, Bush contacted them to discuss how to remove Hussein from power, which confirms O'Neill's allegations ... • 35. The Bush Administration Case Study The Bush Administration considered and was influenced by liberal or realist views when handling the international debate on Iraq. The six months before the United States invaded Iraq, it was clear the Bush administration was going to use the UN route and allow the inspector to investigate Saddam's "Weapons of Mass Destruction". However, the investigators did not find anything to prove that Saddam had wmd's. This led to the Bush administration being wrong. As indicated above, the Bush administration was proven wrong. In my opinion, the Bush administration was not influenced by the liberal views even though they took the liberal route and collaborated with the UN. Richard Bruce Cheney, in a case study on George W. Bush and Iraq, states, "There is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction" (7). This shows that a member of Bush's group had already established without gathering any proof that Hussein was manufacturing weapons of mass destruction. According to Cheney, "A return of inspectors would provide no assurance whatsoever of [Saddam's] compliance with UN resolutions...it would provide false comfort that Saddam was somehow 'back in his box'."
