Work Package 4 focuses on photovoltaics and solar energy with two subprojects. The first subproject aims to reinforce knowledge infrastructure on PV applications through cooperation between organizations and improving communication. The second subproject seeks to increase the efficiency of converters for concentrated solar power through developing a new receiver tube that can operate at 280 degrees Celsius and a pilot project.

17. Mithras has a clear goal: To reduce the cost of electricity from solar thermal parabolic trough power plants quickly and sustainably. The quicker the technology will prevail, the better for the environment and all future generations.
