Song title:Thinking out loud – Ed Sheeran
About the artist and song: The song thinking out loudis sung by Hebden
Bridge bornsinger/songwriterEdSheeran. The genre of this song falls under
blue-eyedsoul. The videofor thinking out loud was producedby Jake Gosling
and the recordlabel whichit was releasedwithis Asylumrecords and
Atlantic records. The write of this song is a lady calledAmy Wadge.
The tale behindthis song is describing howthings will change throughout
life, he will grow old and his memory will growweak and he knows he'll
grow weak physically as well, but the one thing that he's sure of is the fact
that he will love her just the way he did back when he was young and he
knows she will love him just the same. "Baby my heart could still fall as hard
at 23"and "I know you will still love me the same". And that's basically what
he's trying to convey throughthis song. The feeling of loving someone
deeply and knowing that they feel and will feel the exact same way towards
you.
Music videooutline:
My initial ideas for my music videowere toshoot my sister andher fiancée
doing a practice of their first dance for their wedding and thenedit it toplay
alongside this song. I would alsoadd a couple of shots where Ed is dancing
as well from the original videotocompare the two together almost.
Target audience:
The target audience for this music videowould be aged around 16-18 year
olds. This would be to try and give theman insight intowhat things intheir
lives meanand alsothe majority of people whom listentoEdSheeran’s
music are agedaround this age group.
Purpose of the video:
The purpose of my music video is to showthe viewers what happiness and
love is like throughthe concept of one idea whichis based around the first
dance idea.
Sound and music:
3. The sound and music will all be a recording of the song itself using the
original tune and original vocals so that it doesn’t soundto off key during the
filming.
Casting:
The casting will mainly be my sister andher fiancée.
Performer’s style:
The performer’s stylewill be very contempary as tocoincide withthe vocals
of the backing track.
Performer’s image:
The performer’s image will be very minimal and contain very minimal colours
such as nudes and shades suchas white.
Possible videotechniquesused:
Long shot, mid shot, close up, extreme close up(facial expressions)
Possible foundfootage:
Possible foundfootage will be random shots whichi have chosentoused
from the original videoto go alongside my own personally filmedfootage.

5. Scene 1
The scene will open with the acoustic beginning to
the song and will start with lights beginning darker
and opening up and getting brighter as the couple
begin dancing along with the acoustics. This will
then lead to a still shot of an image of and elderly
couples wedding photo. (this will only last 5
seconds). This scene will close fading out of the
image of the wedding to a scene of the new husband
and wife to be kissing as a silhouette. The female
dancer will be in complete white and the male in
complete black.
Scene 2
Scene 2 will be started with the silhouette image and
fade into a clip from the original video with the
artist and a professional dancer successfully dancing
a contempary piece of work. As that footage ends it
will then become a shot of the couple to be dancing
with and image of an elderly couple in front of them
to show that love really does last forever. The main
focus will be on the photograph with the dancer’s
legs in the background dancing in time to the backing
music.
Scene 3
The third scene will be the life of a married couple
in reverse. It will show more recent images of the
couple and reverse back in time to the wedding day.
This means that there will almost be a video collage
of this couple’s life reversing back to the very
beginning of the wedding including the preparations
which were made for the wedding.
6. Scene 4
The 4th scene will mainly be focused on the couple and
how they are starting to progress with their first
dance and how they are getting closer to their actual
wedding. This part of my video will show how much
they love each other and how much they are looking
forward to their wedding day.
Scene 5
as the music video comes to an end it will show the
couple stood at the altar after they have said their
vows to each other and are now married. As the scene
begins to close it will show them having their first
kiss as a married couple and there will be a shot
where the camera zooms out on the couple whilst they
are standing at the altar and it will then in
calligraphic writing come up saying the end against a
silhouette of a couple standing at the altar.
16. Strengths
The strengths of this videoare the main images whichit will be portraying to
the viewers. The strengthsof the filming are that eachscene is very simple
and won’t require muchediting. Some of the other strengths are that each
member of the cast will be assignedtheir owntasks whichwon’t be too
complex and easy to complete.
Weaknesses
Weaknesses couldbe the cast arguing and disagreeing withthings, not being
able to get the desiredvenue, editing faults suchas work not being savedor
being done incorrectly.
Opportunities
Opportunities for this are that it will be a good way of showing my ability to
recordfootage and then edit it intoa videowith the correct music and follow
the correct and desiredgenre.
Threats
Threats for this are again editing issues suchas work not being done correctly
or simply not being savedwhichcould lead tothe video itself not being
completedintime for the deadline.
