1. As part of your BrightSparks entry, you will need to include the
following paperwork as your portfolio:
Photo
You are to include a photo of your project and yourself.
Introduction
You are to clearly introduce your project, explaining what it is, and
how you chose to design it. Explain the problem that caused you to
design your project
Flowchart
You are to create a clear one-page flowchart showing the main
stages of your circuit in block diagram form.
Circuit Diagram
You are to produce a neat circuit diagram showing all components
including the download circuit. Resistor values should also be
shown. Use either Yenka or maths paper to produce this.
How it works
You are to clearly explain how your circuit works, describing how
the inputs trigger various parts of the program, and how the
program then activates the various outputs. A good way to start is
with: ‘When the push-button is pressed…’, or ‘When the resistance
of the LDR drops…’.
Program
You are to include a printed copy of your PICAXE program. This
should be commented throughout to make it easy to understand.
Evaluation
You are to include a thoughtful evaluation describing what you:
• Are most pleased with
• Would change if you did it again
• Found most challenging and most satisfying
Appendix
You are to include any supporting paperwork which shows working
plans, ideas, datasheets, diagrams, notes etc.
