3RD TERM PROJECT:
RAISING MONEY FOR NEEDY PEOPLE
TOPIC: NGOs OBJECTIVES: to raise awareness and money
LEVEL: 3rd
ESO TEAM: 5 people
INTRODUCTION
Solidarity is unity (as of a group or class) which produces or is based on unities of interests,
objectives, standards, and sympathies. It refers to the ties in a society that bind people together as
one. Unfortunately, our society does not fit this definition in many ways. Inequalities, wars or the
refugees situation are just a few examples of how we lack solidarity.
Well, If you think the world is not at your hands, let me be convincing here: you’re wrong! We can
always help other people, but it is important to start working on ourselves first: becoming aware of
our conscience is the first step:
Do you feel you should help other people?
Second, you need to be aware of the world you live in.
How many unfair situations do you know?
As a consequence, I thought we could work together to reach a fairer world. Helping NGOs or social
foundations are a good option to raise our awareness, to boost international cooperation and
educate for development. You are going to learn about some organizations that are trying to build a
better world.
SITUATION
Your classmates are going to present you with the features
of different organizations that assist needy people.
QUESTION
How can we help other people?
PROCESS
Once you’ve been presented with the necessary information about the different NGOs, you need to
agree upon two facts:
1. What can we do to raise some money? A Solidarity concert? A performance? Fundraising
program or gathering?
2. To which NGOS would you like to donate the raised money?

ROLES FOR THE NGOs research
Roles 1 & 2: Do the research.
Role 3: Search for the map and other images. You also need to interpret the map.
Role 4: Get all the information together either on a presentation or video.
Role 5: Think of how you are going to get the money.
FINAL PRODUCT
By the end of this project, you will have a clearer idea of the things we can do to build a better
world. You will also have several presentations or video with basic information from different NGOs
that are already collaborating with the impoverished. In addition, you will have to actually organize
a fundraising event. Finally, you will be a better person by sharing the money you obtained with the
poor or needy people, but you will also have to decide who needs it more, which will be a very
difficult question.
To put it simple in four steps:
1. We can do something
2. Means of communication: video on youtube or presentations on slideshare.
3. Fundraising event.
4. Donation
