1. The Academy of Amazing Skills
In the Academy of Amazing Skills children develop practical skills like:
1. Cooking skills – baking cakes, preparing salads, sandwiches and juice. Children also make
homemade preserves. Owning to these skills we ingrain healthy lifestyle and how to use
cutlery in a safe way. At the end of each class children try their dishes. Apart from practical
usage such classes give a lot of fun and fulfillment as the children know that they are able to
do such important activities on their own.
2. Physical skills – everyday exercises and a competition called “Kindergarten Competition” give
pupils the ability to develop their physical activities and also enhance to work in group and
instill fairplay rules. The activities consist of pulling the rope, running in sacks and throwing
rings at the target.
3. Musical skills – like playing a percussion instrument. Children play on such instruments as
drums, tambourine, triangles and rattles. Apart from professional instruments they also play
on things like bottles, cans and bottle caps.
Art workshops
Since we are aware of the fact that each child is an individual we prepare a lot of art activities
to allow the child to show his feelings and emotions. For some pupils such classes are a
therapy, for others it is a way to develop their interests and skills. But - the most important is
that such activities should be fun for all of them.
Owning to such workshop children:
• Uses imagination to make art
• Knows the colours (first primary, next – complimentary)
• Name the colours
• Know art tools
• Know art techniques
• They show feelings working in group
A very good example of such workshop is “Painting by mixed techniques”. Children worked
with different techniques like: mixing colours and glue, painting on the base of salt, painting
by scobs (from trees) and blowing paint out by a straw. Children are happy during such
activities and they are very interesting for them. Moreover, they also develop their
imagination.
Another example of workshop is ”Orchand in the autumn”. Children in groups were making a
model of orchands. Apart from art skills we also develop the ability to work in groups and
planning and organizing work.
Dancing and singing – musical concerts.
2. In our kindergarten we pay a lot of attention to dancing and singing. Dancing is a great activity which,
from the earliest age, enables to stimulate child’s development and skills.
In our kindergarten we have many proprietary kindergarten programs which develop dancing
skills and physical movement like “My first steps in dancing”. In this program children learn polish
folk dance, international dance styles and modern dance.
Owning to such programme children:
• Learn about Polish folk culture and about folk culture in foreign countries
• Show emotions through dance
• Show their dancing skills to other children
• Develop timing skills and physical activity
Children perform on many competitions and concerts. Every year we organize a concert
called “Rhymes and rhythms”. Children also perform during events organized by our town
authorities. It is a huge attraction for pupils and a kind of promotion of our kindergarten in
our city. We also have a lot of dancing costumes in our kindergarten, which makes our
performances more interesting and professional.
