1. Early Stage Social Gaming/Health Informatics Start-Up Seeking Technical
Partner
Who We Are
We are developing a social gaming platform that makes it easy for users to generate personal health
information that they can analyze, access or sell. Our vision is to lead usage-based health management
for people in the same way that Progressive, with its Snapshot device, is leading usage-based insurance
for cars.
Our Progress Thus Far
We are a small startup led by an entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in entrepreneurship and
small business development. We have received seed funding and support from Ascension Health, the
largest nonprofit health system in the US. We are building social proof through small scale prototypes.
We have done significant ground work in the design of our solution.
Who You Are
You are a game designer and programmer with the flexibility to operate in a startup environment. You
should be a natural problem-solver, combining attention to detail with creativity. Ideally, you are a
devotee of Agile and Test Driven Development with technical skills that include the following:
• Game Design Expertise: Knowledge of social game mechanics. Skilled in Adobe Illustrator,
Fireworks, InDesign, and Photoshop. Strong UI/layout, mockup skills.
• Front End Expertise: XHTML/CSS/JavaScript - Hand code, standards compliant, semantic, cross
platform & cross device interfaces, jQuery, MooTools, Ext. JS (for internet and mobile devices).
• Application Programming Expertise: C+, PHP, ColdFusion, AJAX, Web Services (RSS, REST, SOAP,
XML-RPC, etc.). Familiar with Amazon Web Services as application hosting provider.
• Database Expertise: MSSQL/MySQL – Relational database design and programming, stored
procedures, triggers, reporting, and administration.
While the skill set may be negotiable, a strong work ethic and a track record of successful project
implementation are not. We are particularly interested in someone who has successfully exited a game
and/or health informatics-related company.
Opportunity
We are looking for a partner who could receive up to 40% equity. The partner will assume the role of
CTO, directing the technological aspect of the business and shaping the team that would support it.
What to Do & Timeframe
Email your resume, any links to projects you have done, and times and dates that you are available for
an in-person or virtual meeting on the week of March 26, 2012 to marlo@mendemedia.com. We are
taking submissions until Friday, March 23, 2012. We plan to complete this process by late April/early
May. Be sure to let us know your current employment situation and why you are interested in this
opportunity.
We look forward to your submissions!
