Let´s talk about grammar!

 Is it important to teach grammar?
 Should grammar be taught in an implicit or explicit way?

Do you teach grammar deductively (where the grammar rule is given to the
students and then they apply it in their English) or inductively (students are able
to discover the rule on their own by making their first mistake)?

 But first of all, what is Grammar?

Grammar is sometimes defined as “the way words are put together to make
correct sentences”

Thus in English I am a teacher is grammatical, *I a teacher, and * I are a teacher
are not.

In general, we can say that it is important to teach grammar. A good presentation
should include both oral and written forms.

It is also important to have plenty of contextualized examples of the structure.
Visual materials can also contribute to understanding.

YOU SHOULD DECIDE WHETHER A GRAMMAR RULE WOULD BE HELPFUL
OR NOT.
