Then they crucified you.
While you suffered, the soldiers divided your clothes between them. They mocked you and teased you.
They called you ‘King of the Jews’ not to honour you but to bring you dishonour
Two thieves were crucified with you, men who had committed crimes and were being punished for their crimes.
One thief asked, ‘If you are truly the Son of God, save yourself and us as well’.
The other thief answered, ‘Do you not fear God? This man has done nothing wrong yet has been condemned to death. Then turning to you said, ‘Lord, remember me in Heaven’, to which you replied, ‘Today you will be with me in paradise.’
Soon a darkness fell over the land, then with a loud voice you called, ‘Father, into Your hands I place my spirit’,
