Mind ness.
6. FUTURISTIC APPROACH
Being a low-cost carrier, indigo offers only economy class seating.
Although offers indigo offers cheapest price and is a low cost airline but it made a
conscious effort to be india‘s largest airline india.
It conveyed people that low cost does not mean low standards.
7. SALE AND LEASE BACK
2005 INDIGO, gave bulk order 100 airbus A3 20 aircraft to
air bus.
In those days due to frequent aircraft accidents airbus had
lost the Indian aviation market.
Airbus wanted to desperately re-enter the Indian market
and indigo understood this very well.
So indigo placed a bulk order of 100 aircraft with airbus with
huge discount in return .
So indigo reduced major cost in aviation business by half.
Sale and lease back model provides good working capital .
8. HUB AND SPOKE MODEL
One method is to create the regional hubs and the other method is
more decentralized as it makes use of the focus cities to
implement point-to-point service.
There are disadvantages of this model as well. Any operational
hassle such as bad weather can lead to delays in the whole system.
Further, the capacity of the airports to handle all the activities of
the hub might be constrained.
This is one of the major limitations and the airlines prefer to
choose their hubs after due considerations of the airport capacity.
There are no direct flights. Indigo airlines, focused on
operational efficiency, has used this model to prevent loss of time.
9. Similar type of aircraft (a-320's) and seating arrangements. This
means easy maintenance and saves them hugely on spare parts.
Also it means enhanced flexibility in terms of routing planes.
Bulk orders means it has the bargaining chip.
No stop over for the crew. They return back to their home city
the same day hence saving on the costs.
On time is such a wonderful thing! Their flights always take off on
time and land on time!
Quick turnaround. I have heard the crew is able to get a plane
ready for departure in less than 20-30 minutes.
No frills - no premiere class, no free meals. INTRODUCTION
