2. Day 3 – Townshend to Four Lanes
General directions : From Townshend follow the B3280 through Leedstown and onwards to Praze-an-Beeble.
Then break away from the B3289, turning northwards on footpaths and minor roads to Carwynnen, before
climbing up to the top of Copper Hill. From here take further minor roads to join up again with the B3280 near
Dowha and Hangmans Barrow. Turn left on B3280 and continue up to Four Lanes, just south of Redruth.

then right onto the Troon New Road over High Downs @ 775ft. 3 hours and 30 minutes into the walk I joined back onto the
B3280, turning left, and after another 30 minutes of road walking arrive in Four Lanes.

12. Day 3 – Townshend to Four Lanes
View from High Downs (670 ft) across to Four Lanes. I should have taken one of
the footpaths across to Four Lanes from here, to avoid the busy B3280.

13. Day 3 – Townshend to Four Lanes
Joining the B3280 again after High Downs. Elapsed walking time 3 hour 30 minutes.
Another 30 minutes road walking to get to Four Lanes. Highest point of walk (775 ft)
near here

14. Day 3 – Townshend to Four Lanes
Entering Four Lanes. Combination of narrow road, high hedges/walls and fast-moving traffic
on B3280 made last the 30 minutes walking quite unpleasant. If I did this walk again I’d take
one of the footpaths from High Downs across to Four Lanes.
