This document provides guidance for prayer and spiritual growth. It advises believers to rely on the Holy Spirit for guidance, focus on Jesus and God's will, spend time in quiet reflection on scripture, pray expectantly, and be ready to obey what God reveals through His word. Key bible verses referenced encourage relying on the Holy Spirit's teaching, keeping Christ's words, being still before God in prayer, and focusing on Jesus rather than one's own desires.

does not love Me does not keep My words; and
the word which you hear is not Mine, but the
Father's who sent Me. 25 "These things I have
spoken to you while abiding with you. 26 "But
the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will

Editor's Notes
1) Believe – You must believe that God is desiring communion with you and is already speaking to you. It is one thing to believe God can speak to people today and another to believe He is speaking to you. But as Jesus said in Joh 16:13 NASB "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come,” God is speaking to us all.
In order know the voice of God, we must know who God is. In order to know who God is, we must read His Word, for it is the Book of Life, revealing His nature and character in dealing with His people. If we do not know the true heart and character of God, we can easily be deceived. To know what is not the voice of God we must learn firstly to recognize the true voice of God. The Holy Spirit speaks to us from scripture.
Remove outer noise, voice, thoughts, pressures. Maybe you could write them down and put them to the side to help you still yourself. Pick a regular spot, a place where listening is a routine and habit. We cannot separate hearing God’s voice from daily routine of Bible and prayer. Knit all these things together with worship and you have a recipe for wondrous things! Psa 46:10 Be still, and know that I am GodThe focus of Matt 6:6 is that prayer shouldn’t be paraded it is not to be grandstanded but done for it’s own reward not to impress others.
4) Be Focused on Jesus - We can often find this the hardest step, when in reality it is so simple. Think about Jesus, let the Father’s love surround you. Scripture can often help us come to this place. It’s all about worship and adoration, looking to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Don’t take your eyes off Him! Jesus demonstrated the ability of living out of constant contact with God, declaring that He did nothing on His own initiative, but only what He saw the Father doing, and heard the Father saying (Jn. 5:19,20,30). What an incredible way to live!
Psa 5:3 NASB In the morning, O LORD, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch. When we have a living, vibrant, two-way relationship with the Lord, we must remember to turn on our ‘spiritual antennas’ and expect to hear God speak to us. We must devote ourselves to asking, seeking and knocking on the door of our Father’s heart, waiting in expectation for Him to answer.
Be Ready to Respond - Hearing God is an awesome privilege, but with it comes great responsibility. God is looking for those who will hear AND act, carrying out the directives He has spoken. Jesus says, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it” (Luke 11:28). So be ready to hear…and respond! Otherwise you’re better off leaving your earplugs in. Record what God is saying, keep a journal and write down your thoughts, feelings and experiences. Record the scriptures God highlights for you and the promises He gives, it makes for wonderful reading down the line.
