Reason for implementing a vehicle safety training process for Tyson Foods pool car fleet is to
The likelihood of achieving support and funding to facilitate vehicle safety training sessions is high. The safety
training process falls within Tyson Foods organization goal of “Safety Today – Committed to Zero” value. Tyson
Foods believes accountability and responsibility for workplace safety resides with all team members including
management, management support and hourly Team Members. Training videos covering vehicle safety do not
currently exist within our training library, and Tyson Foods believes in providing team members with the
information they need to work safely.

How the training will be delivered
Vehicle safety training will be delivered in the form of videos and info graphics that
will be placed within the vehicle. Participants will watch the video and sign an affidavit
confirming that they have viewed Tyson Foods Vehicle Safety Training video and
understand it in its entirety.
Identifying content
Vehicle safety content will include, “How to Change A Flat Tire” and “Vehicle
Inspection”. The vehicle inspection video will show how to check your fluid levels,
engine oil, brake fluid reservoir, transmission, coolant reservoir, power steering,
windshield washer, and fuel levels. Exterior inspection of the vehicle include,
2. headlights, brake lights, tail lights, front and back signal lights, emergency flashers, tire
pressure, and wiper blades.

Development
Creating the materials needed to run the program
Meetings will be held with Tyson Printing Services Graphics department to develop
an infographic that will be placed inside of each Tyson Fleet car. The infographic
will be a brief overview of how to conduct a vehicle inspection and how to change a
flat tire. All artwork will be designed by the graphics supervisor and submitted to
the project management office for approval or changes.
Meetings will be held with Tyson's Communications department to facilitate the
production of the "How to Change a Flat Tire" safety video. A finished version of
the video will be submitted to the project management office for approval or
changes.
Managing the materials needed to run the program
Vehicle safety videos will be kept in the project management office's shared folders
located on a Tyson server housed in the data center at World Headquarters (WHQ).
The video will be retrieved and distributed in electronic format. At this time CD's
will not be produced.
Implementation
Scheduling training and notifying participants
Scheduling Training: Training will be scheduled upon requested usage of pool cars.
An email can be sent to the requestor containing a link to the safety video, along with
the affidavit form, and instructions about how to submit the forms to Tyson's program
management office.
3. Arranging for materials, equipment, and training rooms
Video training will be conducted through the requestors network connection via. Microsoft
Outlook email. No additional software will be required to view the video. The requestor will
need to print a copy of the attached form and scan or fax a copy back to the project management
office where it will be retained for the amount of time deemed necessary by Tyson Foods Record
retention department.
Infographic printed material will be procured via Tyson Foods Digital Printing Services.
Safety Video's will be directed and produced by Tyson Foods Communications department.
