The Lombard Park District has implemented various green initiatives to create a more environmentally friendly environment. These initiatives include installing eco-friendly light bulbs and hand dryers, low flow sinks, prominent recycling bins, using recycled paper and soy-based ink for publications, encouraging less printing and online registration, establishing no-mow areas to preserve wildlife habitats, using native plants that are drought tolerant, and employing environmentally friendly cleaning supplies and construction practices. They have also held battery and light recycling events to keep chemicals out of landfills. The Park District aims to continue implementing more green initiatives.
