What is the Fedora ARM project?
● An effort to port Fedora to ARM Architecture(s),
ultimately on a par with existing x86 support.
● Currently have a Fedora 17 beta release with over
95% of Fedora package coverage. Targets both soft
(v5tel) and hard (v7hl) floating point ABIs on 32-bit.
● A community effort lead by Chris Tyler (Seneca
College – say “hi” Chris) as well as myself and other
members of Red Hat and the Fedora community.

Linaro and Fedora
● Linaro has been helpful to the Fedora ARM port.
Tracking bugs, collaborating on ABIs, etc.
● We think ARM Linux will best succeed if we work
together. Linaro can be a good clearing house of
information and collaboration to solve problems.
● Increasing collaboration between Linaro and Fedora
will be important, esp. in emerging technology.
● Need to tame the “zoo”.

AArch64 – bringing 64-bit ARM to Fedora
● We will support AArch64 (ARMv8) in Fedora.
● Exciting technology but will not succeed in new areas
with fragmentation. Linaro is key to ensuring we do not
repeat the mistakes of 32-bit ARM in the future.
● Strong need for standardized platforms, compatible
software and distributions.

To infinity, and beyond!
● Fedora ARM has been amazing fun so far. Lots of
weird and obscure bugs (and actual nightmares).
● Let's work together more. Please download a nightly
Fedora image or a beta and test it out on your board.
Join us on #fedora-arm on Freenode, etc.
● We should test more “enterprise” configurations. The
defconfigs we're all using are useless for bigger
systems. See recent spate of random breakage.
● Please talk to me and Chris about Fedora!
