Add one hour to you day

 1. 1. Time Strategy Add an Hour to Your Day
 2. 2. Introduction

Most people complain about not having enough time to deal with their daily activities.

They believe it would be nice having enough time to:

Practice sports.

Talk to friends.

Watch films or just to relax.

 3. 3. Introduction

It would be nice to have an extra-hour in our life.

But it is quite impossible to increase the amount of time that we have available.

 4. 4. Important

The reality is that we all have "extra" hours available, without having to turn back the clock.

Sometimes it takes an important request, task or a customer crisis to find our extra hour.

 5. 5. Hidden Hours Exist

But we all know that those hidden hours exist, buried in:

Unnecessary meetings,

Inefficient work processes,

Interruptions,

False starts,

PowerPoint perfection,

Misplaced files and a host of other time-wasters.

 6. 6. Strategy 01 Do a Schedule Analysis

Go back through the last few months of your schedule:

Outlook calendar, Lotus Notes or handwritten diary.

Put a checkmark next to all of the activities or meetings that truly advanced your organizational or personal goals.

 7. 7. Strategy 01 Do a Schedule Analysis

Then look at the remaining items:

Which ones had no impact on these goals?

If you had not spent the time, would it have made a difference?

See if you can find a pattern.

Finally, look forward at your next couple of months and see if there are meetings or activities that you could bypass or eliminate without any consequence.

 8. 8. Strategy 02 Ask for Feedbacks

Our time-wasting patterns are often invisible to us — but apparent to those around us.

So a second useful step is to ask your friends, subordinates or colleagues if they could identify some activities that you could do less often, do in less time, or stop doing altogether.

 9. 9. Conclusion

Time should be considered not as an enemy, but as a companion towards your life.

There's a time for love and romance, for jubilation, and for sorrow.

Theres a time to relax, and a time to catch up with the running moments.

But what is important is to be in control of time, no matter how pressured or tight any situation might be.
