Lightsaber effect
1. This is how I made the light sword effect firstly I imported the footage into after effects then created a new
white solid ( layer > new > solid) which I turned into a mask by using the pen tool which is highlighted in
black on the tool bar. With this pen tool I clicked around the light sword as shown in the screenshot and then
went into the mask settings to activate mask path to track the movements of these points throughout the
footage to mask the sword in the footage. After tracking the light sword with the white mask I then
duplicated it 4 times resulting in 5 white solids then I changed the feathering of each solid in their mask
settings with these percentages: 5% 10% 30% 60% 120% this creates a white glow around the light sword.
