a disc rather than a cylinder

5.  Fritz Pfleumer developed
magnetic tape in 1930s and
then this development became
the pioneer of audio cassettes

7. In 1962, first audio cassete was released

8. In 1982 CDs were available in stores

9.  MP3 players were released in 1990s.
