If the beam of light from the bottom of a boat reaches underwater then visibility at night would increase and
fishing would be easy. The fact is that big fish will always try and move up the food chain by gobbling up the small
fish. This is also an exhibition of predatory behavior of the big fish overpowering the small fish which is the jungle
rule; survival of the fittest.
The big fish though is both a prey and a predator because as fishermen go fishing at night, they don’t have to use
baits for their big catch. The underwater lights cause hordes of small fish to the fishing spot. With the lights
submersed, marine organisms swarm like bees to honeycomb.
When they do, they become prey for the small fish. The small fish in turn, turn into prey from predator as they go
after the bait fish and that’s when the night time fishing escapade is a success with the big catch. Often at night
time streams of light from the underwater boat lights gets absorbed which causes a certain reaction in zooplankton
and as a result the bait fish may cut itself loose from the hook. An experienced angler would know that it’s easy to
locate bait with underwater LED boat lights and feed hordes of predators waiting to chow down. As the predators
feed on the bait, they get caught by a patient fisherman. There may not be a way smarter than this to find bait.
LED enabled underwater lights effectively and easily attract fish. It’s widely known that wavelengths emanating
from blue and green lights specifically are attractive for fish and therefore chances of fish getting caught are high.

2. It is the opinion of a few that strobe lights may represent the side of a baitfish flashing. Another school of
thought is that it could be stimulation of a physiological trait which may have led to such a behavior. There is no
denying of the fact that evidence abounds in favor of underwater lights for boats attracting fish resulting in
enhancing chances of fish getting caught possibly in fishing net. The strobe lights have a dual purpose; on the
one hand it aids and abets catching hordes of fish and on the other, the boat becomes attractive too.
