The document announces that a student will be the "Star of the Week" and lists special activities planned for each day of their week. These activities include bringing in a poster on Monday, a stuffed animal on Tuesday to give clues about, a favorite book to share on Wednesday, a talent to show on Thursday, and being the teacher's helper on Friday. It also provides ideas for celebrating the student's birthday without food and suggests bringing in non-edible favors or supplies for classmates.
1. Star of the Week!
Dear Parents,
__________________ will be our “Special Star of the Week”
beginning ______ through ______. Below is a list of special
and exciting activities for your child’s special week!
Monday: Please have your child bring back the poster
board with pictures or anything else he/she would like to
display that tells information your child would like to share
with all of us. (See attached sheet for ideas.)
Tuesday: Your child may bring in his/her favorite stuffed
animal or toy. Have your child place the item in a paper
bag and write down 3 clues that will help his/her classmates
guess what it is. (Example: It is brown, it has 4 legs, it barks.
Dog!)
Wednesday: Your child may bring in a favorite picture book
that he/she would like to share with the class. The book can
be read by either your child or a teacher.
Thursday: Talent Day! Your child may entertain the class to
make everyone smile. (Singing, dancing, playing an
instrument, telling jokes, performing magic tricks, drawing a
picture, etc…)
2. Friday: Your child will have the opportunity to be Mrs.
Teitsma’s helper for the day! They will be the special person
who gets to sit in the small rocking chair next to the teacher.
***Please note: These items will be treated with respect and
will immediately go back in your child’s backpack to avoid
breakage of favorite toy, book, etc… If your child’s week is
during a shortened week, feel free to combine days.
This should be a special week for your child. We’re looking
forward to learning more about him/her!
Thanks for your shining support.
