Where our Spiritual Authority Comes From

2. Ephesians 1:17-23

17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may
give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge
of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding[a] being enlightened;
that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the
riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and
what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who
believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which
He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and
seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above
all principality and power and might and dominion, and every
name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which
is to come.
22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head
over all things to the church,23 which is His body, the fullness of
Him who fills all in all.

3. Colossians 1:9

4. Hebrews 4:11-16

11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall
according to the same example of disobedience. 12 For the word
of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged
sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of
joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and
intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His
sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to
whom we must give account.
14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed
through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold
fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who
cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in
all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore
come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy
and find grace to help in time of need.

5. Genesis 1:26
God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after
Our likeness, and let them have
complete authority over the fish of the
sea, the birds of the air, the [tame]
beasts, and over all of the earth, and
over everything that creeps upon the
earth.

6. Deuteronomy 26:16-19

A Special People of God
16 “This day the LORD your God commands you to observe
these statutes and judgments; therefore you shall be
careful to observe them with all your heart and with all
your soul. 17 Today you have proclaimed the LORD to be
your God, and that you will walk in His ways and keep His
statutes, His commandments, and His judgments, and
that you will obey His voice. 18 Also today the LORD has
proclaimed you to be His special people, just as He
promised you, that you should keep all His
commandments, 19 and that He will set you high above all
nations which He has made, in praise, in name, and in
honor, and that you may be a holy people to
the LORD your God, just as He has spoken.”

8. Matthew 8:8-10

8 But the centurion replied to Him, Lord, I am not
worthy or fit to have You come under my roof; but
only speak the word, and my servant boy will be
cured.
9 For I also am a man subject to authority, with
soldiers subject to me. And I say to one, Go, and he
goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to
my slave, Do this, and he does it.
10 When Jesus heard him, He marveled and said to
those who followed Him [[a]who adhered steadfastly
to Him, conforming to His example in living and, if
need be, in dying also], I tell you truly, I have not
found so much faith as this [b]with anyone, even in
Israel.

9. Let every person be loyally subject to the
governing (civil) authorities. For there is
no authority except from God [by His
permission, His sanction], and those that exist
do so by God’s appointment. Therefore he who
resists and sets himself up against the
authorities resists what God has
appointed and arranged [in divine order]. And
those who resist will bring down judgment upon
themselves [receiving the penalty due them].
For civil authorities are not a terror to [people
of] good conduct, but to [those of] bad
behavior. Would you have no dread of him who
is in authority? Then do what is right and you
will receive his approval and commendation.
Roman 13:1-7

10. Matthew 9:6-9
But in order that you may know that the Son of Man
has authority on earth to forgive sins andremit the penalty,
He then said to the paralyzed man, Get up! Pick up your
sleeping pad and go to your own house.
7 And he got up and went away to his own house.
8 When the crowds saw it, they were struck with
fear and awe; and they [a]recognized
God and praised and thanked Him, Who had given
such power and authority to men.
9 As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man
named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s office;
and He said to him, [b]Be My disciple [side with My
party and follow Me]. And he rose and followed Him.

11. Matthew 10:1And Jesus summoned to Him
His twelve disciples and gave them
power and authority over unclean spirits,
to drive them out, and to cure all kinds of
disease and all kinds of weakness and
infirmity.
Ephesians 1:21Far above all rule
and authority and power and dominion and
every name that is named [above every title
that can be conferred], not only in this
age and in this world, but also in the
age andthe world which are to come.

12. Colossians 2:10And you are in Him,
made full and having come to fullness of
life [in Christ you too are filled with the
Godhead—Father, Son and Holy Spirit—
and reach full spiritual stature]. And He
is the Head of all rule and authority [of
every angelic principality and power].

13. 1 Timothy 2:2For kings and all who are in positions
of authority or high responsibility, that [outwardly] we
may pass a quiet and undisturbed life [and inwardly] a
peaceable one in all godliness and reverence and
seriousness in every way.
Hebrews 13:7Remember your leaders and superiors
in authority [for it was they] who brought to you the
Word of God. Observe attentively and consider their
manner of living (the outcome of their well-spent lives)
and imitate their faith (their conviction that God exists
and is the Creator and Ruler of all things, the Provider and
Bestower of eternal salvation through Christ, and their
leaning of the entire human personality on God in
absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and
goodness).

14. Hebrews 13:17Obey your spiritual
leaders and submit to them [continually
recognizing their authority over you],
for they are constantly keeping watch
over your souls and guarding your
spiritual welfare, as men who will have to
render an account [of their trust]. [Do
your part to] let them do this with
gladness and not with
sighing and groaning, for that would not
be profitable to you [either].

Seek God on your prayer assignment
Ask the Holy Spirit to search and cleanse your
heart (Open the eyes of your heart)
