Thesis Statement: The Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act (R.A. 9174) of the
Philippines should be prioritized and reinstated because of its failure to serve its purpose in the past,
its ability to lessen the rising human–caused extinction rates, and its possible influence in restoring
and promoting action regarding wildlife conservation.
The loss of biodiversity and wildlife is becoming a larger problem every year yet most people
disregard it and its consequences. Wildlife plays a big part in maintaining environmental support to
human life––serving as a source of food, contributing to agriculture, aiding in medical research, and
many more. The continued erosion of ecosystem and species diversity threatens the progress to a
sustainable society and lessens the chances of stable environmental conditions in the future. As the

Goals Of Wildlife Conservation
The main goals of wildlife conservation are to preserve and protect nature so that it will be around
for future generations of both wildlife and humans to enjoy. It is essentially the attempt to protect
endangered animal and plant species and their natural habitats. In researching two different
vertebrate species in the United Kingdom, one that has benefitted from a population increase in
recent years and one that has recently seen a decline in population, the similarities and differences in
the various challenges that they face can be investigated. The proposed solutions to improve the
situation for the declining species will then be discussed.
Species Recent History
The UK population of the greater horseshoe bat, Rhinolophus ferrumequinum, has significantly
increased over the last twenty years (Bat Conservation Trust, 2017). This recent success can be
attributed to many factors such as the change in climate providing a more favourable environment
for populations to grow. The increased temperatures in the spring season result in pups being born
earlier in the year and a greater abundance of sustenance being available (Froidevaux et al, 2017).
Females will mate from autumn until spring visiting various breeding territories in doing so. This
enables the females that rarely change colonies, to strengthen their colonies by choosing the best
possible genetic material to pass to their offspring (Rossiter et al, 2000).

Animals are put in captivity for animal conservation, and to educate the public about how
important it is to keep these animals alive. It is often argued that zoos are a bad place to put
animals, but studies have shown how endangered animals are better off in a zoo environment.
Animals that go extinct in the wild around the world are shown to have a successful life in zoos.
Even though some zoos have a bad reputation, they are actually really beneficial for wildlife
conservation. The purpose of a zoo is to conserve animal life, but instead, zoos are being used for

animals is going to the zoo. By bringing people and zoos together, people learn more about zoos and
the animals that are inside. People also gain an appreciation for animals and their habitats.
Many zoos have breeding programs for endangered species. In the wild, they would have a hard
time trying to mate and breed because of not being able to find the right species. Zoos provide a
better habitat so the animals do not get bored, are well cared for, and have enough space. Captive

and spending time with these animals as their everyday life. I should be a wildlife biologist so I

(Brown). This was one of the last explored areas in the west. This establishing of a national park

According to David Stauth, towards the end of the "1800s" humans began to eradicate the wolf
population in the Yellowstone area. (David Stauth) By "1926" the wolf population was destroyed.

Earth is home to a collection of wonderful flora and fauna. From the bold and beautiful macaw to
the miniscule pygmy fruit bat, ever ecosystem hosts a multitude of fantastic creatures and fauna.

red list as endangered. It is estimated that every day 150–200 fauna and flora species become extinct.
