Argumentative Essay On The Internet
The lack of concentration when using Internet to read is an undeniable phenomenon. These days
Internet is widely used by people around the world, therefore, it is hard to not accept the
commercial aspect of it. Although Internet is a perfect source, there are unforeseen effects of
online reading from a typical user view such as a challenge to be focused. In my experience, as
soon as I entered "theatlantic.com" to read my chosen article, inevitable things took my focus
such as registration application form, ads, and even website menu on top which were similar to
distractions that Nicholas Carr wrote about in his essay. Moreover, as I started scrolling down to
read "What Isn't for sale" by Michael J. Sandel, footnote with share bottoms of different social
media showed up to let your friends know about this article which was entirely distracting.
Consequently, I even stopped reading and decided to check my Facebook account after a long time.
At this point, I realized how Net is structured to distract users and obviously is affecting the process
of understanding and receiving the data indeed. I will go through in more details with my first–hand
experience in the following essay.
I would like to summarize the "Is google making us stupid" article and extract its intended purpose.
Nicholas Carr started realizing how his reading skills was changed by using internet and the reality
of shallow mindedness as a result of it as well. He mentions "Net is chipping away my capacity to

Argumentative Essay On Online Education
Online education is a form of education which is administered and developed through the internet.
The transition from Classroom education to online education has been accepted widely by many
countries. It is one of the upcoming trends in education sectors all around the World. With improved
technologies, it has become easier to learn.
As to every topic, there co–exist both supporting and denying arguments in this regard. Online
education can be possible anywhere with a mobile, Laptop, Desktop or tab. Just having a stable
internet could get you anywhere like getting lectured by a professor from Stanford or MIT. Online
education is possible nowadays even for free through websites like Edx, Coursera etc., Online
education is like an ocean, no matter how much we learn there will be more. Access is one of the
happening things from Online education. The opportunity cost of Online education is very high.
The time we spend travelling through these busy roads is cut down entirely. The cost we bear on
books, travelling, uniforms, etc., is cut down drastically. Flexible schedules are possible. Online
learning creates the ability to study whenever and wherever. Also, it creates flexibility to study
around family obligations.
Money, Time and Values are important for any living being. While we see that trends are changing,
people tend to claim moral values are deteriorating. In some way, most of us want to form loving
families, raise our children to be good citizens, stand up for the downtrodden and protect our
communities from harm. We still form friendships, business partnerships based on old–fashioned
criteria. When our trust is abused or we are unfairly treated, we see that as a major violation of our
relationship and we judge the wrongdoer accordingly. Though online education does not provide a
mentor like the classroom–based education does, people still inculcate values through the beautiful
curriculum and courses such as right life, Happiness, positive living etc.,
Online education has proved to be one of the greatest boons in today's world. But unfortunately, India
is still lacking to accept distance education/ Online education as equivalent to classroom education.
India is now the third largest online market for

The Pros And Cons Of Wi-Fi In College
How many times did you find yourself on your Wi–Fi compatible device, only to find out that you
have been disconnected from a game, movie, or music you were streaming over Wi–Fi? These
occurrences are not often things you encounter when at home, but when living on a campus with
thousands of people connected to the internet problems are bound to happen. Recently our campus
suffered a problem with the internet causing students to be disconnected from the school's Wi–Fi.
With problems of this nature consistently occurring students are left without a resource to study,
communicate, and entertainment themselves on their free time. This problem concerns me because
I am a student at this university who relies mostly on using the internet.
Attending Norwich University is not cheap and with the added fees the school has, it does not make
it better on the student. Alike other students there is about a $900 technology fee paid along with
tuition which you would expect that for the price you are paying you will receive outstanding
internet results and tech support. We are an academic institution where academics are the most
important part of our daily lives. With the consist failure of the Wi–Fi connection research conducted
by students is not possible and could be a consequence by which a student may suffer from. The
time we live in is a time where technology leads not just in society but also in the classroom. In a
current statement the FCC state that "schools do not have the

Argumentative Essay On Internet Addiction
Child technology addiction is a significant problem in America. This raises concerns for parents
about their children's health. Six articles from the New York Times target parents and debate how
screen time should be limited (if at all) and whether the internet is the problem or the content it
provides is. Authors Bergman, Boyd, Tynes, Young, and Potenza all agree on internet addictions
existence, but disagree on how the problem should be solved. Bergman and Boyd do not view
internet addiction as a problem, instead they suggest that the social constructs that cause it are.
Potenza and Tynes view the internet as a platform that allows access to negative content. Young
concludes that internet addiction is problematic and lays out a policy for how it should be limited at
each age. Because the writers are not making the same type of argument, the debate cannot progress
past definition. While all the writers agree on conjecture, how they define excessive technology use
varies. The writers agree the internet is a tool that has a positive impact on children if used as a
database for learning, but the writers define the internet's other uses differently. Boyd views the
internet as a "relief valve" from the daily stress of school and as a platform for quick
communication. Boyd supports her claim by linking technology addiction to "countries where there's
even greater pressure to succeed (China, South Korea) and fewer social opportunities", (Boyd).
Similarly, Bergman sees "digital

Dangers of the Internet
There are many pitfalls and perils on the Internet. Some of them are easy to avoid while other are
not so obvious. Some of the Pitfalls and perils are annoying, while others are deadly to your
computer. Still others are humorous and entertaining. There are many dangers on the Internet. This
paper will try to cover some of them.
The biggest dangers of the Internet are virus. Viruses are small programs that "infect" computers.
Most viruses are made to "steal" and or "destroy" data stored on the infected computer. Viruses, that
destroy data, write their code into a file and when that file is accessed it rewrites itself in to more files
until the virus corrupters or "infects" a file that the computer needs to run...show more content...
E–mailed Viruses are harder to avoid. Opening an attached file can trigger them or by touching the
message that contains the attached file and then the file menu bar of the E–mail program. (Email
Hole Exposes Computers) The seconded way to start a virus is because of a hole in Netscape's mail
program and also MS's Outlook. A new way for Viruses to be spread by E
–mail is to put the whole
code for the virus in the subject line that way when the computer read the subject line it
unwittingly activated the virus. The newest way for people to get viruses is through the web
pages. This is done by putting the virus code into a script on the web page, now when the page is
accessed the viruses executes the viruses code. (Virus Thrives on HTML) This can make a virus
very prolific if a lot of people visit the web page.
Crackers use viruses for their destructive ways. Crackers are people who go out of their way to
cause damage to other peoples systems through the use of viruses and direct hacking. Crackers
are not hackers. Calling a Cracker a hacker is like comparing a red delicious apple to a golden
delicious apple. Hackers are computer enthuses that hack, break in to, systems in order to learn
about the system. Hackers as a rule do not do any damage to the system. Crackers are the ones to
give hackers bad repartitions. Crackers use virus

Argumentative Essay On The Internet
Ever since the creation of the world wide web in 1983, its use has grown exponentially. Today, the
average citizen cannot go through the entirety of their day without accessing the internet. It has been
used for education, entertainment, communication, and more. In recent months, the availability of
the internet has become a major conflict especially among Internet service providers. They, along
with the Federal Communications Commission, have been trying to get rid of net neutrality. Net
neutrality is the principle that all content on the internet should be treated equally, regardless of
what is being searched. The major Internet service providers wish to get rid of net neutrality for
personal gain. They would like to throttle and control the sites that individuals access for profit,
even blocking specific content if deemed necessary. Repealing net neutrality will be difficult to
undo. As the repeal has passed, this may be the end of anonymity on the internet and the equal
playing field will be gone. For the past month, net neutrality has been a grossing topic in the United
States. However, it has been a waging war that started many years ago back in 2015, when the
Federal Communications Commission was for net neutrality. During this time, a 313 page document
was released defining the rules of net neutrality and legal justifications for them. The FCC went on
to classify Internet service providers as "common carriers" so that they would be in compliance with

The Internet: Out with the Old
In the book The Shallows by Nicholas Carr focuses on the issue of the Internet becoming our
second nature to us humans and replacing everything we know now with technology in a passage
that appears in a chapter called, "Hal and Me." Nicholas Carr opens the passage by writing, "The net
has become my all–purpose medium..." (Carr 6). Next, he indicates that having access to so much
material in a matter of seconds that he has all this time on his hands to spend like a kid in a candy
shop. Following that, Carr points out how other people, such as Bruce Friedman, a blogger who
talks about the internet changing his mental state, have "almost totally lost the ability to read and
absorb a longish article on the web or in print" (Carr 7). Finally, Carr closes the passage by stating
reading books in the modern times is obsolete or even weird to see someone reading rather than
using the internet. Some might be troubled by what Carr says. They would argue that using the
internet lets you absorb information faster and more efficient than pushing through chapters of a book
is a better way to think about the issue. On the other hand, Carr's position on this issue is good one
for several reasons. One is that people are losing interest completely with reading books or anything
that involves having long, intensive focus because of the internet. We can see why this idea makes
sense if we consider the following

Internet has done more harm than good.
The Internet is undoubtedly the most crucial technology of the modern world. It increases
technology advancement and improve communication and transportation. The Internet is a global
computer network providing a variety of information and communication services, consisting of
organized networks using standard communication rules. While people think of the Internet as a good
source of getting knowledge, there are many disadvantages associated to it.
One of the main harmful effects of the Internet is its abusive uses. Internet promotes the identity
theft and destroys valuable documents of public information through spam messages and viruses.

Ehmke, (2013). For instance, a school boy who has obesity and his friends tease him for his
obesity in the social networking sites and along other people are also tease him and he fell very
embarrassing and insulted.
Proponents argue that the Internet is an abundant source of information and entertainment which
offers worldwide information in the following areas such as marketing law, education and movies.
However, some of the information given on the Internet could be wrong. For example, Internet gives
information of all the fields but the information is not verified and it could be incorrect and
misleading those who get ideas for professional studies from Internet.
There is also the argument that the Internet has become an indispensable tool of communication
which has helped to bring the world closer through social networking websites such as Skype,
Facebook, Twitter and other medium. On the contrary, these social networking sites have some
negative effects. For example, most of pedestrian use mobile phone and social media at traffic
lights. This may lead to some potential accidents that can cause serious injuries to pedestrians as
well as people in moving vehicles. Pallack, (2013)" A truck driver was using his cell phone to look

Argumentative Essay On Internet Censorship
In America, we pride ourselves with fact that we are allowed freedom of speech. We are allowed to
say what we want when we want. Even if there may be some type of repercussions. According to
Merriam dictionary, freedom of speech is defined as the right to express information, ideas, and
opinion free of government restrictions based on content and subject only to reasonable limitation as
guaranteed by the first and fourteenth amendments of the US Constitution (Merriam–Webster, 12/12
/2017). But what if that were to change? My paper will discuss internet censorship. Is it helping us or
is it actually hindering us?
Internet censorship is when certain information published on the WWW is unable to be accessed
by viewers. The use of censorship is said to be created in order to block users from seeing
information that may be considered harmful or infringes on copyrights. It can also be used to stop
publishers from creating and releasing information that can be harmful to others. One of the main
ways the government is able to censor internet users is through filtering, it is a technique created to
block or rejects users from accessing certain sites and or documents. The government alone is not
the only institution that blocks certain material schools, places of employment, and libraries
implement filters. Not all filters work the same, there are some that block sites due to known
objectional information, some use embedded coding to decide if it is suitable, some use humans to
check sites, and others use a list of words that have been banned. Other types of internet censorship
used are IP blocking, DNS redirection and filtering, URL filtering, and packet filtering.
One of the main arguments regarding internet censorship is whether or not our government should
be allowed to regulate what information we see while on the internet. While I can say that both
sides have proof to back their claims regarding why they should not be allowed I find that I am
neutral in the matter. On one side, I understand the use of filtering websites, it blocks harmful
information from being seen. For example, a child being able to access pornographic sites, a sexual
predator from being able to able access inappropriate sites, or

Pros and Cons of the Internet Essay
The Internet is more popular today than it was years ago. As technology advances, the use of the

most outstanding innovation in the field of communication in the history of humanity. It is a global
meeting place where people from all parts of the world can collaborate. Additionally, it is a service
available on the computer, through which anyone who has access to the Internet can receive. The

During one's spare time, one may decide either to play an online game or to join a chat room. The
objective person may say that browsing the Internet and performing that kind of activity
encourages laziness but I beg to differ. The virtual world can actually be constructive. It
stimulates the mind to try a wide range of games right in arms length. You will be able to choose
which game satisfies your desire. In addition, chat rooms allow you to meet new people and learn
about different cultures by interaction and helps in your conversation skills. Since the person is not
visual, there is no need to fear having a conversation because the confidence level should grow
behind the scenes. A chat room is a way to learn, talk and socialize (Crystal).
Meanwhile, business is another addition to what the Internet has to offer. Businessmen and women
both utilize the Internet for so many reasons. It comes in handy for advertising purposes, which
brings forth the term E–commerce. Ecommerce is the concept used for any type of commercial
maneuvering, or business deals that involves the transfer of information across the globe via Internet
(Pakhare). This will target a wider network of potential customers rather than seclude it to one area.
Can this be harmful? It is more of an asset to the businessperson. Likewise, the average person
performs business online too. They flock towards online banking services, which is more convenient

There can be both positive and negative effects of the internet on society. With society revolving
around the internet, it is clear that the digital age can have both beneficial and harmful impacts on
the 21st Century world, including communications, addictions, dating, schooling, work, savings, and
hobbies and pastimes.
One of the most affected and obvious impacts of the internet is on communications. The internet does
make it easier to reach out to other humans both in and outside of our cultures; however, it is more
difficult to have meaningful relationships with people you only know as images and texts on a
computer screen. People can communicate with almost any person at almost any time, but is that
reaching out really keeping us in touch with our humanity? I personally do not have a social
media account, but I do know that people can get addicted to Facebook, Twitter, and other social
media. People can misuse and abuse social media by forgetting that either there is a real person past
that screen or forgetting the value of seeing people face to face.
The internet also helps people each year find their loved ones online with online dating. My aunt
and uncle met by being a member of an online dating. But people also get addicted to online games
and that makes it even more difficult for people to communicate. At the same time people get
addicted to online media sites which is another major problem because they lose focus on the real
world around them. There can most

The Importance Of Technology And The Internet
How has technology and the Internet have brought young people closer together? For today's
teens, friendships can start digitally: 57% of teens have met a new friend online. Social media and
online gaming are the most common digital venues for meeting friends. Phone calls are less
common early in a friendship, but are still an important way that teens talk with their closest
friends. The Internet can help a person who has lost connection with someone from their past and
end up renewing the old relationship with the person that they had lost contact with. It may also
help people who want to talk to someone from in Hawaii to talk to someone maybe in France, or
even someone halfway around the world. Technology is a great tool and it may have...show more

While both groups are equally likely to say they feel more connected to friends through their social
media use, 36% of smartphone owners say they feel a lot better connected to friends while 25% of
teens without smartphone access report the same degree of connectedness. Technology helps bring
people together and keep friends and family connected with one another. There are some people
who spend all their time on the internet and it's up to them to make the effort to go outside but there
are also people who can balance both out and enjoy both internet/technology and outdoor fun. When
the outdoor fun is done, the fun doesn't necessary end there because you can stay in contact and
play/hangout with your friends and family over the internet inside (short distance or even long
distance) Yes there are people who like to cyber bully and to hurt, harm, and bring people
self–esteem down, but those people who feel like everyone are bullying them and stuff who either
take their life or think about doing so are kind of insecure in my eyes because they can turn away
and ignore those people. Unless if it's physical bullying then they need to find help to stop it. The
important thing is to be aware and knowledgeable of the dangers of using the internet/technology.
Also ignore the people who feel it's right to bully others (don't let verbal bullying get to you), and the
lies they say, if people believe them or ask you

Argumentative Essay On Internet Privacy
Internet Privacy is paramount to protecting one's information online. The Internet does not forget
and records everything you do. The amount of information a person freely gives away everyday
may surprise, or even scare some. Over the decades technology has improved by light years, but
keeping that tech secure gets harder. Everyone who uses the internet has a digital footprint; however,
the larger the footprint the more risk there is for having personal data put online. Information is
highly valuable to today's society, but privacy should still be venerated. Before going over Internet

It is relative to the geographic location, because of the laws. It is also subjective to the content of
the information. Privacy policies vary on every website, application and software. Information

sometimes referred to as the Digital Age, anything that is connected to the Internet of Things has
a record, and each of these records are valuable to somebody. The records could be which link was
clicked after a search, or maybe the search itself. It could be a Facebook post that was made, or a
tweet. As innocent as those can be, the records can also contain sensitive information like credit card
numbers, and even texts or pictures sent. Imagine the most embarrassing moment, and then imagine
that moment finding its way online, and becoming viral. After it goes viral, an induvial would have
a rigorous time just trying to get the content removed. The main reason the saying, "the internet

archived, copied, re–posted on other sites, downloaded by others, or backed up on other servers

Argumentative Essay On Digital Technology
A Pew Research Center survey uncovered that "92% of adolescents ages 12–17" reported using the
internet daily (Wartella, 2016). Not only is technology commonly used by adults, but this data from
the Pew Research Center suggests adolescents additionally use technology for countless other
purposes. The increasing omnipresence of the Internet in the lives of adolescents is by now well
recognized. Furthermore, adolescents use digital technology at a scale never seen before to operate
both unprofessional and professional applications without fully understanding the consequences.
Adolescents use technology as both a personal and an educational tool; however, the long–term
developmental effects technology will have are highly debated. Within that decade of development,
digital technology has come to be used for a multitude of things, including personal communication
and educational development.
Unlike teens, who emphasize on social aspects of the internet, adults commonly make use of the
practical applications such as banking, marketing, and commercial communication. Until the last
decade, technology has been used primarily for business, where it was believed too expensive for
personal use. Since the availability of digital technology has become far more common in the recent
years, the concern for how this technology is affecting students has grown tremendously. Most teens
are not using digital technology for online business and marketing; regardless, the equipment both

Argumentative Essay On The Internet
As technology begins to advance every day it starts to have a large impact on us humans, not only
on just our lifestyle but also the way we prefer to receive information. In the novel The Shallows,
by Nicholas Carr, he proclaims a biased argument about the internet consequently how it is
changing our ability to think logically because we are choosing the easier route to gain knowledge.
Additionally, argues that due to Google we lack our critical thinking skills causing less knowledge
to be created. The Internet is designed to connect people on a personal and commercial level, on the
other hand, Carr rejects that idea, moreover views it as making us individuals more shallow by using
the Internet. Despite the benefits the internet has, it is degrading us and we don't even know it. The
internet is constantly changing the way our brain works. Additional use of the internet causes our
brains to decrease the attention span we have. We were all born with a blank slate of minds with a
basic brain structure, though our synaptic (nerve cells) connect accordingly by experience. "Cells
that fire together wire together." (Carr 27). If animals learn through repetition, us humans might as
well. The consistent usage of the internet to receive information quickly makes the human brain
have a shorter attention span. Due to neuroplasticity, we are utilized to receiving information so
quickly, when we are given something like a book, it makes it harder for us to understand the text

In the present day, the development of internet causes considerable changes in social relations and
people lifestyle. Internet users spend most of their life online. One of the recent trends is the
development of social networks, which encourage the creation of realistic communities. In such a
situation, the question concerning the impact of Internet on human being, especially on human brain
and behavior arises. In this concern, views on the impact of Internet vary consistently. On the one
hand, Internet is recognized as a valuable intermediate, which helps users to share and broadcast
information easily. But, another view on the impact of internet, that Internet is noticed as a threat to

Obviously, amateur human brain can become weak to the annoying impact of the information
overload, although the brain can adapt to the huge information flow and process the information
selectively that leads to the adaptation of human way of thinking. So, internet can effect not only
human brain and behavior but also the way users think. The information overload and the way the
information is delivered to users cause consistent changes in the way of thinking.
In this regard, researchers (Carr, 2010) point out that internet causes the problem of the high level of
distraction and inability of users to focus on specific tasks. People become constantly distracted
under the impact of internet and telecommunication technologies (Carr, 2010). Internet involves
multitasking as the principle activity users have to perform while surfing internet. As they access
internet, they start performing multiple tasks. For example, users can search for the specific
information but, as they find the information which is slightly different from the target one, they
may grow interested in this piece of information. They access new websites and keep looking
through various information which may be not even related to the topic or issue they have been
searching for at the opening, when they have juts accessed internet. Moreover, even after the
multitasking ends, fractured thinking and lack of focus persist (Richtel, 2010). The absence of focus

Essay on Impact of the Internet on Education
For the majority of people, it is difficult to imagine what life would be like without the internet. The
world of education has also undergone tremendous change since the advent of the internet. It allows
students to quickly obtain a vast amount of information on every subject. They also get the
convenience of going to class and completing assignments, permitting them to schedule their time
with great flexibility. The internet has become one of the easiest, fastest and most effective tools that
can be used to explore and comprehend more about the world; however, it is not without problems.
The uses of the internet by students changes their thinking patterns, distracts their attention and
reduces their interpersonal skills.

Thousands of websites are distracting students from studying time. In an experiment at Cornell
University, students who used internet–connected laptops during a lecture did much worse on a
subsequent test than students who did not use the internet (Carr, 2010). It indicated that using the
internet in class impacts students' attention span (2010). Distractions can take attention away from
learning. In fact, using the internet does not promote study efficiency, but wastes time.
Furthermore, the internet damages students' interpersonal skills. Social media and instant messaging
are major communication tools for students, which lead them to have few opportunities to talk in
person. Recently, a multi–functional cell phone can replace a computer with internet access. There is
a study in England that found that almost forty–percent of students surveyed said they could not live
without their cell phones (Birdwell, 2007). Also, nearly ten–percent of students said that using cell
phones caused them to lose their relationships and jobs (2007). Besides, through online education,
students cannot get face–to–face instruction from professors and also lose their chances to
communicate with classmates.
In conclusion, the influence of internet hangs over the world of education and creates effects on
thinking patterns, concentration and the social skills of students. Under the growing trend of the
digital campus, the negative effects of the internet in education can be

Some parents are not aware of dangers of internet that brings to their children particularly making
friends through internet. For example, their children might get cheated with someone else on
internet and their children will not tell what happen to them when they encounter danger.
According to BBC News, a 47 year old man defrauded a 13 year old girl online and asked to meet
face to face. Luckily, the girl's mother found out beforehand or else her daughter might be in danger.
From this news, we can see that there internet friends are not always honest and they are more likely
to consider as un–trustful strangers. Therefore, parents should concern more about their children,
teach them about the dangers of making friends on internet, and avoid them from going out with a
stranger.
With the development of internet, people are able to meet new friends who have the same interest or
hobby through the internet. Although, it is easy to make friends on internet, people do not know
whether the person they are talking to is good or bad. Some people will also spend most of their
time on internet which leads them to less interaction with friends and family. Parents should concern
more about their children while they are meeting new friends on internet. Although the internet
allows people to stay in touch with distant family and friends, I think the negative effects

Argumentative Essay Internet

  • 1. Argumentative Essay On The Internet The lack of concentration when using Internet to read is an undeniable phenomenon. These days Internet is widely used by people around the world, therefore, it is hard to not accept the commercial aspect of it. Although Internet is a perfect source, there are unforeseen effects of online reading from a typical user view such as a challenge to be focused. In my experience, as soon as I entered "theatlantic.com" to read my chosen article, inevitable things took my focus such as registration application form, ads, and even website menu on top which were similar to distractions that Nicholas Carr wrote about in his essay. Moreover, as I started scrolling down to read "What Isn't for sale" by Michael J. Sandel, footnote with share bottoms of different social media showed up to let your friends know about this article which was entirely distracting. Consequently, I even stopped reading and decided to check my Facebook account after a long time. At this point, I realized how Net is structured to distract users and obviously is affecting the process of understanding and receiving the data indeed. I will go through in more details with my first–hand experience in the following essay. I would like to summarize the "Is google making us stupid" article and extract its intended purpose. Nicholas Carr started realizing how his reading skills was changed by using internet and the reality of shallow mindedness as a result of it as well. He mentions "Net is chipping away my capacity to Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Although technology has allowed humans to find information quicker and multi–task, it has also caused the loss of ability to completely process information). Cover this for both stakeholders. c.Thesis (The internet is causing damage to a critical thinking, where others believe that its an important part of every person's lifestyles). • 3. Argumentative Essay On Online Education Online education is a form of education which is administered and developed through the internet. The transition from Classroom education to online education has been accepted widely by many countries. It is one of the upcoming trends in education sectors all around the World. With improved technologies, it has become easier to learn. As to every topic, there co–exist both supporting and denying arguments in this regard. Online education can be possible anywhere with a mobile, Laptop, Desktop or tab. Just having a stable internet could get you anywhere like getting lectured by a professor from Stanford or MIT. Online education is possible nowadays even for free through websites like Edx, Coursera etc., Online education is like an ocean, no matter how much we learn there will be more. Access is one of the happening things from Online education. The opportunity cost of Online education is very high. The time we spend travelling through these busy roads is cut down entirely. The cost we bear on books, travelling, uniforms, etc., is cut down drastically. Flexible schedules are possible. Online learning creates the ability to study whenever and wherever. Also, it creates flexibility to study around family obligations. Money, Time and Values are important for any living being. While we see that trends are changing, people tend to claim moral values are deteriorating. In some way, most of us want to form loving families, raise our children to be good citizens, stand up for the downtrodden and protect our communities from harm. We still form friendships, business partnerships based on old–fashioned criteria. When our trust is abused or we are unfairly treated, we see that as a major violation of our relationship and we judge the wrongdoer accordingly. Though online education does not provide a mentor like the classroom–based education does, people still inculcate values through the beautiful curriculum and courses such as right life, Happiness, positive living etc., Online education has proved to be one of the greatest boons in today's world. But unfortunately, India is still lacking to accept distance education/ Online education as equivalent to classroom education. India is now the third largest online market for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. The Pros And Cons Of Wi-Fi In College How many times did you find yourself on your Wi–Fi compatible device, only to find out that you have been disconnected from a game, movie, or music you were streaming over Wi–Fi? These occurrences are not often things you encounter when at home, but when living on a campus with thousands of people connected to the internet problems are bound to happen. Recently our campus suffered a problem with the internet causing students to be disconnected from the school's Wi–Fi. With problems of this nature consistently occurring students are left without a resource to study, communicate, and entertainment themselves on their free time. This problem concerns me because I am a student at this university who relies mostly on using the internet. Attending Norwich University is not cheap and with the added fees the school has, it does not make it better on the student. Alike other students there is about a $900 technology fee paid along with tuition which you would expect that for the price you are paying you will receive outstanding internet results and tech support. We are an academic institution where academics are the most important part of our daily lives. With the consist failure of the Wi–Fi connection research conducted by students is not possible and could be a consequence by which a student may suffer from. The time we live in is a time where technology leads not just in society but also in the classroom. In a current statement the FCC state that "schools do not have the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Argumentative Essay On Internet Addiction Child technology addiction is a significant problem in America. This raises concerns for parents about their children's health. Six articles from the New York Times target parents and debate how screen time should be limited (if at all) and whether the internet is the problem or the content it provides is. Authors Bergman, Boyd, Tynes, Young, and Potenza all agree on internet addictions existence, but disagree on how the problem should be solved. Bergman and Boyd do not view internet addiction as a problem, instead they suggest that the social constructs that cause it are. Potenza and Tynes view the internet as a platform that allows access to negative content. Young concludes that internet addiction is problematic and lays out a policy for how it should be limited at each age. Because the writers are not making the same type of argument, the debate cannot progress past definition. While all the writers agree on conjecture, how they define excessive technology use varies. The writers agree the internet is a tool that has a positive impact on children if used as a database for learning, but the writers define the internet's other uses differently. Boyd views the internet as a "relief valve" from the daily stress of school and as a platform for quick communication. Boyd supports her claim by linking technology addiction to "countries where there's even greater pressure to succeed (China, South Korea) and fewer social opportunities", (Boyd). Similarly, Bergman sees "digital Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Dangers of the Internet Essay Dangers of the Internet There are many pitfalls and perils on the Internet. Some of them are easy to avoid while other are not so obvious. Some of the Pitfalls and perils are annoying, while others are deadly to your computer. Still others are humorous and entertaining. There are many dangers on the Internet. This paper will try to cover some of them. The biggest dangers of the Internet are virus. Viruses are small programs that "infect" computers. Most viruses are made to "steal" and or "destroy" data stored on the infected computer. Viruses, that destroy data, write their code into a file and when that file is accessed it rewrites itself in to more files until the virus corrupters or "infects" a file that the computer needs to run...show more content... E–mailed Viruses are harder to avoid. Opening an attached file can trigger them or by touching the message that contains the attached file and then the file menu bar of the E–mail program. (Email Hole Exposes Computers) The seconded way to start a virus is because of a hole in Netscape's mail program and also MS's Outlook. A new way for Viruses to be spread by E –mail is to put the whole code for the virus in the subject line that way when the computer read the subject line it unwittingly activated the virus. The newest way for people to get viruses is through the web pages. This is done by putting the virus code into a script on the web page, now when the page is accessed the viruses executes the viruses code. (Virus Thrives on HTML) This can make a virus very prolific if a lot of people visit the web page. Crackers use viruses for their destructive ways. Crackers are people who go out of their way to cause damage to other peoples systems through the use of viruses and direct hacking. Crackers are not hackers. Calling a Cracker a hacker is like comparing a red delicious apple to a golden delicious apple. Hackers are computer enthuses that hack, break in to, systems in order to learn about the system. • 7. Argumentative Essay On The Internet Ever since the creation of the world wide web in 1983, its use has grown exponentially. Today, the average citizen cannot go through the entirety of their day without accessing the internet. It has been used for education, entertainment, communication, and more. In recent months, the availability of the internet has become a major conflict especially among Internet service providers. They, along with the Federal Communications Commission, have been trying to get rid of net neutrality. Net neutrality is the principle that all content on the internet should be treated equally, regardless of what is being searched. The major Internet service providers wish to get rid of net neutrality for personal gain. They would like to throttle and control the sites that individuals access for profit, even blocking specific content if deemed necessary. Repealing net neutrality will be difficult to undo. As the repeal has passed, this may be the end of anonymity on the internet and the equal playing field will be gone. For the past month, net neutrality has been a grossing topic in the United States. However, it has been a waging war that started many years ago back in 2015, when the Federal Communications Commission was for net neutrality. During this time, a 313 page document was released defining the rules of net neutrality and legal justifications for them. The FCC went on to classify Internet service providers as "common carriers" so that they would be in compliance with Title II of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Argumentative Essay On The Internet John Gentner Professor Minnick ENG–W131 10 October 2017 The Internet: Out with the Old In the book The Shallows by Nicholas Carr focuses on the issue of the Internet becoming our second nature to us humans and replacing everything we know now with technology in a passage that appears in a chapter called, "Hal and Me." Nicholas Carr opens the passage by writing, "The net has become my all–purpose medium..." (Carr 6). Next, he indicates that having access to so much material in a matter of seconds that he has all this time on his hands to spend like a kid in a candy shop. Following that, Carr points out how other people, such as Bruce Friedman, a blogger who talks about the internet changing his mental state, have "almost totally lost the ability to read and absorb a longish article on the web or in print" (Carr 7). Finally, Carr closes the passage by stating reading books in the modern times is obsolete or even weird to see someone reading rather than using the internet. Some might be troubled by what Carr says. They would argue that using the internet lets you absorb information faster and more efficient than pushing through chapters of a book is a better way to think about the issue. On the other hand, Carr's position on this issue is good one for several reasons. One is that people are losing interest completely with reading books or anything that involves having long, intensive focus because of the internet. We can see why this idea makes sense if we consider the following Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Internet has done more harm than good Internet has done more harm than good. The Internet is undoubtedly the most crucial technology of the modern world. It increases technology advancement and improve communication and transportation. The Internet is a global computer network providing a variety of information and communication services, consisting of organized networks using standard communication rules. While people think of the Internet as a good source of getting knowledge, there are many disadvantages associated to it. One of the main harmful effects of the Internet is its abusive uses. Proponents argue that the Internet is an abundant source of information and entertainment which offers worldwide information in the following areas such as marketing law, education and movies. However, some of the information given on the Internet could be wrong. For example, Internet gives information of all the fields but the information is not verified and it could be incorrect and misleading those who get ideas for professional studies from Internet. There is also the argument that the Internet has become an indispensable tool of communication which has helped to bring the world closer through social networking websites such as Skype, Facebook, Twitter and other medium. On the contrary, these social networking sites have some negative effects. For example, most of pedestrian use mobile phone and social media at traffic lights. This may lead to some potential accidents that can cause serious injuries to pedestrians as well as people in moving vehicles. • 10. Argumentative Essay On Internet Censorship In America, we pride ourselves with fact that we are allowed freedom of speech. We are allowed to say what we want when we want. Even if there may be some type of repercussions. According to Merriam dictionary, freedom of speech is defined as the right to express information, ideas, and opinion free of government restrictions based on content and subject only to reasonable limitation as guaranteed by the first and fourteenth amendments of the US Constitution (Merriam–Webster, 12/12 /2017). But what if that were to change? My paper will discuss internet censorship. Is it helping us or is it actually hindering us? Internet censorship is when certain information published on the WWW is unable to be accessed by viewers. The use of censorship is said to be created in order to block users from seeing information that may be considered harmful or infringes on copyrights. It can also be used to stop publishers from creating and releasing information that can be harmful to others. One of the main ways the government is able to censor internet users is through filtering, it is a technique created to block or rejects users from accessing certain sites and or documents. The government alone is not the only institution that blocks certain material schools, places of employment, and libraries implement filters. Not all filters work the same, there are some that block sites due to known objectional information, some use embedded coding to decide if it is suitable, some use humans to check sites, and others use a list of words that have been banned. Other types of internet censorship used are IP blocking, DNS redirection and filtering, URL filtering, and packet filtering. One of the main arguments regarding internet censorship is whether or not our government should be allowed to regulate what information we see while on the internet. While I can say that both sides have proof to back their claims regarding why they should not be allowed I find that I am neutral in the matter. On one side, I understand the use of filtering websites, it blocks harmful information from being seen. For example, a child being able to access pornographic sites, a sexual predator from being able to able access inappropriate sites, or Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Pros and Cons of the Internet Essay The Internet is more popular today than it was years ago. As technology advances, the use of the Internet grows yonder and is an amazing addition in our lives. The Internet has been perhaps the most outstanding innovation in the field of communication in the history of humanity. It is a global meeting place where people from all parts of the world can collaborate. Additionally, it is a service available on the computer, through which anyone who has access to the Internet can receive. The Internet is for a business owner, an employee, and a student. The objective person may say that browsing the Internet and performing that kind of activity encourages laziness but I beg to differ. The virtual world can actually be constructive. It stimulates the mind to try a wide range of games right in arms length. You will be able to choose which game satisfies your desire. In addition, chat rooms allow you to meet new people and learn about different cultures by interaction and helps in your conversation skills. Since the person is not visual, there is no need to fear having a conversation because the confidence level should grow behind the scenes. A chat room is a way to learn, talk and socialize (Crystal). Meanwhile, business is another addition to what the Internet has to offer. Businessmen and women both utilize the Internet for so many reasons. It comes in handy for advertising purposes, which brings forth the term E–commerce. Ecommerce is the concept used for any type of commercial maneuvering, or business deals that involves the transfer of information across the globe via Internet (Pakhare). This will target a wider network of potential customers rather than seclude it to one area. Can this be harmful? It is more of an asset to the businessperson. • 12. There can be both positive and negative effects of the internet on society. With society revolving around the internet, it is clear that the digital age can have both beneficial and harmful impacts on the 21st Century world, including communications, addictions, dating, schooling, work, savings, and hobbies and pastimes. One of the most affected and obvious impacts of the internet is on communications. The internet does make it easier to reach out to other humans both in and outside of our cultures; however, it is more difficult to have meaningful relationships with people you only know as images and texts on a computer screen. People can communicate with almost any person at almost any time, but is that reaching out really keeping us in touch with our humanity? I personally do not have a social media account, but I do know that people can get addicted to Facebook, Twitter, and other social media. People can misuse and abuse social media by forgetting that either there is a real person past that screen or forgetting the value of seeing people face to face. The internet also helps people each year find their loved ones online with online dating. My aunt and uncle met by being a member of an online dating. But people also get addicted to online games and that makes it even more difficult for people to communicate. At the same time people get addicted to online media sites which is another major problem because they lose focus on the real world around them. There can most Get more content on HelpWriting.net

For today's teens, friendships can start digitally: 57% of teens have met a new friend online. Social media and online gaming are the most common digital venues for meeting friends. Phone calls are less common early in a friendship, but are still an important way that teens talk with their closest friends. The Internet can help a person who has lost connection with someone from their past and end up renewing the old relationship with the person that they had lost contact with. There are some people who spend all their time on the internet and it's up to them to make the effort to go outside but there are also people who can balance both out and enjoy both internet/technology and outdoor fun. Unless if it's physical bullying then they need to find help to stop it. The important thing is to be aware and knowledgeable of the dangers of using the internet/technology. Also ignore the people who feel it's right to bully others (don't let verbal bullying get to you), and the lies they say, if people believe them or ask you Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 16. Argumentative Essay On The Internet As technology begins to advance every day it starts to have a large impact on us humans, not only on just our lifestyle but also the way we prefer to receive information. In the novel The Shallows, by Nicholas Carr, he proclaims a biased argument about the internet consequently how it is changing our ability to think logically because we are choosing the easier route to gain knowledge. Additionally, argues that due to Google we lack our critical thinking skills causing less knowledge to be created. The Internet is designed to connect people on a personal and commercial level, on the other hand, Carr rejects that idea, moreover views it as making us individuals more shallow by using the Internet. Despite the benefits the internet has, it is degrading us and we don't even know it. The internet is constantly changing the way our brain works. Additional use of the internet causes our brains to decrease the attention span we have. We were all born with a blank slate of minds with a basic brain structure, though our synaptic (nerve cells) connect accordingly by experience. "Cells that fire together wire together." (Carr 27). If animals learn through repetition, us humans might as well. The consistent usage of the internet to receive information quickly makes the human brain have a shorter attention span. In an experiment at Cornell University, students who used internet–connected laptops during a lecture did much worse on a subsequent test than students who did not use the internet (Carr, 2010). It indicated that using the internet in class impacts students' attention span (2010). Distractions can take attention away from learning. In fact, using the internet does not promote study efficiency, but wastes time. Furthermore, the internet damages students' interpersonal skills. Social media and instant messaging are major communication tools for students, which lead them to have few opportunities to talk in person. Recently, a multi–functional cell phone can replace a computer with internet access. There is a study in England that found that almost forty–percent of students surveyed said they could not live without their cell phones (Birdwell, 2007). Also, nearly ten–percent of students said that using cell phones caused them to lose their relationships and jobs (2007). Besides, through online education, students cannot get face–to–face instruction from professors and also lose their chances to communicate with classmates.
