            2       =1    2 out of 2 parts gives 1 whole.




                     For addition, we do not add the

                     Make sure the denominators of the
                8    fractions are the same before you add
                     the numerators.

                     not in its simplest form?

3 simple steps to add fractions:

• Step 1
  – Make sure the bottom numbers
    (denominators) are the same
• Step 2
