-HRM is the function within an organization that focuses on
recruitment ,managing and providing direction for the
people working in that organization.
*It is the organizational function dealing with issues related
to people such as hiring, compensation, performance
management ,safety, organization development, wellness,
benefits, employee motivation, communication,
administration and training.
Objectives:-
Primary-to motivate the employees to contribute their
maximum towards achieving organizational goals.
Secondary:-
*To help line managers in getting the required number of
employees ,training and retaining them
*organizational relations
*fair wages to employees
*fair wages to employees
*to improve the work efficiency of employees for the
success of the enterprise
Functions of HRM:-
1.recruitment:-
*it is the process of searching for candidates to employ and
stimulating them to apply for jobs in the organization.it is
the process of finding and attracting capable applicants for
employment. The process starts with submission of resumes
/applications from which a few candidates are selected
2.selection:-
*it is the process of selecting the candidates from the pool of
applications on the basis of their qualification and
competence to fill the vacancy in the organization
3.Job analysis:-
*it is a process through which data regarding each job is
systematically observe and noted.it provides information
about the nature of job and the desirable characteristics or
qualification in the job holder.
4.Training and development:-
*it is the follow up process of the selection.it is the
responsibility of the management to training the new
employees and old senior employees too to develop their
skills and so it helps for the organization growth and
employee growth also.
5.Retaining:-
It is the process of making sure that the senior and capable
/efficient employee of the organization does not leave the
place for benefits.to retain the staff the management should
practice promotion procedure, change of living and working
style and increase pay scale and incentives.
6.Demotion:-
*it is the process of lowering the rank and pay of an
employee due to breach of discipline, inadequacy of
knowledge, unable to cope with change.
ROLE OF NURSE MANAGER IN HRM/HRD:-
*The role and responsibility of the nurse manager depends
on the following principles
-HRM should be realistic
-selection, socialization and development should cope with
the problems of organization
-the contributions made by the HRM for productivity must
be compared with standards of the organization
-the manager should introduce a good appraisal system with
human approach
-the manager should make sure that the employees of the
organization will follow the HRM for which she has to train
the other managers
-the manager should match the people with their
performance and the objectives
-manager should establish team work, cohesiveness,
commitment and mutual resect so that coordination is
increased and they can work much more effectively
-the manager should educate other in charges to nurture and
nourish the human approach
-manager should formulate the human resource activities
and ensure the implementation of plans ,policies and
strategies.
STEPS INVOLVED IN MANPOWER PPLANNING:-
1.Determine the number of manpower required by using the
organization chart
2.To place the present employees in all the department and
then framework for the required members
3.If the required number is more than the available number
then should think of the promotion .if the available number
is less than the required number then should think of the
termination of incompetent workers.
4.The final step is to determine regarding providing the
training for the existing and new employees‘

HUMAN RESOUCES IN COMMUNITY HEALTH SERVICES
*it (community health services) is not concerned about the
sick but also the healthy, young, old people also.it draws
knowledge from medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics,
dentistry, health education and vital statistics.
*the community health center may refer then patient to
the state level hospital or the nearest medical college
hospital.to function community health center the
following staff are required which is called as community
health team
FUNCTIONS OF COMMUNITY HEALTH TEAM
MEMBERS:-
1.Medical officer:-
*he is a planner ,promoter, organizer, supervisor,
coordinator and evaluator of al functions of PHC.
*attends the OP in the morning and field visits in the
evening
*visiting the sub centers periodically
*staff meetings once every month, discuss problems and
review the progress
*implementation of National health programme
2.Female health worker:-
*registers and care the prenatal and post natal mothers
*registers and follow up the eligible couples
*nutrition and immunization to mother and child
*family planning programme
*treatment for minor elements
*notifies communicable diseases
*maintains the record and registers of care provided, birth
and death.
3.Male health worker:-
*surveys of sub center areas
*maintaining records of the families around
*participates in malaria control programme
*family planning programme
*nutritional programmes
*promotes health education activities
*identifies and reports about communicable diseases
*coordinates and works with female health worker
*maintains records
*provides generalized care at home, school and in work
place
*functions in the field of administration, supervision,
education, training personnel and health services and
research

*Is a person serving at the community level an providing
basic promotive ,preventive ,curative and rehabilitative
services directly to the community.
*The specific activities that are performed by the nurse
depends on the required by the community and the
structure of PHC system

  • 2. -HRM is the function within an organization that focuses on recruitment ,managing and providing direction for the people working in that organization. *It is the organizational function dealing with issues related to people such as hiring, compensation, performance management ,safety, organization development, wellness, benefits, employee motivation, communication, administration and training. Objectives:- Primary-to motivate the employees to contribute their maximum towards achieving organizational goals. Secondary:- *To help line managers in getting the required number of employees ,training and retaining them *organizational relations *fair wages to employees
  • 3. *fair wages to employees *to improve the work efficiency of employees for the success of the enterprise Functions of HRM:- 1.recruitment:- *it is the process of searching for candidates to employ and stimulating them to apply for jobs in the organization.it is the process of finding and attracting capable applicants for employment. The process starts with submission of resumes /applications from which a few candidates are selected 2.selection:- *it is the process of selecting the candidates from the pool of applications on the basis of their qualification and competence to fill the vacancy in the organization
  • 4. 3.Job analysis:- *it is a process through which data regarding each job is systematically observe and noted.it provides information about the nature of job and the desirable characteristics or qualification in the job holder. 4.Training and development:- *it is the follow up process of the selection.it is the responsibility of the management to training the new employees and old senior employees too to develop their skills and so it helps for the organization growth and employee growth also. 5.Retaining:- It is the process of making sure that the senior and capable /efficient employee of the organization does not leave the place for benefits.to retain the staff the management should practice promotion procedure, change of living and working style and increase pay scale and incentives.
  • 5. 6.Demotion:- *it is the process of lowering the rank and pay of an employee due to breach of discipline, inadequacy of knowledge, unable to cope with change. ROLE OF NURSE MANAGER IN HRM/HRD:- *The role and responsibility of the nurse manager depends on the following principles -HRM should be realistic -selection, socialization and development should cope with the problems of organization -the contributions made by the HRM for productivity must be compared with standards of the organization -the manager should introduce a good appraisal system with human approach -the manager should make sure that the employees of the organization will follow the HRM for which she has to train the other managers
  • 6. -the manager should match the people with their performance and the objectives -manager should establish team work, cohesiveness, commitment and mutual resect so that coordination is increased and they can work much more effectively -the manager should educate other in charges to nurture and nourish the human approach -manager should formulate the human resource activities and ensure the implementation of plans ,policies and strategies. STEPS INVOLVED IN MANPOWER PPLANNING:- 1.Determine the number of manpower required by using the organization chart 2.To place the present employees in all the department and then framework for the required members 3.If the required number is more than the available number then should think of the promotion .if the available number is less than the required number then should think of the termination of incompetent workers.

HUMAN RESOUCES IN COMMUNITY HEALTH SERVICES *it (community health services) is not concerned about the sick but also the healthy, young, old people also.it draws knowledge from medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics, dentistry, health education and vital statistics. *the community health center may refer then patient to the state level hospital or the nearest medical college hospital.to function community health center the following staff are required which is called as community health team FUNCTIONS OF COMMUNITY HEALTH TEAM MEMBERS:- 1.Medical officer:- *he is a planner ,promoter, organizer, supervisor, coordinator and evaluator of al functions of PHC. *attends the OP in the morning and field visits in the evening
  • 9. *visiting the sub centers periodically *staff meetings once every month, discuss problems and review the progress *implementation of National health programme 2.Female health worker:- *registers and care the prenatal and post natal mothers *registers and follow up the eligible couples *nutrition and immunization to mother and child *family planning programme *treatment for minor elements *notifies communicable diseases *maintains the record and registers of care provided, birth and death.
  • 10. 3.Male health worker:- *surveys of sub center areas *maintaining records of the families around *participates in malaria control programme *family planning programme *nutritional programmes *promotes health education activities *identifies and reports about communicable diseases *coordinates and works with female health worker *maintains records *provides generalized care at home, school and in work place *functions in the field of administration, supervision, education, training personnel and health services and research
