The good old days when Clear Channel Las Vegas was kicking ass and taking names. We made a lot of money in the mid-2000s; '06 and '07 we hit the peak and everyone knows what happened after that. Although I prepared and delivered this piece eight years ago, reading it now put me right back in the conference room at CCRS LA. Heh.

CPPs in Las Vegas are growing with the market growth. Ten years ago an average CPP in Las Vegas was
$56. In 1997-1998 radio revenue grew 19.6%, placing nearly 20% MORE DEMAND on radio in Las Vegas.
Simple math indicates that the CPP should have grown also, to an average of at least $67 in 1998.
Following that clear mathematic example:
Market
Size
Year Revenue Growth Expected Average
CPP
48 1998-1999 Up 12% $75
42 1999-2000 Up 13% $84
41 2000-2001 Up .7% $85
39 2001-2002 Up 10.2% $94
39 2002-2003 Up 4.8% $98
38 2003-2004 Up 10.3% $109
38 2004-2005 Up 3.0% $112
32 2005-2006 Up 3.3% $115
Rapid growth and increased market rankings have created consistent demand on the Las Vegas
market, and top tier stations in Las Vegas are realizing CPPs of $140-$160. So why do we sometimes
get avails for varied demos with CPP goals of $100 or even lower? Las Vegas is the most dynamic
market in the country and keeping pace with it requires constant re-evaluation of buying criteria.

Long the fastest-growing metropolis in America, sin city is building more than casinos. Sin City is branching out. The
share of Vegas residents who work in the resort industry has fallen from 26.2 percent to 19.8 percent in the last
decade, as more options emerge. The casinos remain a magnet for everyone from downsized industrial workers
to retirees and Latino immigrants. But the city is increasingly drawing spinoff industries in high tech, finance and
manufacturing, often lured to a little-known fringe benefit of gambling. Thanks to the 24/7 needs of the casinos,
Vegas boasts one of the best broadband- telecommunications networks in the United States.

don't know if we will see an end to it, what with the growth we see in Nevada," said Liz MacMenamin, a
spokeswoman for the Retail Association of Nevada. "The growth has been phenomenal here." MacMenamin
