2. Gramática - Infinitives
An infinitive is the most basic form of a verb.
Like in English, verbs in Spanish typically describe an action:
walk, run, eat, drink, sleep.
In English, infinitives are recognized by having the word “to” in
front of the action word.
to swim to read to write
Infinitives in Spanish still mean the same thing they do in
English, but they are one word instead of two. All Spanish
infinitives end in -ar, -er, or -ir.

7. ¿Qué te gusta hacer?
What do you like to do?
To talk about what you like to do in Spanish, you use the
phrase “Me gusta (infinitive).” If you don’t like to do some-
thing, you use the phrase “No me gusta (infinitive).”
Me gusta bailar.
I like to dance.
No me gusta correr.
I don’t like to run.
¿Te gusta _____?
Do you like to ____?
¿Y a tí?
And you?

8. For something you
REALLY don’t like to do, “No me gusta nada (infinitive).”
Another way to talk about what you like to do a lot is the
phrase “Me gusta mucho (infinitive).” You could also say
“A mí me gusta (infinitive).”
¿Qué te gusta más?
What do you like more?
Me gusta más (infinitive).
I like to _______ more.
o = or pero = buttambién= also, too

9. If someone likes to do something that you like to do too,
you can use the phrase “A mí también,” which means
“Me too.”
If someone dislikes doing something that you also
dislike, you can use the phrase “A mí tampoco,”
which means “Me neither.”
To express dislike for two actions, you would use
the “ni… ni” construction, which means “neither….
nor.” Por ejemplo:
I like neither to run nor to swim.
No me gusta ni correr ni correr.
