2. Our Movie To add an eerie affect to our movie trailer we decided to add in a few scenes that are filmed from some of the characters Ppojt of views. To get the best idea of how to do this we researched into some different media forms that use the point of view affect to gain the best atmosphere and affect for their video.

6. One of the reasons for this is to capture the audience’s imagination and think about the issues being addressed in the video and how they would be affected by them

Lady in the Lake This 1947 movie was one of the first to use this technique The film is taken from the perspective of a detective ask to investigate the wear about’s of the wife of his clients boss The film exploits the style of filming using shots such as a door opening towards the camera and you seeing the hand reach to open the door This creates an atmopspheric affect that results in building tension and atmosphere as we always see things through the detectives eyes Although this isn’t a horror movie but a film noir, it creates a type of tension that allows the audience experience everything at the same time from the same perspective as the detective meaning that we are always in the know.

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly This is a 2007 French film that varies in cinematography style The film opens from the perspective of a character who wakes from a 3 week coma with a rare diseases that leaves him mentally stable but totally paralyzed As the film moves on the view point gradually broadens as he relives previous periods of his life The film is taken from his perspective as we hear his innermost thoughts One of the reasons for this to be done is to give the audience the real sensation that it is them trapped in this life where they can only see in certain directions and everything is frustrating

Alone with her This is a 2007 suspense film that is filmed from the perspectives of cameras set up by the main character The film centres an anti-social boy who films the girl he is obsessed with The camera switches between CCTV cameras set up by the boy which he watches from a room and a small camera he places on his tie which looks ate her ‘intimately’, such as directing at her breasts This film aims to question the audiences judgement as the perspective you are looking from is the antagonist’s, yet because it is the only perspective you know, you begin to use it as your own perspective By filming it from one perspective the audience is included in the action and is viewing what the antagonist wants them to see, what he wants to see.
