Rubric for Prepared Piece
Consider these skills when assigning a score:                   Prepared Piece- 250 points

      Tone & Intonation
          1. Student’s tone is not centered and/or consistently out of tune.    0-15 points
          2. Student has serious pitch and tone problems.                       16-25 points
          3. Student’s tone is centered most of the time, few pitch problems.   26-35 points
          4. Student’s tone is characteristic with few or no pitch problems.    36-50 points



      Correct Pitches
          1. Student consistently misses key and executes incorrect pitches     0-25 points
              and intervals.
          2. Student misses key and performs many incorrect pitches.            26-40 points
          3. Student performs correct pitches and intervals in the correct      41-60 points
              key most of the time.
          4. Student performs in correct key with few or no incorrect notes.    61-75 points



      Rhythm & Technique
           1. Student performs with no rhythmic feeling, several technique    0-25 points
              problems.
           2. Student performs with many timing and/or technical problems.    26-40 points
           3. Student plays with very few technical and/or rhythmic problems. 41-60 points
           4. Student performs with few or no rhythmic and technical          61-75 points
              problems.



      Musicality
           1. Student plays with no understanding of expression, phrasing       0-15 points
               dynamics, tempo, or articulation.
           2. Student performs with several inconsistencies in expression,      16-25 points
               phrasing, dynamics, tempo, and articulation.
           3. Student plays with few inconsistencies throughout the             26-35 points
               performance.
           4. Student executes musically throughout the performance.            36-50 points
