This document discusses operating system reliability and presents on modern operating system kernels. It introduces topics on memories, recoverability in microkernel operating systems, CuriOS which is an operating system that aims to improve reliability through its structure, and CuiK protected method calls. References are provided for related works on UNIX and the CuriOS operating system.
