Auxiliary Verbs คื อ กริ ย าที่ ใ ช้ ร่ ว มกั บ กริ ย าแท้ (Finite
Verbs) มีหน้าที่ช่วยกริยาแท้และเพิ่มความหมายให้กับกริยาแท้ เรียก
อีกอย่างหนึ่งว่า Helping Verbs (กริยาช่วย) โดยจะต้องใช้กับกริยา
แท้เสมอ ดังนี้
หลัก การใช้ Auxiliary Verbs
1. ใช้ร่วมกับกริยาแท้ (Finite Verbs) โดยจะวางไว้หน้ากริยา
แท้ และกริ ย าแท้ ที่ ต ามหลั ง กริ ย าช่ ว ยนี้ จ ะต้ อ งเป็ น รู ป V.1 หรื อ
infinitive เสมอ
The children will sing a song. She
can swim.
You should go to see a doctor. They must
study English.
2. ประโยคใดที่ ใ ช้ Auxiliary Verbs เมื่ อ ต้ อ งการเปลี่ ย นรู ป
แบบประโยคจากประโยคบอกเล่าให้เป็นประโยคคำาถาม หรือประโยค
ปฏิเสธ สามารถทำาได้โดยไม่ต้องยืม V. to do มาช่วยเหมือนประโยค
ที่มีเพียงกริยาแท้ ดังนี้
The children will sing a song. (บอกเล่า)
Will the children sing a song? (คำาถาม)
The children won’t sing a song. (ปฏิเสธ)
You should go to see a doctor. (บอกเล่า)
Should I go to see a doctor? (คำาถาม)
You shouldn’t go to see a doctor. (ปฏิเสธ)
3. การตอบประโยคคำา ถามของประโยคที่มี Auxiliary Verbs
สามารถตอบอย่างย่อโดยใช้ Auxiliary Verbs ตอบดังนี้
Will the children sing a song? (คำาถาม)
Yes, they will. No, they won’t.
Should I go to see a doctor? (คำาถาม)
Yes, you should. No, you shouldn’t.
Auxiliary Verbs ที่ถ ูก ใช้บ ่อ ย ๆ
Can / Could
- ใช้แสดงความสามารถ
He can play tennis very well.
- ใช้ขออนุญาต
Can I turn on the television?
- ใช้ในการแสดงความเป็นไปได้

2. If you finish your homework, you can watch T.V.
- การกระทำา ที่ เ กิ ด ขึ้ น ในปั จ จุ บั น ใช้ can แต่ ถ้ า เป็ น อดี ต ใช้
could
He said we could take some bread if we wanted.
You could watch T.V. if you finish your
homework.
He could play tennis very well when he was
young.
May / Might
- ใช้ may ในการขออนุญาตและอนุญาต
May I go to the toilet?
Yes, you may.
- ใช้ may และ might แสดงความเป็นไปได้
It might be your dog.
It may rain this afternoon.
- ใช้ may กับปัจจุบัน และใช้ might กับอดีต
If he tries hard enough, he may pass.
If he tries hard enough, he might pass.
Must / Have to
- ใช้ must ในการบังคับให้ผู้ฟังปฏิบัติตาม เช่น
Ypu must do your work
- ใช้ have to บัง คับ เช่ นกั นแต่เ ที ย บแล้ ว ความรุ น แรงจะน้ อ ง
กว่า must ส่วนใหญ่จะเป็นเรื่องของหน้าที่และความรับผิดชอบ
You have to follow the rules of the school when
you are student.
- ใช้ have to แทน must กับประโยคอดีต อนาคต และ
ประโยคเงื่อนไข ส่วน must จะใช้กับประโยคปัจจุบัน เช่น
You must be told the truth.
You will have to be told the truth.
Ought to / Should
- ใช้ ought to และ should ในความหมาย “ควรจะ” หรือสิ่ง
ที่ควรทำา
You got a stomachache. You should go
to see a doctor.
You got a stomachache. You ought to go
to see a doctor.
ถ้าใช้ ought to + have + V.3 หมายความว่าหน้าที่นั้นได้
ถูกละเลย

3. I ought to have visited my grand father before
he died.
(ฉันควรจะไปเยี่ยมคุณปู่ของฉันก่อนเขาตาย)
Used to
- ใช้กับการกระทำาที่เกิดขึ้นในอดีตแต่ไม่ได้ทำาแล้วในปัจจุบัน
He used to smoke.
I used to learn the piano.
Will / Shall
- ใช้ will / shall ในความหมาย “จะ” กับประโยคอนาคต
I will go to Songkhla next week.
I shall go to Songkhla next week.
- ใช้ will ในการเชื้อเชิญ
Will you come for dinner with me?
- ใช้ will ในการขอร้อง
Will you turn of the air condition, please?
- ใช้ will ในประโยคคำาสั่ง
You will do your homework.
- ใช้ shall ในประโยคขอคำาแนะนำา
Where shall I buy any stamps?
- ใช้ shall แสดงความตั้งใจกระทำา
I shall have dinner with you.
- ใช้ shall กับคำาสั่งที่เป็นข้อบังคับ
The students shall wear uniform.
Would / Should
- ใช้ would ในประโยคขอร้องสุภาพ
Would you help me to fix my car?
- ใช้ would ในความหมาย will แต่เป็น past tense
He would pass if he worked hard.
- ใช้ sould ในความหมายเดียวกับ ought to
You should read more books.
You ought to read more books.
- ใช้ sould ในประโยคคำาถามที่ขอคำาแนะนำา
