This document describes a proposed solar power satellite concept. It involves a large solar collector in space that would collect solar energy and transmit it to Earth via microwave beams to a receiving antenna. The receiving antenna would be a large disc 3 to 6 km in diameter that would convert the microwave energy directly into electricity without needing wires. The concept aims to transmit power from space at 5.8 GHz and 2.8 GW to provide a renewable source of energy to meet growing demand.
