1. Use LAT to Address Accreditation Standards
ATS Standard: 3.2.1.4: “An institution shall demonstrate its ongoing efforts to ensure the
quality of learning within the context of its purpose and as understood by the relevant
scholarly and ecclesial communities..”
ATS Standard 5.3.1.: “Faculty shall be involved in evaluating the quality of student learning
by identifying appropriate outcomes and assessing the extent to which the learning goals
of individual courses and degree programs have been achieved.”
MSCHE Standard 14: Assessment of Student Learning: “Assessment of student learning
demonstrates that, at graduation, or other appropriate points, the institution’s students
have knowledge, skills, and competencies consistent with institutional and appropriate
higher education goals.”
Identify the methods and measures you will use to assess student learning
outcomes and set target achievement levels.
Collect authentic work from students that demonstrates learning at
various levels and transition points (e.g., course, program, Gen Ed,
graduation) as well as for particular cohorts of students.
Score student work using rubrics aligned with your student learning
outcomes and easily generate advanced reports to analyze student
achievement of these defined goals.
