1. Guidelines for a 15 and 18 rated film
A 15 rated film:
• No discrimination should be promoted through behaviour
or language.
• Drugs can be shown in a 15 rated film however they are
not to be shown as a positive thing.
• Swearing is likely to occur including the stronger ones
however they are not allowed to be use in an aggressive way.
• Nudity and sexual activity is dependent on the context and as long as it isn't
dwelled upon.
Weapons can be shown however like the other guidelines they are not to be
promoted in a positive way as certain acts can be imitated easily.
• Violence is also likely to occur however extreme acts of such are usually
unacceptable.
An 18 rated film:
There isn't much restriction of an 18 rated film. At the age
of 18 people tend to be considered adults and they are
given a principle by the BBFC that they should be allowed
to freely and openly choose their form of entertainment.
Some material and films are banned however due to
breaching certain rules such as illegal the promotion of a
violent sex scene. Things that would be typically inhuman
are also banned and illegal. If there is a positive promotion
on drugs, violence or any other activity then it is likely to be unacceptable to be
legal.
Our Film:
As our film is a Noire film, it is going to include all of the usual things that are
included in a typical Noire film. One example is there will be performed acts of
violence however these won't feature any gore or extreme acts. Our target
Audience will be for people aged around 15+. Our film will not cause any distress
to people viewing of the age of 15 or over. There many be a weapon shown
however their will be no positive promotion of this weapon and it will not be
used in a manner which is unacceptable, due to guidelines however this is not
suitable for younger audiences and viewers hence the 15+ rating. The mature
content means it will also be suitable for people older adults.
