2. My artist will have a character inspiration to fit my song choice. As a pop
music listener myself, I have gathered an idea of many different types of
pop artists. Most of these artists give off a confident persona. This makes
them seem like they are in charge of what they do. This makes audiences
aspire to be like them and follow their footsteps. They are also strong in
the music industry so I must make my artist that I will be using in my music
video seem confident and strong so that she can be a role model to her
audience. There are also a lot of sexual references within a pop music
video. Because this is a school project, I wont be feature sexual references
in my own music video as it would be a bit too extreme. However, my artist
will have a certain style to her where she automatically oozes a 'sexy'
appeal. Because my music video wont be narrative based, my artist wont
be a certain character but just be herself.
3. These ideas could change as I research deeper into this project, but my
music video would be surrounded by different aesthetically pleasing
locations in order to make the overall music video appear more interesting.
I will use a range of in door and out door shots such as in the city, in a
bathroom etc.
My music video will be concept based so there will be a range of lip sync
shots and location shots. Within the lip-sync shots of the artist, she will be
doing an action in order to make the music video appear more busy and up
beat. For example, there would be a shot of my artist walking down the
road or using hand movements within a shot. Some shots may be tricky to
shoot as the city would be crowded. So I must find aesthetically pleasing
places that isn’t busy as people in the background would ruin the shots.
