3. Storytelling is a powerful design communication tool View Bill Pay 2 Used a multimedia vignette to illustrate the product concept and user experience for Bill Pay. It was a great technique to get my audience to focus on the big picture, without getting caught up in the details. Was more effective than either paper or interactive prototype when testing with users in early concept phases to get feedback and inform product investment choices.

Strive to keep IA and flows simple- think templates….X.com (developer platform)ROLE: UX Manager (Directed UX team) Design effort included complete IA for this new developer site, navigation, templates, new visual style and detailed app submission functionality. Successful rollout within very tight timelines. 3a

Use patterns and standards to drive consistency.Mobile Express CheckoutROLE: UX Manager (Directed UX team and external agency).Included interim smartphone standards for PayPal mobile team as a part of this effort to allow for consistency while mobile was incorporated into corporate brand guidelines. In the product UX, focus was on leveraging smartphone capabilities while respecting user familiarity with our web checkout experience. 5a

9. The PayPal OpenID identity service allows you to login at partner sites using your PayPal.com account. Coordinated project efforts with other parallel work in progress efforts to ensure look and feel consistency.PayPal Identity ServicesROLE: UX Manager Personally Illustrated UX concepts at the beginning of this effort- UX illustration helped secure funding for this project in 2010. Final spec was created by another designer used “fresh off the press” standards to ensure conssitency.. 5c
10. 1 LED DESIGN REVIEW PROCESS Initiated, designed and led a peer review process for PayPal Global UED (1 year) Used sketching to communicate process to the larger team, in order to reinforce the informal and mentoring aspects of the details involved. Engaged UCD methodology to design this review process, beginning with interviews with designers and writers, and iterating the process based on constant feedback from the UED team. 2 3
