Elementary School And High School
Class is defined as a group of people who have a similar level of wealth and income. Even though
this ideology is more referred to specific individuals regarding their occupation, education can be
considered to follow this same description. There are educational institutions everywhere, one
elementary school usually in one part of a neighborhood in your hometown. As these schools grown
in number and increase in grade level however, less become established and there tend to be a
smaller amount of high schools within a city compared to elementary or middle. This means that for
every 4 or 5 neighborhoods there is 1 high school that is responsible for accepting these residents.
High schools quickly become established in large district areas, ... Show more content on

How are low income schools different than higher income schools? This is a concerning issue
because if there continues to be a financial difference between educational institutions that affects
the quality of schools, there will be an entire generation of students that will have received a poor
education and have limited opportunities of successfully integrating with society compared to
graduates that attained a higher quality education from a higher income school. This decreases
social mobility of low income school graduates, continues stratification, and may encourage low
income graduates to enact in high risk illegal acts to support themselves and families since they
were not properly prepared to be college ready in high school. Low income schools mainly differ
from higher income schools through student performance in college preparatory exams and
behavioral issues/stigmas.
Differences in student performance on college preparatory exams is the first noticeable difference
between low income schools and higher income schools. Bryan Station had a larger percentage of
students that underperformed and scored a lower average mean ACT composite score compared to
Fayette County and Kentucky. The average ACT score of a Bryan Station student is 18.1, compared
to the county average of 21.4 and the state average of 19.1 (Startclass, 2016). Compared to Henry
Clay, this school had a larger percentage of students that scored a significantly

Elementary School Observation
On August 10, 2016 I was dispatched to Hull, Jackson Elementary School on an Unruly student
incident. I spoke with Mrs. Martha Phillips, Principal of the school, she stated that second grade
student Jairon Day, hit a teacher in the face today. I spoke with Mrs. Erin Cox, she stated "At
approximately 11:30 I picked my class up from art and took them to the courtyard for recess. JD
followed instructions during recess. We came in at 11:45. As we headed up the stairs JD did not
want to come with the class. He did come upstairs but kept wandering away from the class. He cut
in and out of Mrs. Cross' line and tried to go into the teacher's workroom. This lasted several
minutes. He would not get in line but did finally follow directions to stay with the class. ... Show

He started bumping into people then he hit a student (JS) hard in the head making him cry. He
continued to hit and kick at least 5 other students while I was checking on JS. I told JD you are not
going to hurt any other students. He pushed me in response. I sent my class to Ms. Jablonski's room
and stayed in the hall with JD. He wanted to go to Ms. Jablonski's room with the rest of the class.
He was still angry so I told him no. When I wouldn't let him go in the room and Ms. Jablonski shut
the door, he ran to Ms. Warren's room and went through the bathroom to Ms. Jablonski's room. I
was standing in Ms. Jablonski's door when she told him he had to leave. He ran toward me, kicked
me in the knee, and pushed past me. When he heard Ms. Jablonski say Ms. Warren was going to
watch the classes while she went to get Ms. Manuel he jumped up and kicked me in the

Elementary School Recess
Children in elementary schools all over the United States long for the moment that they are released
to go to recess. It is a time for them to let loose, relax, and simply refresh their minds to get ready
for the rest of the day. However, school boards as well as teachers around the country have begun to
cut back on recess time or, in some cases, eliminate it completely in order to "maximize educational
intake". The obvious benefit of the use of recess is physical enrichment, however there are many
other crucial outcomes involved with recess. Recess is a pivotal piece in the development of a
child's focus, ability to retain informations, and social skills, which are several reasons as to why
recess should be implemented in elementary schools ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to an article from AAP News & Journals, "after recess, for children or after a
corresponding break time for adolescents, students are more attentive and better able to perform
cognitively" (Murray). This shows that students who are given a recess can soak up the given
information better than those who are not. In turn, this allows students to be more successful in the
classroom due to information being easily retained. This demonstrated in places such as Finland and
China who have very successful education systems. These places have some of the most highly
ranked schools in the world. As stated in an article by Alia Wong, "Finnish kids get more than an
hour of recess every day" and "East Asian countries like China–the land of nine–hour school days
and weekend cram classes–most schools give kids a 10– or even 20–minute break after each class,
or about every hour." As previously stated above, these parts of the world have the most renowned
school systems, but they also allow kids a lot of time for breaks. Student success in the classroom is
largely impacted by the use of recess in

Understanding The Communication Patterns, And Development...
On Friday September 23rd, 2016, I volunteered at East Lincoln Elementary School in Tullahoma,
Tennessee. During that time, I assisted with office communication, cut math flashcards for tutorials,
and organized the donations for the clothes closet for indigent students. In this paper, I will analyze
the communication patterns, organizational patterns, and development of East Lincoln Elementary
School.
Communication Direction While volunteering at East Lincoln, I was able to observe the employees,
their relationship with their coworkers, and with their bosses. When I was in the front office
working with the office ladies, I noticed they displayed a great amount of horizontal
communication. They enhanced their productivity by sharing information. It was clear to see that
the ladies were all friends and got along well with each other. This helped their efficiency as well as
making the day more enjoyable.
Organizational Culture East Lincoln is the highest poverty–ridden elementary school in the area of
Tullahoma, Tennessee. The teachers and staff at East Lincoln have caring hearts and are willing to
go above the status quo in order to fulfill their students' needs. On the East Lincoln Elementary
School website, their Mission Statement is, "We are dedicated to providing a quality education in
safe, welcoming environment that fosters creative and critical thinking in order to produce
independent and productive citizens" (East Lincoln Elementary School). This Mission Statement

Journal Reflection 1
Reflection of: A case study of a highly effective, inclusive elementary school.

Summary: A case study of a highly effective, inclusive elementary school
The study conducted at Creekside Elementary School (CES) in Florida was aimed to investigate the
contributing factors which led to the success of their highly effective inclusive elementary school
classrooms. The rationale for the implicated research was to investigate, share, and eventually have
others implement effective practices that will allow students with learning disabilities to reach their

Reflection: A case study of a highly effective, inclusive elementary school The article gave me a
better understanding on methods I can implement that my special education students receive
learning experiences which will assist them in being successful throughout school. I feel as though
the six positions which were addressed have the potential to allow all students to be successful in all
educators and administrators attempt to implement them. As a current educator I have experience
first hand the power of setting and maintaining high expectations for all students. It has been noted
in my experience that students will rise to the level of expectation which is set upon them. Educators
must consciously and consistently encourage student to reach their highest potential and beyond.
Educators must provide confidence and a means to succeed to enhance all student self efficacy
which will in turn aid in students' overall success. The information within this article give me a
more concrete understanding of the Georgia Department of Education's Teacher Keys Effective
System Standard 9 which calls for a positive learning environment centered around high
expectations, care, and respect for all students (GaDOE, 2017). Also agree with the notion that data
should be used to drive instruction. I believe that is is important to have statistical basis for each
implemented strategy, activity, or resource. It does no benefit to the student

Desegregation In Elementary School
Kozol Paper When a young Mr. Kozol had been teaching fourth grade in an Elementary school in
Boston, Massachusetts, he gave an assignment to his students asking them to describe what they
saw every day when they came to class. His students, not worried about spelling or grammar, took
to this assignment and in true children form they told him exactly what they saw. One student writes
the following for their teacher, "I see dirty boards and I see papers on the floor. I see an old browken
window with a sign on it saying, Do not unlock this window are browken. And I see cracks in the
walls and I see old books with ink poured all over them." (Kozol, 2005, p.162) Imagine, this as a

Not only is their living situation not only about the cost of living in that area it is also becomes an
issue of the socio economic class that their families are used to. A persons socio economic class is
defined as their income, educational background (both quality and quantity), prestige, values,
culture, and power. All of these different values effect what a family puts an emphasize on when
dealing with any major change in their life. For example, when in our class discussion the example
of the supreme court judge and a cocaine dealer came up and it was said that although the two
parties make roughly the same amount of money in a given year they are not classified in the same
socio economic class because there are many other differences that hold them back. All of this said,
I do not agree with the justification that people are so easily ready to agree with that people can
choose to live anywhere if they work hard enough to accomplish this goal. It is not just about the
money aspect but also the values that a family

Attending Elementary School
Attending elementary school is a period of time in which you are learning the basics of every
subject that you will carry on throughout your whole life. You will be able to learn how to read,
write, add, subtract, etc. Also, you are taught how to act and think like a normal person. The best
thing about elementary school is that you have very little responsibilities and you don't have to
worry about college. I attended Fairview Elementary School from grades K–5. I remember each
year like it was yesterday. For example, I remembered the way I looked, the friends I made, the
events that occurred, and the problems I had.
All throughout my years of elementary school, many people would pick on me and boast about their
appearance in comparison to me. For example, I was the smallest kid in my class. Everyone would
always be taller than me and make me reach for a pencil as they held it up high. In addition, I also
had a big head which also gave kids another opportunity to make fun of me. Finally, many kids
started to get braces. I had very crooked teeth and a gap in my tooth.
I had a lot of friends throughout my years of elementary school. Each year brought new people in
my classes. I remember how I would go up to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

was born, my grandmother started to live with my family. She would pick me up from school

my little brother. For example, I would help my mother or grandmother whenever they need
assistance. Taking care of my little brother gave me basic knowledge and skills I use today when I

Miss Kane 's First Grade Class At Lutie Lewis Coates...
Miss Kane's first grade class at Lutie Lewis Coates Elementary School (also known as Coates
Elementary) has twenty students and seventeen of them are considered English Language Learners
(ELL) (E. Kane, Personal Communication, October 4, 2016). This is very frustrating for both Miss.
Kane and her students because it is very difficult to communicate with many of her ELLs. Out of
Miss Kane's twenty students eight students are Hispanic, five Indian, five Black, and three White.
Miss Kane's class is very diverse and this allows students to feel more accepted because not all
students are similar. Coates Elementary as a whole is very diverse: Asian 28.86%, Black 18.26%,
Hispanic 37.32%, and White 12.08% (Fairfax County Public Schools, 2015). Miss Kane's classroom
reflects similar diversity as Coates Elementary does. Both Miss. Kane and the Coates staff really
show their appreciation for diversity and attempt to treat all children equally giving all students
equal opportunity. Coates Elementary is a Title I school; about fifty percent of students receive free
and reduced lunch (Fairfax County Public Schools, 2015). This school was placed in the center of
poverty and many of these students who participate in the free and reduced lunch program are
English Language Learners. Eighty–five percent of Miss Kane's class is considered English
Language Learner (ELL) and Brian Hernandez, the student studied, is one of these children. ELL
specialists and math specialists assist Brian in his

Observation In Elementary School
Standing in front of about 20 beaming eyes staring at me I struggled to keep my composure. "You
teach the class!" I was just a small child in the fifth grade. I was stuck inside a deep hole that I had
no control over. "Well? What are learning?" At that moment tears started rolling down my cheeks
and my head was in the dumps. As ten and eleven year olds we didn't have a clue what was right or
wrong. I never believed in punishment for kids that are young to this day. In my everyday
elementary school class the goal was to have the best time and learn new materials. Although my
classmates and I were basically stuck in the room the whole day besides recess, there was always an
urge to get out of our seats and yell something to one another. ... Show more content on

The volcano had finally reached its boiling point and it was ready to erupt. While our teacher was
lecturing us I was stuck in an annoying confrontation with two other students in the class. I was
afraid of being yelled at; I didn't want to be blamed for anything. I tried to tell the other students to
stop talking, but it just wasn't working. "Alex! Stop interrupting the class." At this point I knew I
was done. My day was going to get worse. Out of the other two students, why did it have been me?
She forced me to stand in front of my class and attempt to teach the lesson. The walk of shame, head
down knowing that this was the worst possible scenario. I stood in front of everyone glaring at me,
making it seem like I was the problem. I couldn't teach, I was speechless, all of the thoughts going
through my head had vanished. With a blank face I was constantly being interrogated by my teacher.
"Have you learned your lesson?" Why me? I don't deserve this, I thought. I tried holding back the
tears in my eyes but it was too late. Tear drops that rushed like a waterfall rolled down my face. I
ran back to my desk and faced my head straight down. At this point class was coming to an end and
my teacher decides to assign a two paragraph paper about ideal behavior inside a classroom. For
something I had no control over we all were punished with a

Elementary School Fieldwork
The field work that I have done was at the Foundation daycare between 9am and 10:30 am. The
daycare is next to the Shaar Hashomayim on Metcalfe and Kensington Avenue in Westmount. When
I first went to the school I went through the courtyard which had cemented pillars and archways as
well as a row of plastic play houses of a variety of colours and sizes. The doors are all locked
therefore I had to wring the Foundation school doorbell. The school has 2 stories; the first story is
where the daycare is and the second floor is where the elementary school is located. There are 6
classrooms and each classroom has a specific age group. While walking to the classroom, there are

On this particular day a lot of kids were missing due to the weather so there were nine kids in class
eight girls and one boy between the ages of four and five. The 5 year old boy stood out the most to
me the most due to the fact that he was the only boy in a class full of girls. He was very talkative
but, only towards the monitors; he like holds hands with the monitors and when he is speaking or
they are speaking he gives them I eye contact which he did not do for anyone else. I think this may
be because he feels comfortable with them and he likes the attention that they give him because he
would get a huge smile his face when they praised him or said they would play with him. He did not
speak much to the other kids; he played play–dough at the same table as the other children but, he
did not interact with them or participate in the pretend play. He had short brown hair, slightly tanned
skin and was wearing jeans a red shirt and running shoes. After a little while he went off on his own
and looked at the books in the book section which was the only part of the classroom in which no
one else was there. He also played with a toy dinosaur on his own he looked a little bored or
unhappy because he was pacing around the class room laying on the floor looking at the ceiling
didn't play with anything for more than 5 minutes. He was the only one who talked to me that day
and he told me that he could write music notes and that he could read them. This means to me that
he is a smart child because not many people could write and read music especially at a young age.
Another kid who stood out to me was a 5 year old Caucasian girl. She had straight, light brown hair
tied up into a ponytail; she had brown eyes and fair skin. She was a petite girl shorter than a few of
the girls and

Elementary Hosts Popcorn At School
Every other Friday, Cascades Elementary hosts Popcorn Friday in their cafeteria. Volunteers come
and help make, bag, and distribute the salty snack to the classrooms. The line goes popcorn
machine, empty bags, bag folders and tape placers, finished bags, and classroom totes. However, to
make the line flow easily, the line might go; empty bags, popcorn machine, bag folders, tapers,
finished bags in lines of five, and the classroom totes that are brought up from the classroom. This
suggested lineup requires a volunteer to open bags and place them so the popcorn machine
volunteer is able to reach the paper bags, and possibly a couple more volunteers to ensure the
supplies needed never runs out and the flow is maintained. Unfortunately, many parents with
nothing to do on Fridays do not come to help.
On Popcorn Day, the volunteers meet at Cascades Elementary at eight in the morning in the
cafeteria after dropping their children off at school. One volunteer begins to heat up the popcorn
maker and make popcorn while a second volunteer sets out bags and a third sets out strips of tape
along the side of the table. After classes begin, the teacher selects two students to take the class
mesh tote and the popcorn money for the class to the cafeteria where the volunteers make the
popcorn. Once the students hand one of the volunteers the class tote and popcorn money, the
students are able to go back to class. The average popcorn bags requested by each classroom is
about 30 bags. The

Elementary School Teacher
Elementary School Teacher On November 14, I shadowed Mrs. Spielmann, a second grade teacher
at West Central Elementary School. I arrived at the school at 8:00 but she was in a meeting so I
didn't go to her room until 8:25. When I went into the room she told me that when the students first
came in they would do their morning duties. As the students came in they were telling me stories
about their families. Some of the things they did right away was eat a snack, do milk count, mark if
they read 20 minutes, and get ready for whatever station they were going to first. Mrs. Spielmann
had a group of students that she would do a station with and the rest of the students moved from one
station to another. I went around and asked them questions about what they were doing. One station
was a geography station. They had a worksheet they had to fill out about the capitals and states. I
helped them with any of the questions they needed. Another station was a spelling station. They had
to transfer their spelling words onto the worksheet and then add up how many points the word was
worth. I spent most of my time at this station explaining how to do the worksheet. Once they figured
out how to do it they would show me their answers and they would be so happy that they got it
right. It was interesting to see what made them excited and how happy they were to get the answer

Elementary School Reflection
People say that Elementary school is primarily for developing social skills and creating habits of
productive school practices. I excelled in the second part of that statement, I put everything I had
into learning anything and everything my teachers would teach me. However the social aspect of my
early childhood was lacking in certain areas. I didn't know it at the time but I suffered from severe
Anxiety and OCD. So while the other kids would go outside to recess I would beg my teacher to let
me stay in and clean the pencil led stains from my pencil bin. All of the other kids would come to
school with fun outfits that reflected their personalities, while I would wear the same sweatshirt and
shoes everyday to avoid any possible complications. I lived with this mindset for several years, but I
didn't see the problem. Middle school is a hard transition for anyone, but when your entire life has
revolved around routines a change like this can feel catastrophic. Walking around to different
classes all alone several times a day felt like torture. I began counting my steps to find the fastest
and most efficient route to all of my classes. If there were people standing in the way of where I
needed to go rather than asking them to move I would find an alternative route to take. Then there
was the school work, I wasn't use to having homework from so many different classes all at once. In
elementary school I was used to having only one assignment per day, so I would spend hours on

My Experience Of School Experience In Elementary School
Well, I've had a pretty bad school experience almost my entire life honestly. Elementary school was
the only exception. Elementary school years were pretty great had a lot of friends, I was popular
among teachers I still technically am. Elementary school was fun had a lot of great times and
memories some good some bad, but overall it was pretty great. Minus reading logs those sucked and
what made me lose my interest in reading. I was such a great reader I would read like a 7th or 8th–
grade level book and I would be done with it in an hour or so and we would need like 400–600
minutes of reading. I hated it because I had to find so many different books and read so many books
each month to get at least 400 minutes. Compared to middle school elementary school was a breeze.
We had 2 middle schools which the first one was Fire Prairie which was 5th and 6th, and Osage
Trail was 7th and 8th. Now Fire Prairie is now called upper elementary which didn't change until the
end of my 6th–grade year. Fire Prairie was a whole new world for me because we had 5 elementary
schools and they all came together into one school. Well, it seemed like when we got there everyone
acted like they had never met me before all my friends had left me. My only true best friends had
moved schools thankfully through the power of Facebook I can actually contact them again. My life
was so different I went from the number 3 spot to the 3rd to the last on the board it was crazy for
me, so I figured well maybe

Interview At The Elementary School
This Tuesday, February 23, 2016, I had the opportunity to interview Carolina Portales. Mrs. Portales
is a Pre–K ESL teacher at the elementary school Lorenzo de Zavala in the Grand Prairie
Independent School District. Even though I had to wait about an hour to interview her, it was worth
it because she was very helpful and kind answering most of my questions. The interview lasted
about an hour; it started about 4:00 pm and ended by 5:00 pm. She not only answered most of my
questions, as well, she gave me some advices to get ready for my first year of teaching. According
to Mrs. Portales the math professional development activities that she has participated in, are the
ones that the district of Grand Prairie offers. She described her overall experiences learning math as
not so well, because she has had teachers that did not care about her learning. She felt that her
teachers were more worried in completing the lesson or the unit, than their students ' learning. She
claims that due to that kind of teachers, she has not learned everything she needs to learn, but
fortunately she knows enough maths to teach what she needs to teach. She keeps up with the latest
changes in math instruction by going to the different workshops offered by the district, and by
asking new teachers for new ways of teaching. She believes that new teachers come to the
profession with new, and better teaching strategies. As well, she keeps up with the latest changes by

The Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting

23 November 2015
"They had their entire lives ahead of them – birthdays, graduations, weddings, kids of their own.
Among the fallen were also teachers, men and women who devoted their lives to helping our
children fulfill their dreams" ("STUDENT NEWS"). One morning in Newtown, Connecticut, many
children and staff of Sandy Hook Elementary were ready to begin their daily routine of attending
school, or work. Unfortunately, they were not aware that this would be the last time they do so. The
shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary ended the lives of several staff and young children. This
devastating tragedy added fuel to the controversial gun argument. Parents of the children lobbied to
pass gun reform laws which would help provide safety for citizens and prevent awful events similar
to this from occurring in the future.
"The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting occurred on December 14, 2012, in Newtown,
Connecticut, when 20–year–old Adam Lanza shot twenty children and six adult staff members"
("Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting"). "It was the deadliest mass shooting at a high school
or grade school in U.S. history and the second–deadliest mass shooting by a single person in
America"("Screening Sandy Hook"). Several families lost a loved one all due to someone 's
selfishness to provoke harm to many innocent lives. "At some point before he went to the school,
investigators believe Adam Lanza, killed his mother, Nancy Lanza" ("Sandy Hook Shooting:

Why Is Homework Necessary For Elementary School
Homework Is Not Necessary for Elementary Students
Elementary education is something many people are familiar with. Some may have taught in
elementary schools, researched elementary education, or at the least, attended elementary school.
School work and projects assigned to be completed at home are a large part of primary education,
and most people who have completed grades one through six have experienced homework
themselves, but does familiarity mean necessity? How important is homework in elementary
education? Is it helpful or possibly even harmful? Educators and psychologists have conducted
many studies on homework in elementary education, and it is an important subject (Healy). Children
learn and refine routines and skills related to school in their elementary years (Healy). Even though
homework is often considered a requirement of education, the benefits of homework for elementary
age children are inconclusive, and homework has been shown to degrade young students morale and
lower test scores (Reilly). Homework should be greatly reduced or even banned in elementary
schools. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most common is reinforcement (Lohmann). Educators have students complete exercises based
off of what was taught in class that day. Educators may also use homework to introduce a new topic
that will be covered in class the next day or in the near future (Lohmann). Lastly, homework can be
used to boost students' morale and engage their minds (Reilly). The goal is that this will lead to an
increase in positive attitudes to both the topic being taught as well as school in general (Reilly).
Educators are given a general guideline of 10 minutes of homework for each grade level (Reilly).
For example, a second grade child will have 20 minutes of homework, and a 8th grade child will
have 80 minutes of homework

Elementary School Failing
Failing and getting back up Again. When I was a sixth grader, I was in my worst position in
education that I could ever be. My elementary school had failed to prepare me for a higher advance
lessons then what they had taught me in Science and Math. I had D's and F's in most of my classes,
which were barely touched in my last year of Elementary. How to write a paragraph or math lessons
that were more than multiplication and division was replaced daily by artistic writing or drawings. It
was mainly a fun time in elementary school as they didn't focus too much on Language Arts, Math
or Science which was a rotation to other classes to learn about Earth Science or Biology. I was
failing. Failing in a new school district I had transferred into and I felt confused or scared that I
wouldn't be able to make it past sixth grade. It was never clear if I was failing my lessons that much
as most people in my elementary life didn't really talk about it besides the once a year parents–
teachers conference. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the year. Of course, I didn't feel comfortable talking to my tutor about my grades, not asking her any
questions for an hour and getting the homework wrong afterwards. Soon, it started to get better and
better. My grades rose from D's and F's to A's and B's and I was really happy. Throughout the rest of
my life until now, I worked hard to make sure I kept my grades higher than a D. Of course, it went

Observation Of A Middle School And Elementary Classroom
Observing is a when you watch something very carefully and closely. I had to observe two classes
close to my major. I want to become an early childhood Intervention specialist meaning I want to
work with little special Ed students. I observed a middle school and elementary school class. In my
middle school class which was 6th grade, it had many students who had IEP's to 504 and had some
accommodations. In my elementary school class, I observed a kindergarten and first grade Special
Ed class, which was much smaller and had all boys. The students got all the accommodations they
needed from shortening test to if they need a break in the middle of class. Both classes were very
different in their own ways. Therefore, I will talk more about the observations with the goals they
had, their unique learnings, assessments, technology, teaching strategies, resources they teachers
had, and my perspective on the whole observation.
The lesson goals of both of my classroom observation that I saw was preparing for a class
discussion and participate by referring to my findings this was on the board in the middle school 6th
grade classroom. It was very easy and big to find on the board with a learning target right next to it
so the students would know where it is. Being in the classroom just observing I did her them meet
the target goal, even though the teacher didn't directly say the goal they did discuss the things during
and after the lesson. For the elementary school in the kindergarten class there was on the board, the
goal for writing was to know whose name and knowing the letters of that name. At the beginning of
the lesson all the way through the end the teacher didn't even mention the goal. The students were
special Ed and took a little longer to understand what was going on. The teacher wrote on a small
white board of the names of the children in the class one by one and had the students figure out what
name it was and how many syllables there were. The teacher also had not even ten to fifteen mins
with the children because she had to step out because of another student. The students then never
actually understood the whole goal of the moral. Since I was observing Special Ed classrooms there

Deer Park Elementary School Budget Analysis
The importance of a budget is critical to operate the school. However, the budget is based on the
types of programs that the school has been acknowledged to offer. Deer Park Elementary school
offers several programs under the federal government, however, the Targeted Assistance Program
has been the program identified in this paper as the priority program to review. Collaboration
strategies promote multiple perspectives from various stakeholders to view different aspects of
components involved. Therefore, it is significant that leadership is strong and involves collaboration
to handle funds strategically within a budget. This paper gives an overview of collaboration
strategies collected, analyzed, and interpreted that conveys multiple perspectives from four
stakeholder groups on both the sufficiency and efficiency of funds concerning the budget of the
Targeted Assistance Program at Deer Park Elementary. The Title I Targeted Assistance Program
identified as the priority program for Deer Park Elementary School was chosen based on the
program's importance to the school. This program establishes funds to sixty identified students

The Elementary School : A Typical Of American Society
Gant Elementary School is a typical of American society in being culturally and linguistically
diverse. According to its enrollment demographics, the total enrollment in Minnie Gant Elementary
School is 590 over the school year from 2014 to 2015. Among them, 52% of the students are white,
20% are Hispanics or Latinos, 7.5% are Asians, 6.4% are Black or African Americans, and 6.1%
have two or more races. "Language diversity is a fact in U.S. school," said my SERVE class
teacher–Mrs. Mueller–now teaching third grade, "approximately twenty percent of students in my
class speak another language other than English in the home." Later, as I found that there are 29
students in my third grade classroom; although they are all fluent in English, five of them speak
Spanish, one speaks Vietnamese, one speaks Thai, one speaks Japanese and another speaks Russian.
From my classroom observation and interview with some of the teachers in Gant Elementary
School. Some strategies are overwhelmingly used by all of the teachers, while others varies
depending on the grade level and individual practitioner. Different strategies are used that would
best meet the needs of each child as a n individual. The strategies fall into three main categories:
strategies for engaging learners emotionally, strategies for teaching language specifically, and
strategies for teaching in general. Among them, there are four strategies that are necessary and
effective: gesture and visual cue, repetition and

Graduation Speech : Elementary School
As I began school, I earned a much greater appreciation for the woods and lands on the ranch I grew
up on. While I loved being at school, I dreaded the hour long bus ride each way. Not to mention the
15–minute drive down the ten–mile long dirt road to get to the bus stop. While in elementary school
I was often found daydreaming and was often bored. After taking a series of standardized tests I was
recommended for the gifted programs that were offered at the time. Although I did not want to be
away from my friends, many of who were other ranch kids that I have been with since birth, I
accepted going to the program at the urging of my teachers and my parents. I am not sure if the
program is still in use, but as a child I found it amazing. There was very little strict curriculum, I
was allowed to read all I wanted and there were many interactive lessons to choose from. I remained
in that program throughout elementary, and wished that style of learning still existed as I moved on.
Middle school was mostly a blur. I was in honors classes and did well, but really have very little
memories of it as a whole. My single biggest memory from that time period was the start to my love
of several of my hobbies, especially surfing and long range shooting. There were very few
extracurricular sports offered except for little league baseball, which I always participated in and
loved. My parents were extremely supportive of my endeavors, but never pushed them on me. I

Another action that can be taken place is possibly having more security placed on school sites, more
so on elementary and middle schools. Many have seen the extensive security measures that have
been taken on high school campuses such as security guards, officers, Identification cards, etc., but
why aren't these security measures occurring on elementary and middle schools? A possible solution
to solving the security on elementary and middle schools would be providing security guards on
these school sites. There is a concern about a shortage of security guards on campuses, so instead of
hiring security guards school districts could possible hire retired police officers or military. By

Narrative Essay On The Jungle Catcher In Elementary School
I nearly severed an artery when I was in elementary school. I don't remember how old I was when
this happened. But I do know it was early elementary school, because I was stupid. Stupid enough to
think wearing pink fuzzy sweatpants and a white and blue shirt looked nice together. Not to mention
I wasn't bright enough to realize that hanging upside down on the jungle gym in that type of pants
would cause me to slip. It was during afternoon recess, and I was playing with a friend. I don't
remember the girl's name because she moved away, and after all I was really young. We got this
idea to climb on the jungle gym, and so we ran across the playground and started climbing on it.
I don't remember why I decided to hang so close to the ground, but that was probably the most fatal
flaw. Maybe it was better that I had decided to hang there that day, because if I had gone any higher,
I probably would have broken something instead of nearly slicing an artery.
Anyways, my friend and I climbed onto the jungle gym. I remember hanging upside down, and
going to tell her something when I slipped. I doubt I rotated as many times as I remember, but I
remember seeing sky, ground, sky, ground, before I hit it. I sat up on the wood chips, and suddenly
felt excruciating pain in my and throat. My friend had a look of horror on her face, and I remember
her screaming, but not what she said. I think looked down, and saw blood.
I didn't know this until many years down the road, but while I had fallen,

Elementary School Narrative
After the interesting time that was elementary school, the change to the intermediate school was not
an unwelcome one. In fact, I was rather excited to pass on to the newly redone and recently renamed
Lincoln Intermediate school. It was a time of change and that was exciting and terrifying. The first
year of band, me newly on my trombone with only a few lessons of experience from the summer,
four times as many kids my age for me to get to know, and a larger school. Needless to say it was a
time to feel anxious. Perhaps the most immediate change that came out of the switch to intermediate
was my best friend. Throughout what I remember of elementary I had had two "school best friends"

However, our friendship dynamic was about to shift again. This time, we introduced two new
individuals into what had originally been a "line" of friendship, with us, the only two points. This

showed up, me, my friend, and our new test run friend. We had decided to watch monsters

accidentally get the movie into a narrative mode that I still to this day assume is meant for blind
people. With the movie being a complete loss due to the bore that is both movie watching and
especially blind people movie watching. Thus began the twix war. It began innocently enough, a

Elementary School Autobiography
Imagine me at the start of elementary school. A five–year–old wallflower. Somehow, in a class of 12
kids, I managed to isolate myself. I was always alone in a crowded room. I watched, I listened, I got
to know my peers, on a deeper level than just their names, but to them I was only "Rachel," an
enigma.
As time went on, I watched my classmates form friendships. They talked at lunch, played at recess,
and hung out after school. And where was I in this idyllic portrait of an elementary school society?
Removed from it; the eternal spectator. Soon I came to realize the name of the force that was
holding me back: shyness. Once it had a name, I was able to work on it. I got to a point where I had
some friends and was comfortable around the other kids at school. Had I conquered my shyness?
No. But I was closer than ever before. It felt like I had climbed a mountain to get to where I was.

It's huge, and also, shyness peaks around late middle school. Among seventh and eighth graders,

An activity that I did in elementary school that I think would be a great idea to keep it going is that
the teacher brought in a bunch of goodies that are circular. Some of the things that she brought in
were pizza's, cookies, pies, Oreos, etc. Before we got to eat anything, she explained to us that pi is
the ratio of the circle's circumference to its diameter. We all washed our hands and put on gloves to
measure the diameter of the food available. Not only did she stress the importance of Pi, but when
she cut the pizza we talked about fractions with the number of slices that the pizza had. I think that
this is a great lesson for teachers, that I would love to use in my future classroom. Pi day is always

Recess In Elementary Schools
"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better." –Albert Einstein." Recess
is a time where kids are able to take a break from academic activities. Most students do not realize
how important recess is; not only for their social and physical skills, but also with mental abilities.
Kids need daily exercise to not only stay in shape but also improve many other abilities. I strongly
believe that recess in elementary schools should be lengthened because it increases brain function, it
improves memory, and has a positive effect for the human body. One reason why recess should be
longer in elementary schools is that, nature, increases brain function. For example, a cell in your
brain called the mitochondria cell, wakes up after being active for around 20 minutes at a time. This

The Importance Of Natural Disasters In Elementary Schools
Summary
Natural disasters occur frequently throughout the nation. As a state, New York may not be hit by
similar disasters as the rest of the nation, but we should still be teaching young kids about the
different natural disasters that can occur and how to properly prepare for them. Not only is it
important for young children to know for their own safety, but we know they will be the ones to go
home and tell their families about it. They will spread their knowledge about the safety guidelines
when it comes to natural disasters, but to make them aware we must have a curriculum for
emergency preparedness included in the classroom lessons for the year.
Discussion
Education is a valuable asset someone can have. We are taught a variety of information, some of
which stays with us for the rest of our lives and other information that is temporarily learned for the
purpose of a course. During elementary school, we are absorbing all types of new information from
learning the alphabet to learning how to write a sentence. Through these years we are also taught
basic fire safety skills, who to call in case of an emergency, and what to do in case of a fire alarm or
lock down. However, we are never taught throughout our years of school, how to prepare for a
disaster. It is during this time where we should implement a curriculum dedicated specifically to
emergency preparedness for students.

Cultural Diversity At Washington Elementary School
For my 5th EDUC Lab, I had to go to a local elementary school and take a walk around its
neighborhood. I was told to observe cultural diversity, types of homes surrounding the school, and
answer a variety of questions regarding the kinds of students that attend the school. I was originally
a bit baffled by the kinds of questions on the sheet like "are there any apartment buildings near by?"
or "where do the children get food?" I thought to myself "Why do these things matter to a school?"
And then as I was going through my walk, I realized that these factors determine the kids of
resources the children have to receive a quality education, and these factors also influence the kinds
of resources the school has to give the children. I never knew such minute details could have such a
heavy impact on education.
I decided to visit Washington Elementary School in Pocatello. I chose to tour this school 's
neighborhood because it was close to my own home, and I have no relations with this elementary
school whatsoever. This school was set directly in the middle of a neighborhood, so I believe the
majority of students that attend this elementary school, also live in the neighborhood. The houses
varied from being very nice and well kept homes to a little more run down, but the majority of the
neighborhood looked like a typical middle class neighborhood. There were a few apartment
complexes within the neighborhood and there were a lot of for rent signs outside of houses. There

I'm sure we all remember our elementary days. Having the same teacher all day long for each

school we would have a different teacher for each subject. We would have one teacher for math
another for science and then a different one for history to where we would only see them an hour a
day instead of 7 hours straight. That's just one of the difference between elementary and middle

In high school when you get up in 11th and 12th grade you will be able to take classes different than
your core courses, such as math and history, you can take photography or phycology and those

credits.
One thing that is the same is the number of hours. Since it is state required that you go to school for
a certain amount of hours throughout the year. Each subject you spend roughly an hour on. Even in
elementary, it would be an hour of math, an hour of science and so on. Only difference with middle
and high school is that you get a different teacher for each of those subjects. Another similarity is
that they both have sports. Though in high school they're taking more seriously due to scholarships
being available from it. Every grade has sports. And music and art class. Though in elementary they
are usually a required class even in high school there is still artistic classes that people can take,

Personal Narrative: A Trip To Terminal Park Elementary School
On Thursday 12/01/16 at 2236 hours I was dispatched to Terminal Park Elementary School located
at 1101 D ST SE because four juveniles had knocked over a donation bin and were throwing rocks

malicious mischief calls that had just previously occurred in the nearby area.
I knew Officer D. Pedersen was at 107 16th ST SE located in the city of Auburn, King Co, WA, for
a rock being thrown through a living room window at about 2216 hours. Officer Pedersen later told
me the victim, Kenneth Bickham, was in bed when he heard his window break. Officer Pedersen

The data for this study on school mobility and math achievement came from the Chicago School
Readiness Program (1728). Random kids were put into Head Start programs that had teacher
trainings and mental health advisers (1728). Chicago was a smart choice to study since that city has
increased poverty compared to other big cities. Throughout the study, there were various sources
that were used to collect different aspects of the effects of school mobility. A main source was the
standardized achievements tests that were given before entrance into the Head Start program and
once they finished. Cognitive dysregulation was also accounted for by the teachers using a written
questionnaire (1729). To gauge the math achievement that the children in the program had been
working toward, a test known as the ISAT, was given around their fifth year when a majority of the
participates were in fourth grade (1729). This specific test allowed the researches to gain access to
the progress or failure in math that the students were projecting. The cognitive dysregulation was

Job Satisfaction, Work Attitude and Stress Tolerance of...
CHAPTER I
The PROBLEM AND ITS SCOPE
INTRODUCTION
Rationale of the Study
Job satisfaction is simply how people feel about their jobs and different aspects of their jobs. It is the
extent to which people like (satisfaction) or dislike (dissatisfaction) their jobs. As it is generally
assessed, job satisfaction is an attitudinal variable. In the past, job satisfaction was approached by
some researchers from the perspective of need fulfilment – that is, whether or not the job met the
employee's physical and psychological needs for the things provided by work (Cote S., and Morgan
LM, 2002).
In a report on job satisfaction by the National Center for Education Statistics (2003) revealed many

Taking in to account that most of these teachers are working away from their home and family and
could only go home weekly, or the least once a month due to the distance of the schools they are
assigned.
However, districts located in the hinterland such as Paquibato, had most number of teacher
applicants every year. Reason of this scenario could be the fact that many teachers are applying for
transfer to the nearby schools after a one or two years of service and that applicant could be hired
easily. Nevertheless, some teachers had tenured in this district up to their retirement period and
some had flourished and raised their professional status and positions.
The ground for conducting this study is that it is intended to shed light on what influences how
teachers feel about their work and profession so that positive job–related attitudes may be
cultivated.
Theoretical Background
The Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory, a motivation theory, laid the foundation for job satisfaction
theory. It is founded in the premise that goals or needs underpin by being the fundamental source of
all desires.
This theory explains that people seek to satisfy five specific needs in life – physiological needs,
safety needs, social needs, self–esteem needs, and self–actualization. In the levels of the five basic
needs, the person does not feel the second need until the demands of the first

Graduation Speech : Elementary School
From my kindergarten beginnings up to my recent experiences, I have always wondered about the
world around me and always tried to put others needs before myself. My father also thought of me
as a caring philosophy due to things like questioning about "What is death?"at a young age. My
elementary school, Foothill Oak, has shaped some prejudices and arrogance that I did my best to
hide and fix through my middle school through high school. In Foothill Oak Elementary School I
was one of the few that liked math and did my best in school. In that time I developed a prejudice
against Hispanics due to being bullied by a few and not having the academic drive I did. Yet I had a
few Hispanic and Latino friends that wanted to learn in school as I did but many of them didn't. In
elementary school, I felt like I wasn't challenged in math at all but the real challenge was reading
and writing. I didn't know why, but I skipped sentences, mixed up b's with d's and I was slow at
reading but, everything I did read I understood it completely. My parents thought I needed help so
they sent me to a reading and writing class during a summer to help. It didn't help much, but then
we concluded that I might be dyslexic because my Father was dyslexic, but his love for reading was

Elementary School And High School

  • 1. Elementary School And High School Class is defined as a group of people who have a similar level of wealth and income. Even though this ideology is more referred to specific individuals regarding their occupation, education can be considered to follow this same description. There are educational institutions everywhere, one elementary school usually in one part of a neighborhood in your hometown. As these schools grown in number and increase in grade level however, less become established and there tend to be a smaller amount of high schools within a city compared to elementary or middle. This means that for every 4 or 5 neighborhoods there is 1 high school that is responsible for accepting these residents. High schools quickly become established in large district areas, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... How are low income schools different than higher income schools? This is a concerning issue because if there continues to be a financial difference between educational institutions that affects the quality of schools, there will be an entire generation of students that will have received a poor education and have limited opportunities of successfully integrating with society compared to graduates that attained a higher quality education from a higher income school. This decreases social mobility of low income school graduates, continues stratification, and may encourage low income graduates to enact in high risk illegal acts to support themselves and families since they were not properly prepared to be college ready in high school. Low income schools mainly differ from higher income schools through student performance in college preparatory exams and behavioral issues/stigmas. Differences in student performance on college preparatory exams is the first noticeable difference between low income schools and higher income schools. Bryan Station had a larger percentage of students that underperformed and scored a lower average mean ACT composite score compared to Fayette County and Kentucky. The average ACT score of a Bryan Station student is 18.1, compared to the county average of 21.4 and the state average of 19.1 (Startclass, 2016). • 2. Elementary School Observation On August 10, 2016 I was dispatched to Hull, Jackson Elementary School on an Unruly student incident. I spoke with Mrs. Martha Phillips, Principal of the school, she stated that second grade student Jairon Day, hit a teacher in the face today. I spoke with Mrs. Erin Cox, she stated "At approximately 11:30 I picked my class up from art and took them to the courtyard for recess. JD followed instructions during recess. We came in at 11:45. As we headed up the stairs JD did not want to come with the class. He did come upstairs but kept wandering away from the class. He cut in and out of Mrs. Cross' line and tried to go into the teacher's workroom. This lasted several minutes. He would not get in line but did finally follow directions to stay with the class. ... He continued to hit and kick at least 5 other students while I was checking on JS. I told JD you are not going to hurt any other students. He pushed me in response. I sent my class to Ms. Jablonski's room and stayed in the hall with JD. He wanted to go to Ms. Jablonski's room with the rest of the class. He was still angry so I told him no. When I wouldn't let him go in the room and Ms. Jablonski shut the door, he ran to Ms. Warren's room and went through the bathroom to Ms. Jablonski's room. I was standing in Ms. Jablonski's door when she told him he had to leave. He ran toward me, kicked me in the knee, and pushed past me. • 3. Elementary School Recess Children in elementary schools all over the United States long for the moment that they are released to go to recess. It is a time for them to let loose, relax, and simply refresh their minds to get ready for the rest of the day. However, school boards as well as teachers around the country have begun to cut back on recess time or, in some cases, eliminate it completely in order to "maximize educational intake". The obvious benefit of the use of recess is physical enrichment, however there are many other crucial outcomes involved with recess. Recess is a pivotal piece in the development of a child's focus, ability to retain informations, and social skills, which are several reasons as to why recess should be implemented in elementary schools ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to an article from AAP News & Journals, "after recess, for children or after a corresponding break time for adolescents, students are more attentive and better able to perform cognitively" (Murray). This shows that students who are given a recess can soak up the given information better than those who are not. In turn, this allows students to be more successful in the classroom due to information being easily retained. This demonstrated in places such as Finland and China who have very successful education systems. These places have some of the most highly ranked schools in the world. As stated in an article by Alia Wong, "Finnish kids get more than an hour of recess every day" and "East Asian countries like China–the land of nine–hour school days and weekend cram classes–most schools give kids a 10– or even 20–minute break after each class, or about every hour." As previously stated above, these parts of the world have the most renowned school systems, but they also allow kids a lot of time for breaks. • 4. Understanding The Communication Patterns, And Development... On Friday September 23rd, 2016, I volunteered at East Lincoln Elementary School in Tullahoma, Tennessee. During that time, I assisted with office communication, cut math flashcards for tutorials, and organized the donations for the clothes closet for indigent students. In this paper, I will analyze the communication patterns, organizational patterns, and development of East Lincoln Elementary School. Communication Direction While volunteering at East Lincoln, I was able to observe the employees, their relationship with their coworkers, and with their bosses. When I was in the front office working with the office ladies, I noticed they displayed a great amount of horizontal communication. They enhanced their productivity by sharing information. It was clear to see that the ladies were all friends and got along well with each other. This helped their efficiency as well as making the day more enjoyable. Organizational Culture East Lincoln is the highest poverty–ridden elementary school in the area of Tullahoma, Tennessee. The teachers and staff at East Lincoln have caring hearts and are willing to go above the status quo in order to fulfill their students' needs. On the East Lincoln Elementary School website, their Mission Statement is, "We are dedicated to providing a quality education in safe, welcoming environment that fosters creative and critical thinking in order to produce independent and productive citizens" (East Lincoln Elementary School). Elementary School Reflection Running Head: JOURNAL REFLECTION 1: A CASE STUDY OF A HIGHLY EFFECTIVE, INCLUSIVE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL Journal Reflection 1 Reflection of: A case study of a highly effective, inclusive elementary school. Connell Reddick Jr. Augusta University Summary: A case study of a highly effective, inclusive elementary school The study conducted at Creekside Elementary School (CES) in Florida was aimed to investigate the contributing factors which led to the success of their highly effective inclusive elementary school classrooms. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Reflection: A case study of a highly effective, inclusive elementary school The article gave me a better understanding on methods I can implement that my special education students receive learning experiences which will assist them in being successful throughout school. I feel as though the six positions which were addressed have the potential to allow all students to be successful in all educators and administrators attempt to implement them. As a current educator I have experience first hand the power of setting and maintaining high expectations for all students. It has been noted in my experience that students will rise to the level of expectation which is set upon them. Educators must consciously and consistently encourage student to reach their highest potential and beyond. Educators must provide confidence and a means to succeed to enhance all student self efficacy which will in turn aid in students' overall success. The information within this article give me a more concrete understanding of the Georgia Department of Education's Teacher Keys Effective System Standard 9 which calls for a positive learning environment centered around high expectations, care, and respect for all students (GaDOE, 2017). Also agree with the notion that data should be used to drive instruction. I believe that is is important to have statistical basis for each implemented strategy, activity, or resource. Desegregation In Elementary School Kozol Paper When a young Mr. Kozol had been teaching fourth grade in an Elementary school in Boston, Massachusetts, he gave an assignment to his students asking them to describe what they saw every day when they came to class. His students, not worried about spelling or grammar, took to this assignment and in true children form they told him exactly what they saw. One student writes the following for their teacher, "I see dirty boards and I see papers on the floor. I see an old browken window with a sign on it saying, Do not unlock this window are browken. And I see cracks in the walls and I see old books with ink poured all over them." (Kozol, 2005, p.162) Imagine, this as a completely normal sight for these students, they are completely ... Not only is their living situation not only about the cost of living in that area it is also becomes an issue of the socio economic class that their families are used to. A persons socio economic class is defined as their income, educational background (both quality and quantity), prestige, values, culture, and power. All of these different values effect what a family puts an emphasize on when dealing with any major change in their life. For example, when in our class discussion the example of the supreme court judge and a cocaine dealer came up and it was said that although the two parties make roughly the same amount of money in a given year they are not classified in the same socio economic class because there are many other differences that hold them back. All of this said, I do not agree with the justification that people are so easily ready to agree with that people can choose to live anywhere if they work hard enough to accomplish this goal. • 7. Attending Elementary School Attending elementary school is a period of time in which you are learning the basics of every subject that you will carry on throughout your whole life. You will be able to learn how to read, write, add, subtract, etc. Also, you are taught how to act and think like a normal person. The best thing about elementary school is that you have very little responsibilities and you don't have to worry about college. I attended Fairview Elementary School from grades K–5. I remember each year like it was yesterday. For example, I remembered the way I looked, the friends I made, the events that occurred, and the problems I had. All throughout my years of elementary school, many people would pick on me and boast about their appearance in comparison to me. For example, I was the smallest kid in my class. Everyone would always be taller than me and make me reach for a pencil as they held it up high. In addition, I also had a big head which also gave kids another opportunity to make fun of me. Finally, many kids started to get braces. I had very crooked teeth and a gap in my tooth. I had a lot of friends throughout my years of elementary school. Each year brought new people in my classes. • 8. Miss Kane 's First Grade Class At Lutie Lewis Coates... Miss Kane's first grade class at Lutie Lewis Coates Elementary School (also known as Coates Elementary) has twenty students and seventeen of them are considered English Language Learners (ELL) (E. Kane, Personal Communication, October 4, 2016). This is very frustrating for both Miss. Kane and her students because it is very difficult to communicate with many of her ELLs. Out of Miss Kane's twenty students eight students are Hispanic, five Indian, five Black, and three White. Miss Kane's class is very diverse and this allows students to feel more accepted because not all students are similar. Coates Elementary as a whole is very diverse: Asian 28.86%, Black 18.26%, Hispanic 37.32%, and White 12.08% (Fairfax County Public Schools, 2015). Miss Kane's classroom reflects similar diversity as Coates Elementary does. Both Miss. Kane and the Coates staff really show their appreciation for diversity and attempt to treat all children equally giving all students equal opportunity. Coates Elementary is a Title I school; about fifty percent of students receive free and reduced lunch (Fairfax County Public Schools, 2015). This school was placed in the center of poverty and many of these students who participate in the free and reduced lunch program are English Language Learners. Eighty–five percent of Miss Kane's class is considered English Language Learner (ELL) and Brian Hernandez, the student studied, is one of these children. • 9. Observation In Elementary School Standing in front of about 20 beaming eyes staring at me I struggled to keep my composure. "You teach the class!" I was just a small child in the fifth grade. I was stuck inside a deep hole that I had no control over. "Well? What are learning?" At that moment tears started rolling down my cheeks and my head was in the dumps. As ten and eleven year olds we didn't have a clue what was right or wrong. I never believed in punishment for kids that are young to this day. In my everyday elementary school class the goal was to have the best time and learn new materials. Although my classmates and I were basically stuck in the room the whole day besides recess, there was always an urge to get out of our seats and yell something to one another. ... I tried to tell the other students to stop talking, but it just wasn't working. "Alex! Stop interrupting the class." At this point I knew I was done. My day was going to get worse. Out of the other two students, why did it have been me? She forced me to stand in front of my class and attempt to teach the lesson. The walk of shame, head down knowing that this was the worst possible scenario. I stood in front of everyone glaring at me, making it seem like I was the problem. I couldn't teach, I was speechless, all of the thoughts going through my head had vanished. With a blank face I was constantly being interrogated by my teacher. "Have you learned your lesson?" Why me? I don't deserve this, I thought. I tried holding back the tears in my eyes but it was too late. Tear drops that rushed like a waterfall rolled down my face. The daycare is next to the Shaar Hashomayim on Metcalfe and Kensington Avenue in Westmount. When I first went to the school I went through the courtyard which had cemented pillars and archways as well as a row of plastic play houses of a variety of colours and sizes. The doors are all locked therefore I had to wring the Foundation school doorbell. The school has 2 stories; the first story is where the daycare is and the second floor is where the elementary school is located. There are 6 classrooms and each classroom has a specific age group. On this particular day a lot of kids were missing due to the weather so there were nine kids in class eight girls and one boy between the ages of four and five. The 5 year old boy stood out the most to me the most due to the fact that he was the only boy in a class full of girls. He was very talkative but, only towards the monitors; he like holds hands with the monitors and when he is speaking or they are speaking he gives them I eye contact which he did not do for anyone else. I think this may be because he feels comfortable with them and he likes the attention that they give him because he would get a huge smile his face when they praised him or said they would play with him. He did not speak much to the other kids; he played play–dough at the same table as the other children but, he did not interact with them or participate in the pretend play. He had short brown hair, slightly tanned skin and was wearing jeans a red shirt and running shoes. After a little while he went off on his own and looked at the books in the book section which was the only part of the classroom in which no one else was there. He also played with a toy dinosaur on his own he looked a little bored or unhappy because he was pacing around the class room laying on the floor looking at the ceiling didn't play with anything for more than 5 minutes. He was the only one who talked to me that day and he told me that he could write music notes and that he could read them. This means to me that he is a smart child because not many people could write and read music especially at a young age. Another kid who stood out to me was a 5 year old Caucasian girl. • 11. Elementary Hosts Popcorn At School Every other Friday, Cascades Elementary hosts Popcorn Friday in their cafeteria. Volunteers come and help make, bag, and distribute the salty snack to the classrooms. The line goes popcorn machine, empty bags, bag folders and tape placers, finished bags, and classroom totes. However, to make the line flow easily, the line might go; empty bags, popcorn machine, bag folders, tapers, finished bags in lines of five, and the classroom totes that are brought up from the classroom. This suggested lineup requires a volunteer to open bags and place them so the popcorn machine volunteer is able to reach the paper bags, and possibly a couple more volunteers to ensure the supplies needed never runs out and the flow is maintained. Unfortunately, many parents with nothing to do on Fridays do not come to help. On Popcorn Day, the volunteers meet at Cascades Elementary at eight in the morning in the cafeteria after dropping their children off at school. One volunteer begins to heat up the popcorn maker and make popcorn while a second volunteer sets out bags and a third sets out strips of tape along the side of the table. After classes begin, the teacher selects two students to take the class mesh tote and the popcorn money for the class to the cafeteria where the volunteers make the popcorn. • 12. Elementary School Teacher Elementary School Teacher On November 14, I shadowed Mrs. Spielmann, a second grade teacher at West Central Elementary School. I arrived at the school at 8:00 but she was in a meeting so I didn't go to her room until 8:25. When I went into the room she told me that when the students first came in they would do their morning duties. As the students came in they were telling me stories about their families. Some of the things they did right away was eat a snack, do milk count, mark if they read 20 minutes, and get ready for whatever station they were going to first. Mrs. Spielmann had a group of students that she would do a station with and the rest of the students moved from one station to another. I went around and asked them questions about what they were doing. One station was a geography station. They had a worksheet they had to fill out about the capitals and states. I helped them with any of the questions they needed. Another station was a spelling station. They had to transfer their spelling words onto the worksheet and then add up how many points the word was worth. I spent most of my time at this station explaining how to do the worksheet. Once they figured out how to do it they would show me their answers and they would be so happy that they got it right. It was interesting to see what made them excited and how happy they were to get the answer right. Another ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Spielmann when I was in second grade. • 13. Elementary School Reflection People say that Elementary school is primarily for developing social skills and creating habits of productive school practices. I excelled in the second part of that statement, I put everything I had into learning anything and everything my teachers would teach me. However the social aspect of my early childhood was lacking in certain areas. I didn't know it at the time but I suffered from severe Anxiety and OCD. So while the other kids would go outside to recess I would beg my teacher to let me stay in and clean the pencil led stains from my pencil bin. All of the other kids would come to school with fun outfits that reflected their personalities, while I would wear the same sweatshirt and shoes everyday to avoid any possible complications. I lived with this mindset for several years, but I didn't see the problem. Middle school is a hard transition for anyone, but when your entire life has revolved around routines a change like this can feel catastrophic. Walking around to different classes all alone several times a day felt like torture. I began counting my steps to find the fastest and most efficient route to all of my classes. If there were people standing in the way of where I needed to go rather than asking them to move I would find an alternative route to take. • 14. My Experience Of School Experience In Elementary School Well, I've had a pretty bad school experience almost my entire life honestly. Elementary school was the only exception. Elementary school years were pretty great had a lot of friends, I was popular among teachers I still technically am. Elementary school was fun had a lot of great times and memories some good some bad, but overall it was pretty great. Minus reading logs those sucked and what made me lose my interest in reading. I was such a great reader I would read like a 7th or 8th– grade level book and I would be done with it in an hour or so and we would need like 400–600 minutes of reading. I hated it because I had to find so many different books and read so many books each month to get at least 400 minutes. Compared to middle school elementary school was a breeze. We had 2 middle schools which the first one was Fire Prairie which was 5th and 6th, and Osage Trail was 7th and 8th. Now Fire Prairie is now called upper elementary which didn't change until the end of my 6th–grade year. Fire Prairie was a whole new world for me because we had 5 elementary schools and they all came together into one school. Well, it seemed like when we got there everyone acted like they had never met me before all my friends had left me. My only true best friends had moved schools thankfully through the power of Facebook I can actually contact them again. Mrs. Portales is a Pre–K ESL teacher at the elementary school Lorenzo de Zavala in the Grand Prairie Independent School District. Even though I had to wait about an hour to interview her, it was worth it because she was very helpful and kind answering most of my questions. The interview lasted about an hour; it started about 4:00 pm and ended by 5:00 pm. She not only answered most of my questions, as well, she gave me some advices to get ready for my first year of teaching. According to Mrs. Portales the math professional development activities that she has participated in, are the ones that the district of Grand Prairie offers. She described her overall experiences learning math as not so well, because she has had teachers that did not care about her learning. She felt that her teachers were more worried in completing the lesson or the unit, than their students ' learning. She claims that due to that kind of teachers, she has not learned everything she needs to learn, but fortunately she knows enough maths to teach what she needs to teach. She keeps up with the latest changes in math instruction by going to the different workshops offered by the district, and by asking new teachers for new ways of teaching. She believes that new teachers come to the profession with new, and better teaching strategies. As well, she keeps up with the latest changes by searching ideas on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One morning in Newtown, Connecticut, many children and staff of Sandy Hook Elementary were ready to begin their daily routine of attending school, or work. Unfortunately, they were not aware that this would be the last time they do so. The shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary ended the lives of several staff and young children. • 17. Why Is Homework Necessary For Elementary School Homework Is Not Necessary for Elementary Students Elementary education is something many people are familiar with. Some may have taught in elementary schools, researched elementary education, or at the least, attended elementary school. School work and projects assigned to be completed at home are a large part of primary education, and most people who have completed grades one through six have experienced homework themselves, but does familiarity mean necessity? How important is homework in elementary education? Is it helpful or possibly even harmful? Educators and psychologists have conducted many studies on homework in elementary education, and it is an important subject (Healy). Children learn and refine routines and skills related to school in their elementary years (Healy). Even though homework is often considered a requirement of education, the benefits of homework for elementary age children are inconclusive, and homework has been shown to degrade young students morale and lower test scores (Reilly). Educators may also use homework to introduce a new topic that will be covered in class the next day or in the near future (Lohmann). Lastly, homework can be used to boost students' morale and engage their minds (Reilly). The goal is that this will lead to an increase in positive attitudes to both the topic being taught as well as school in general (Reilly). My elementary school had failed to prepare me for a higher advance lessons then what they had taught me in Science and Math. I had D's and F's in most of my classes, which were barely touched in my last year of Elementary. It was mainly a fun time in elementary school as they didn't focus too much on Language Arts, Math or Science which was a rotation to other classes to learn about Earth Science or Biology. I was failing. Failing in a new school district I had transferred into and I felt confused or scared that I wouldn't be able to make it past sixth grade. I want to become an early childhood Intervention specialist meaning I want to work with little special Ed students. I observed a middle school and elementary school class. In my middle school class which was 6th grade, it had many students who had IEP's to 504 and had some accommodations. In my elementary school class, I observed a kindergarten and first grade Special Ed class, which was much smaller and had all boys. The students got all the accommodations they needed from shortening test to if they need a break in the middle of class. Both classes were very different in their own ways. Therefore, I will talk more about the observations with the goals they had, their unique learnings, assessments, technology, teaching strategies, resources they teachers had, and my perspective on the whole observation. The lesson goals of both of my classroom observation that I saw was preparing for a class discussion and participate by referring to my findings this was on the board in the middle school 6th grade classroom. It was very easy and big to find on the board with a learning target right next to it so the students would know where it is. Being in the classroom just observing I did her them meet the target goal, even though the teacher didn't directly say the goal they did discuss the things during and after the lesson. For the elementary school in the kindergarten class there was on the board, the goal for writing was to know whose name and knowing the letters of that name. At the beginning of the lesson all the way through the end the teacher didn't even mention the goal. The students were special Ed and took a little longer to understand what was going on. The teacher wrote on a small white board of the names of the children in the class one by one and had the students figure out what name it was and how many syllables there were. The teacher also had not even ten to fifteen mins with the children because she had to step out because of another student. The students then never actually understood the whole goal of the moral. While I loved being at school, I dreaded the hour long bus ride each way. Not to mention the 15–minute drive down the ten–mile long dirt road to get to the bus stop. While in elementary school I was often found daydreaming and was often bored. After taking a series of standardized tests I was recommended for the gifted programs that were offered at the time. But I do know it was early elementary school, because I was stupid. Stupid enough to think wearing pink fuzzy sweatpants and a white and blue shirt looked nice together. Not to mention I wasn't bright enough to realize that hanging upside down on the jungle gym in that type of pants would cause me to slip. It was during afternoon recess, and I was playing with a friend. I don't remember the girl's name because she moved away, and after all I was really young. We got this idea to climb on the jungle gym, and so we ran across the playground and started climbing on it. I don't remember why I decided to hang so close to the ground, but that was probably the most fatal flaw. Maybe it was better that I had decided to hang there that day, because if I had gone any higher, I probably would have broken something instead of nearly slicing an artery. Anyways, my friend and I climbed onto the jungle gym. I remember hanging upside down, and going to tell her something when I slipped. I doubt I rotated as many times as I remember, but I remember seeing sky, ground, sky, ground, before I hit it. I sat up on the wood chips, and suddenly felt excruciating pain in my and throat. Kids need daily exercise to not only stay in shape but also improve many other abilities. I strongly believe that recess in elementary schools should be lengthened because it increases brain function, it improves memory, and has a positive effect for the human body. As a state, New York may not be hit by similar disasters as the rest of the nation, but we should still be teaching young kids about the different natural disasters that can occur and how to properly prepare for them. Not only is it important for young children to know for their own safety, but we know they will be the ones to go home and tell their families about it. They will spread their knowledge about the safety guidelines when it comes to natural disasters, but to make them aware we must have a curriculum for emergency preparedness included in the classroom lessons for the year. Discussion Education is a valuable asset someone can have. We are taught a variety of information, some of which stays with us for the rest of our lives and other information that is temporarily learned for the purpose of a course. During elementary school, we are absorbing all types of new information from learning the alphabet to learning how to write a sentence. Through these years we are also taught basic fire safety skills, who to call in case of an emergency, and what to do in case of a fire alarm or lock down. However, we are never taught throughout our years of school, how to prepare for a disaster. These are a few of the programs used by the organization. Stakeholders and specific needs Based on Ed.gov a stakeholder is a group of people or someone that has the interest to fulfill the success of an organization. With that statement already stated I can say in my organization we can hold administrators accountable, this starts with the administrators in the District and goes all the way to the principals. The administrators in the District should be stakeholders because they are the group who decide what LMS and programs to incorporate into the schools and teachers programs to use. With that said, it is imperative to have in mind what is best for the organization for their needs not to the District because is less money or because I like this one, having in mind what works best for the needs of the students ... • 38. Job Satisfaction, Work Attitude and Stress Tolerance of... CHAPTER I The PROBLEM AND ITS SCOPE INTRODUCTION Rationale of the Study Job satisfaction is simply how people feel about their jobs and different aspects of their jobs. It is the extent to which people like (satisfaction) or dislike (dissatisfaction) their jobs. As it is generally assessed, job satisfaction is an attitudinal variable. In the past, job satisfaction was approached by some researchers from the perspective of need fulfilment – that is, whether or not the job met the employee's physical and psychological needs for the things provided by work (Cote S., and Morgan LM, 2002). In a report on job satisfaction by the National Center for Education Statistics (2003) revealed many factors that contributed to higher ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Taking in to account that most of these teachers are working away from their home and family and could only go home weekly, or the least once a month due to the distance of the schools they are assigned. However, districts located in the hinterland such as Paquibato, had most number of teacher applicants every year. Reason of this scenario could be the fact that many teachers are applying for transfer to the nearby schools after a one or two years of service and that applicant could be hired easily. Nevertheless, some teachers had tenured in this district up to their retirement period and some had flourished and raised their professional status and positions. The ground for conducting this study is that it is intended to shed light on what influences how teachers feel about their work and profession so that positive job–related attitudes may be cultivated. • 40. Graduation Speech : Elementary School From my kindergarten beginnings up to my recent experiences, I have always wondered about the world around me and always tried to put others needs before myself. My father also thought of me as a caring philosophy due to things like questioning about "What is death?"at a young age. My elementary school, Foothill Oak, has shaped some prejudices and arrogance that I did my best to hide and fix through my middle school through high school. In Foothill Oak Elementary School I was one of the few that liked math and did my best in school. In that time I developed a prejudice against Hispanics due to being bullied by a few and not having the academic drive I did. Yet I had a few Hispanic and Latino friends that wanted to learn in school as I did but many of them didn't. In elementary school, I felt like I wasn't challenged in math at all but the real challenge was reading and writing. I didn't know why, but I skipped sentences, mixed up b's with d's and I was slow at reading but, everything I did read I understood it completely. My parents thought I needed help so they sent me to a reading and writing class during a summer to help. It didn't help much, but then we concluded that I might be dyslexic because my Father was dyslexic, but his love for reading was some much, due to a harsh childhood, that he was able to compensate for it. Later, they found a place called "Brain Highways," and it was meant for children with underdeveloped brains. So we did it with a recommendation from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
