Elementary School Bullying
Awareness of elementary school bullying has increased in recent years and is the subject of global attention and research. The occurrence of
elementary school bullying is higher and is estimated to be twice the rate when compared to high school. This paper will discuss what bullying is, the
types of bullying, the common statistics of bullying, myths and interventions to help. Bullying occurs because the children are lonely and unhappy,

Definition and Types of Bullying Bullying is the unwanted aggressive behavior, observed or perceived power imbalance and repetition of behaviors
or high likelihood of repetition. According to Dr. Jana Juvonen (2005), bullying involves an imbalance of power between the target and the perpetrator.
The most common form of bullying among girls and boys is name–calling. Boys in the age range of 6 to 12 are more likely to be physically aggressive

or children can bully others. The two modes of bullying include direct and indirect (Goldblum, 2014). Direct bullying occurs in the presence of a
targeted youth. Indirect bullying is not directly communicated to a targeted child such as spreading rumors. In addition to these two modes, the four
types of bullying include broad categories of physical, verbal, relational and damage to property (Goldblum, 2014). The types of bullying most

Elementary school memories still run vividly through my mind from time to time. Grade School was the one stable environment that was holding

Before Coach Bailey, I would travel to PE, stretch, listen to the teacher chat about health, play a game, and never consider it for the rest of the day, if
ever. Coach Bailey helped discover the athlete that was hiding deep inside. He made PE come to life. I remember him cracking jokes and using
hilarious voices to teach us about being healthy and the different fundamentals of fitness. He would create games that were beyond just basic tag or
dodge–ball. I found myself daydreaming about fitness and PE all the time, counting the minutes until I was back in that gym. During Coach Bailey's
first year as our PE teacher, he coordinated the President's Physical Fitness Challenge. This was a series of fitness challenges from push up's and
pull–up's to a shuttle relay and flexibility test. As I was completing these challenges the competitor inside came to life. All I wanted to do was
WIN!! I found myself trying as intense as I had ever tried before. I wound up earning first place in the shuttle relay and Coach Bailey encouraged me
to join the track team. Being on the track team helped to develop my talents as a runner and brought out the athlete I never knew existed inside. I
continued running track in middle school and high school and won a silver medal at the state track meet my junior year. My love for fitness still rings

My Experience At The Elementary School Essay
I have learned so much these past three months while I was student teaching at James A. Dever in Valley Stream, New York. My first placement was in
a second–grade classroom. My second placement was in a fifth–grade inclusion classroom. Student teaching has given me the chance to get hands–on
with the students and the curriculum. As well, it has allowed me to observe how a teacher should or shouldn't be like in a classroom. Student
teaching has shown me so many examples of excellent teaching that you cannot learn from any textbook. It takes experience and a unique type of
teacher who is caring, warm and passionate about teaching and his or her students. As my student teaching experience is coming to an end; I can
now reflect on my experience and review my planning and practical instructions within the classroom. I can also reflect on how I made choices on
curriculum goals and strategies, and evaluate my experiences and my knowledge of my experience at the elementary school. As well, I can now
review how I adapted learning opportunities for my diverse learners within the classrooms.
The first area I can reflect on is my planning and practical instruction in both my placements at James A. Diver. I have learned multiple ways to plan
and teach a lesson at Molloy College and then I used my knowledge from Molloy College and applied it to my lessons at James A. Diver. As well, I
was able to observe how the cooperative teachers in both placements planned and taught each subject area.

Education to become a teacher is long and tedious, and while the income may not be the highest available, watching students develop a new skill or
grow an appreciation for learning can be very rewarding. Because there will always be a need for education, even with the recent budget cuts, teaching
jobs will always have to be available somewhere.
Elementary teachers play an important part in the intellectual development as well as the social development of their students. The education of young
children can affect the way they view themselves, other people, and the world, and their success throughout life. Usually, one elementary teacher will
teach several subjects to one class, of about 20 students. However, some will work in teams with other teachers, depending on the type of school

who are supervised by the teacher, assist with clerical tasks, lunch and playground activities. About one public Elementary School Teacher in six is
a member of a teaching team in which two or more teachers work closely teacher. An example of is would be when I was in fifth grade. My

Personal Statement : Elementary School
When I was in Elementary School my parents, especially my dad preached to me to always read because your vocabulary will soon become sizable. I
really did not care about reading for fun or about what my dad said. I know that it is my responsibility to read on my own but it did not help that most
if not all of my friends in elementary school did not read books for a hobby. My parents tried to get me reading at a young age, but now I am starting to
read a lot more than I did several years ago. I do not think that my parents, especially my dad, had a great influence on me when it comes to reading.
My mom, who loved to read, never could read because me and my little brother were so involve with sports so she did not have the time to read books.

My Educational Journey At Discovery Elementary
My educational journey began at Discovery Elementary in Meridian, Idaho. I had a great experience at Discovery. My teachers were attentive to all
of the student 's needs and stressed classroom communities. Fourth grade was the hardest year for me because my teacher was so inattentive to the
classes needs. We spent the majority of our class time coloring pictures of Idaho symbols and silent reading. The entire class fell behind, which was

In elementary school whilst my peers were playing dress up and feeding tea to their stuffed animals, my imaginary play entailed lining up all my

Grade School Experience
The grade school years were significant years in my life. I had oodles of fun, learned how to read and write, made new friends along the way, and

The Effects Of Homework On Elementary School
The subject of homework assigned in elementary school has been a controversial topic discussed for decades. Individuals question if homework
assigned in elementary school has a true purpose, such as academic improvements for students. Some people may argue that homework aids
elementary students in learning and enables them to grow intellectually. Whereas, others may say homework only adds stress and creates problems

My Journey As An Elementary School Teacher
Throughout my journey as an elementary school teacher, I have worked at two different schools within the same school district. Although these
schools' had similar demographics, there was a major difference in the school environment. Seeing the vast difference between the school cultures, I
developed my educational philosophy on the positives and negatives that I saw within each school.
Analyzing my personal practical theories, it came apparent to me that all my theories came back to enabling the students to grow and become college

the teachers, students, and parents feel when they walk into a school. The school and classroom climate should be a welcoming, caring, and a hopeful
envi–ronment. As a future leader, having this as one of my main personal theories will help keep the school a place where students and teacher want

My First Year Of Elementary School
As a child, I always struggled in the area reading and writing. I was in the first grade when I came face to face with the issue. I wasn't prepared like
the other kids were in my class, they all seemed to thrive more and more each day in the subject. I didn't, and nothing the teacher was doing with the

All throughout my life, I have had an interesting relationship with writing. As a child, my interests were more focused on reading than writing. In
elementary school I fell in love with books. Initially I read simple children's books, much like everybody else in my class, but it did not take long
for my passion to drive me to read more difficult writings. Fiction books quickly became a replacement for any childhood toys. Instead of blocks or

Grade School was the one stable environment that was holding my childhood together. I remember school being the place where I didn't worry about the craziness of my life at home. Before Coach Bailey, I would travel to PE, stretch, listen to the teacher chat about health, play a game, and never consider it for the rest of the day, if ever. Coach Bailey helped discover the athlete that was hiding deep inside. He made PE come to life. I remember him cracking jokes and using hilarious voices to teach us about being healthy and the different fundamentals of fitness. He would create games that were beyond just basic tag or dodge–ball. I found myself daydreaming about fitness and PE all the time, counting the minutes until I was back in that gym. This was a series of fitness challenges from push up's and pull–up's to a shuttle relay and flexibility test. As I was completing these challenges the competitor inside came to life.   • 3. My Experience At The Elementary School Essay I have learned so much these past three months while I was student teaching at James A. Dever in Valley Stream, New York. My first placement was in a second–grade classroom. My second placement was in a fifth–grade inclusion classroom. My teachers were attentive to all of the student 's needs and stressed classroom communities. Fourth grade was the hardest year for me because my teacher was so inattentive to the classes needs. We spent the majority of our class time coloring pictures of Idaho symbols and silent reading. The entire class fell behind, which was present in almost all of our scores.
