2. 1. Kargo the Company
(i) Kargo International Limited (KIL) is a Regional Organization specializing in supply chain
logistics for both exporters and importers from Uganda and its neighboring countries. The
KIL approach to client’s traffic requirements is to offer inventive and integrated cargo
movement services with a very strong emphasis on the logistics of each and every
shipment. KIL has a comprehensive and regular reporting structure to its clients.
(ii) KIL has put in place systems that provide answers to all queries that may be raised by
our clientele. This helps our clients to have all the necessary information regarding the
movement of their goods.
(iii) KIL’s headquarter is situated on Plot 8, Buganda Road, just off Kampala road which is
the main street. This is very ideal for our clients as it’s a two minutes walk from the city
centre with ample parking space.
2. Associates
(i) KIL has reliable off-shore associates who can offer quality services. In close-co-operation
with our associates, we can offer door–to-door services covering the major trading
continents of the world. KIL also has regional associates in the ports of Mombasa & Dar-
es-Salaam respectively who compliment the door–to–door service to our clients. Their
services are of high quality and reliable. We also have associates in Bujumbura-Burundi
and Kigali-Rwanda
(ii) KIL is now connected to URA through Asycuda where entries are lodged from our
premises. We are also qualified to self assessment of taxes payable by our clients. All
our branches are also connected to the same system.
3. Staffing
The C.E.O Mr. Charles Kareba has over 35 years un-interrupted experience in this sector. He
joined the industry in 1973 in Uganda and then moved to Mombasa. After Mombasa he moved to
Dar-es-Salaam before returning to Uganda.
Presently, Charles Kareba is the Chairman of Uganda Freight Forwarders Association. He is also a
TRUSTEE of the regional body FEAFFA. He sits on the Board of Directors of the CENTRAL
CORRIDOR whose Secretariat is based in Dar-es-Salaam.
The other members of staff have been trained hands-on at KIL. Others have trained and attained
EACFFPC which is taught in the 5 EAC Member States.
KIL holds operation meetings every morning where every consignment’s progress is updated. This
is very crucial in disseminating correct information to clients.

KIL has established a strong relationship with a major telecom company with the clearest signal
which keeps everybody in touch with the Headquarters and each other at all times. This enables
management to keep control of the operations to avoid being surprised by problems affecting the
clearance of cargo.
