1. Angry eyes was a video showing what racism was like by using blue and brown eyes
instead. The video was focused on a woman, who showed most white students just what black
people go through on a daily basis. It was effective, and incredibly unorthodox way of going
about the whole issue, but it got through to people.
Personally, my favorite part was when the little girl ran crying out of the classroom then
returned and tried defending herself from what had just happened. She was literally "white girl
privilege" in human form. I was glad she got kicked out, because what she did was mostly just
annoying, she should have apologized to everyone in that room.
I have to agree though with the blonde person that sure, black people get a lot of crap
from people, but that doesn't mean other people don't get problems. Plenty of white, and other
ethnicities get picked on and bullied all the time based on certain parts of their appearance, and
sure she said that you can change your appearance, but that's not always possible or easy.
The biggest problem I had with this video is her fighting racism with racism really. Her whole
project was good over all, but honestly she had favoritism over all the black students in the class.
I know she was just giving a taste to all the other students, but it really wasn't fair, then she went
and picked on "white girls" and told her she can't shed tears for white girls. Never did she really
pick on a white boy. This bothers me so much with that experiment because she of all people
should know that women are a minority too, and we face it every day to the same extent that
black people do. And why not shed a tear over a white girl? Just because she's white does not
make her a heartless racist. Like she said, no one gets to change their skin color, so why was she
so harsh the whole time to all white people? It's not as though all of them had been ganging up
on the black students.
2. Again, the lesson was a good one, and it was effective, but the teacher just seemed way
too racist herself and simply causing more of a problem than solving really. There was no reason
to say some of what she said when explaining why she was being so mean. Is it possible for
everyone to realize that no we're not all the same, but we should treat each other as human beings
anyway?
