Ovarian cancer is the deadliest of all gynecological
cancers, called the silent killer
Over 50% women are diagnosed in late stages, reducing
their chances of survival
4. How it worked
Teal is the colour that represents ovarian cancer, just as pink
symbolizes breast cancer
Wear Teal Day campaign launched during September which is
ovarian cancer awareness month. Globally September 5 is
observed as Teal Day
A multi-platform campaign was launched in India with the
Facebook page India Teal Warriors being the central point for
information and communications.
The campaign revolved around the theme of supporting a 49-
year-old executive, Ritu Bedi, who has been diagnosed with
ovarian cancer
5. Social Media Modus Operandi
Corporates, hospitals, institutions, celebrities and individuals were
reached out to participate in the WearTealDay campaign
Participants were asked to wear Teal color in form of apparels,
accessories, makeup, nail paints etc. and upload their pictures with
hashtag #WearTealDay
Hospitals in Delhi and NCR organized free screening camps for
women registering and joining the drive
A Teal Party was organized at a popular café which was attended by
several socialites, media veterans and page-3 folks.
